I have never written a yelp review but the comedy of errors I experienced with Radix media compelled me to take the plunge. Synopsis: I wanted 500 zines, I got 434 semi-usable copies, 220 of which were acceptable, 214 which were good, and 66 which were irreparably damaged. I dont think any of us have the time for the full story but let me explain the final straw that made me realize Radix should stick to christmas cards and takeout menus. I came to Radix on the suggestion of a friend. I wanted high quality work that I was willing to pay a premium for. I was excited to be able to work with a local printer that could provide hands on service despite the fact that they were a little more expensive than their online competitors. What transpired is a long and upsetting comedy of errors that made me never want to work with these people again. Instead of relating the entire story, I leave you with this. I ordered 500, 56 page BW Zines which cost me 3000.00 dollars. I was concerned with the printing quality, the richness of the blacks, the alignment of the double page spreads, and the sharpness of the press. Typical issues when you are paying for a quality product. After many problems I conceded to accept that the product I would receive would be top notch and I had nothing to worry about despite evidence to the contrary. Reassurances were many. Little did I know that you could print a job and then completely screw the shipment so that one looses almost half the product one paid for on the way to your door. All of these worries went into direct relief when I received my shipment. 4 boxes. 125 books each. packed without ANY PROTECTIVE PACKING MATERIALS whatsoever. At 44 lbs for each box, every time my shipment was set down, the books on the edge were irreparably damaged. Each had bent edges, creased pages, and corners that had seen better days. I assumed that when you buy something it shows up as purchased but what I received looked like it had been through a washing machine. When I wrote to Radix and Zippity Print about the issue they flat out lied and said that they had checked with their shipping services who assured them that "all packages had been sent out with appropriate packing materials." I was told that UPS had clearly irreparably damaged the 4 boxes they shipped to me, unboxed the damaged goods and then reboxed it without any protective materials. They told me my issue was with UPS. When I asked for Zippity Print to help me identify their boxes in order to make a legitimate claim to UPS, I got no response. Funny how all 4 of the boxes that made it to me had a Cleveland Ohio packing materials company stamp on each of them. Seems like the boxes probably left Zippity print without and protection and they wanted to blame it on UPS. I lost a lot of money on this job. Before you work with these people I would suggest checking out the competition. There are lots of places that will do your prints for less and probably pack the job so that it arrives intact. I can't recommend Radix highly enough. I recently planned a conference and needed last minute programs. I'd formatted everything for web, not print, making it a big undertaking to get it all into digestible booklet format -- and I had no idea how I was going to get it done. Enter Radix. I printed a small run of coloring books at Radix Media and the experience was stellar from beginning to end! I am a graphic designer and have worked with many print shops in NYC. This is the first one I can 100% recommend. I'm so happy to have found Radix. The printed work came out gorgeous and very high quality. The paper, the ink, the binding -- everything was just right. It was even packaged in a convenient sturdy box that made it easy to transport. The communication and service along the way was expert and dependable at every step. Best people in printing. Period. I had to get done a project with tight deadline and tight budget. Dale and Lantz are very patient and really listen and super nice. They communicated with me at odd hours not just 9-5 and made sure to get the job done. You won't hear "No" from these guys. They will try their best. They can do everything! So glad I found Radix. I was fed up with online printers where you can never really talk to a real person. Wanting to find a local place I stumbled upon Radix. I printed a set of business cards via digital printing with Radix and I am very happy with the outcome. Lantz and Bekah are very professional and super nice. I had procrastinated on getting postcards printed for a work event, and I assumed that I would have to order from a certain online printing giant in order to get the job done on time and within budget. On a whim, I did a quick internet search for local print shops and found Radix Media. When I called, they were super friendly and helpful. They undercut the aforementioned printing giant (on recycled cardstock, even!) and turned the job around within 24 hours. They patiently walked me through setting up the file for the best results, and the cards looked flawless. I will definitely be back! read more

These guys were awesome, extremely fast turn around and great customer service. We had two sets of business cards made and not only did they work with us to schedule an odd hours pick up time for our convenience, but they turned them around very quickly and they look great. In the past we were using Send 2 print in williamsburg but the turnaround was much slower (they didn't print in house) which meant that if something was printed incorrectly (which happened several times) we had to wait twice as long. Lantz and Dale just printed up a full color comic for me. It was a somewhat complex job, but they figured out how to get it done, and it's looks much better than I was hoping for. What I really appreciated was the time they took to explain the process, so we could get it right. They're incredibly patient. I feel much more prepared to create my work for print now. I came to Radix Media because I needed a few hundred cards and postcards printed from my artwork. Lantz and Dale were BEYOND accommodating. This process was new to me and they were very patient, responsive, and even helped scan and set up my documents for printing. The quality of the prints was stunning, and I loved being able to come by to see the proofs. This small and attentive shop is a wonderful alternative to the black box of getting cards printed online.
