While I try not to judge a book by its cover, I certainly didn't realize what I'd be stepping into. I've imagined it must be like stepping into the Tardis. Seems small, and unassuming on the outside, but expansive, and immersive on the inside. Walls lined with various figures and bits ranging from the common to the rare. Ultimately, in spite of the massive amount of games (I even learned to play Super Dungeon Explore), or the extensive effort that's put into an amazing play-space... the people are what made the experience worthwhile. Want to learn a game? They'll give you the rundown. Have some old Magic cards to sell? They'll explain the value and give you the options they can provide. Wanna play a game against the person who consistently rolls poorly? Bob's typically available, and always ready to show off his reliably poor dice rolling. These folks have brought together a community. Groups of individuals who often don't know how to interact with people, come out of their shells and become open. Opportunities to meet some fantastic individuals that would be lost elsewhere. Beyond making a sale or offering a product, there is a community of gamers who are willing to offer games, advice, trades, laughs, and friendship. I'm an unashamed gamer. Yet my family hardly knows much more about the games I play, than how to roll dice. Still, when birthdays/holidays come around, I can send them to The Gamer's Haven, confident in the knowledge that whatever they find me will be well worth the trip. Frankly, you can get most of this stuff online, or from a big-box-store at a discounted price. (Show the staff a better price, and see if they can't make your trip worthwhile) But you owe it to yourself to see what's different about The Gamer's Haven.

Spokane is a funny place for board gamers. Board game cafes are heavy on the "cafe" and light on…read morethe "board game." Game shops seem to either have no space to play a game or they have lots of space with no clear instructions on when/how the space can/should be used and by whom. And all of the shops we visited while in town were struggling with identity crisis. As for Uncles: Good: Board game selection is better than the other shops we visited in town Bummer: Not a cafe and no obvious place to play a game, so likely intended as strictly retail rather than a gaming space. (No harm no foul...just offering an observation for the advantage of others) Bad: Nobody offered to help (employees stayed behind the counter while we were there). Odd: Organization/layout and display shelves were a challenge. Some areas were clearly organized and others less so. Just when I started to think I was understanding the organizational scheme, I'd find a game that obviously belonged with a group of others on the other side of the store. Just my opinion, but there is enough selection here that an alphabetical layout scheme would probably make sense. Suggestion: Pick an identity: Toy store or game shop? Gone are the days of the bizarrely mixed toy department in the basement of the local sporting goods store. Board games have moved beyond classification as "toys" and into the realm of being a true hobby all its own. If Uncles decides to focus up as a game store, consider dumping the little kid toys and leaning heavier into collectibles loved by most gamers (e.g. Funko, Iron Studios, Superhero/Fantasy/Sci-Fi stuff, etc.) Parking: rough. (Seemed as though downtown paid street parking was the only option.) Pricing is pretty standard for brick and mortar...a touch higher than you can find online in most cases. (I call it the "Instant Gratification Tax.") At the end of the day, I came away feeling as though the shop might be run by a pair of contentious siblings...one who loves modern board games and the other who is convinced that kid's toys are the way to go. Combining them in this small a space was OK in the '80s but now is just confusing for both groups.

Super helpful. Didn't have the game we wanted but suggested one the family loved including the teensread more

Refused return/exchange next day on broken tv. Samsung out of stock can't help. Got screwed…read more I bought a 77" Samsung OLED and q900 sound bar and sub. The TV was broken out of the box. They would not take it back because the box had to be undated also. I cut it up and recycled it. They told me I should have read my receipt more closely. They say it says no returns or exchanges without the box. This is true, it's in the fine print, save your boxes and ALL packaging. Be extremely careful unboxing. Or shop elsewhere. Samsung can't exchange, thy are out of stock. I got ripped off.

They told me to call TCL the manufacture and ask them to take the tv back they said no. This is what they wrote me back!!! I have called Wade with Video Only to find out what could be done. He told me that they will not let me return the TV nor will they exchange it. So I asked him what about the $2000.00 I put on the TV. His reply was sorry you will need to buy another TV. The Spokane store is very rude and tell me it is out of their Hands. No one at Video Only will help out at all. This store has the worst customer service ever. This is the letter from TCL. Sent it to Video Only and still no return or exchange. This email is to confirm that you had a phone conversation with a TCL Technical Support Representative with regards to your TCL 98QM7K Google TV that reportedly has a crack on the screen while the TV is still in the box. Unfortunately, cracked panels are not covered under the manufacturer's warranty. Therefore, we cannot provide you with any service for this television. You can click here to view our TV Warranty Information or visit our website below: https://www.tcl.com/us/en/warranty/tv-warranty In situations like this, we recommend contacting the retailer who sold you the TV for an exchange. Thankfully, retailers are great at providing an exchange for TVs sold as damaged. We also strongly advise that you attend to this matter promptly, as most retailers have a specific timeframe for returning damaged TVs after purchase. Best regards,
