I'm really taken aback by the negative reviews. I have never had a bad experience at Radnor Vet--and I'm here every month. They are extremely accommodating and are able to see my rabbits the day of if need be. Additionally, they have walk-in appointments that are about twice the amount of a normal exam fee, which are very convenient for emergencies. The vets always follow up after a visit, and they also respond by e-mail quickly. All the staff (receptionists and vet techs) are so nice as well. I also wanted to note that a lot of the reviews state that they should have been provided more information. I feel that I'm always provided the information I need, but I'm also well-versed in rabbit care to determine what questions I need to ask about my rabbits' care. If you're not asked about blood work, you should be asking instead of wondering why you haven't been asked? Doing blood work has always been made clear to me before procedures, and I know that they would be more than happy to run a panel for your pet. I have had one experience with Dr. Donato in my three years as a client and did not find him to be "arrogant or money-hungry" at all. He told me that I seemed like I knew what I was doing in terms of taking care of my rabbit and even took me to the back to let me see the x-ray of my rabbit's stomach. read more

Your response speaks volumes, and now I totally understand why your front office staff/office manager are the way they are and why they mishandled this situation. 1. It doesn't matter who is registered on your records, it is OUR FAMILY pet, AND I am the one who brings our rabbit in for treatment and pays the bills! So, if my daughter isn't around, I am the one that is to be addressed...Period! 2. I have been living while being BLACK for 56 years now, and how dare you tell me who/what isn't racist to me, or state how I should or shouldn't feel during some of the interactions I've had there. 3. You need to speak what you know and not what you were told. You have a bunch of false and twisted statements in your response. You weren't there, and by chance you were, you should have stood up and handled the situation in a correct and professional manner. 4.Your office manager DID NOT apologize to my daughter at all. The apology only came when I spoke to her and brought it to her attention that she didn't, only then did she apologize to me. Also, you failed to comment on the threat that your office manager made (which is probably you) insinuating that I should not make the statement that I felt this situation was racially motivated. I'm not surprised though after reading your response and you or your staff not taking any accountability. Some food for thought. It's not always what you say, it's HOW you say it! That's customer service 101. 5. Speaking of being rude? Well maybe if you train your front line not to be rude, then maybe they would not receive it back. Try training them to be kind and helpful, instead of short and snippy! And for the record, I am only referring to about 3 people on the front-line staff that I have encountered within this last year 6. I could go on and on, but it's so not worth it. But I will say in closing, we don't need your validation or approval to take our business elsewhere. Took great care of our bird when she was very sick. She was seen the same day and was diagnosed and started treatment the same day.

Brought my grand dog here because she was having trouble breathing. The vet who saw her was found a lump in her throat almost immediately. They xrayed the lump and took a needle biopsy. We had the results the next day. The vet was very kind and explained all of our options. This is a really nice facility. Staff were all very nice. They seem to treat all kinds of animals. I even saw a giant tortoise while I was waiting. Separate areas for dogs vs other animals. TVs to watch while you wait. I would bring my pets here if I lived in the area. read more

I had Dr. Donato for my chinchilla Peppers visit today as her eye was not right. He was incredibly kind, patient, gentle with pepper and answered all our questions. You are promoting false info as the owner of this place. The fact is my cat got sedated WITHOUT prior blood work! The last blood work was done in summer. This time you could careless about him, i was told he was very irritated and your doctor decided to sedate him without checking his blood test. I'm sure if he did, he would have had to refuse the service-and your hospital would have lost money. I despise people like you. I hope you will go out of business soon. Radnor is clearly the BEST vet clinic (and great for boarding too). Our rabbit was dying: hadn't eaten for 2 weeks and stank of infection. 3 other vets didn't help. The last "exotic specialist" charged $900 for a blood test and quoted $1400 more for a CT scan before even starting the $3-5,000 surgery, which we couldn't afford. Desperate, we emailed Radnor Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Cortell replied the same day with a clear path at a fraction of the cost. The next day, Dr. Diamond stayed late to see our rabbit and plan immediate next steps. We saw her expertise and compassion. She called us daily with updates and options to speed recovery and manage cost. Dr. Diamond and her team saved our rabbit. I've searched for other vets (since we now live 2 hours away), but Radnor is simply the best: skilled, caring vets and staff who manage cost while delivering excellent care. Took my bunny in for a bladder flush last Thursday. Was told everything went well. Sunday we had to put our poor little bunny to sleep. When we questioned the vet we were told that we declined pre op bloodwork. Which is a blatant lie. I'm a Dr I would have absolutely wanted bloodwork done it was just never mentioned. Then we were told that they never heard from us post surgery. Again. A lie. My daughter spoke to the Dr on Friday and even sent her a video of my bunny in obvious distress. It's bad enough that you went ahead and did a procedure without any pre op blood work. But then you ignored our calls for help when something was obviously wrong . This is regarding the care for a rabbit. If I could give them zero starts, I would. I don't enjoy posting bad reviews but feel it is important because we have to be advocates for our pets. I have always been told that you need an exotic vet for rabbits but there are not any local to me and have never had a medical issue until two weeks ago. I called one of the main rabbit savvy vets in Philly but they did not have any appointments and was recommended to call Radnor. I brought my almost 3 yr old mini lop to Radnor as an emergency for GI stasis. He needed a scan and had a large blockage and had to stay overnight which I was totally fine with. Was told he may pass overnight. There was mention of a hereditary disease in passing due to his spotting but was never told the name. It was a scary moment and I didn't even think to ask additional questions. Luckily he passed a large bowel movement and was able to come home the next day with meds. One week later, he went back into GI stasis and was back at Radnor. Was told he needed another scan which was fine, I was willing to do whatever was needed to save him. Was told he "could pass away" during the scan because of the stress... he had gotten two scans the week prior and that was never mentioned. Ok, I guess we cross our fingers, do the scan. Scan is done and again he had some blockage but another round of meds was needed. This hereditary disease was brought up again but was never told the name and zero additional info was provided. No recommendations of diet change, any special care that may be required... just that he may need meds for the rest of his life. We leave the office and go home. 2 days later he is back is GI stasis. I call the office and explain he had not had a bowel movement for about 16 hours and had not eaten anything other than critical care for 24 hours. The vet we had been seeing called me back and said we needed to come in again and would have to consider quality of life. I got off the phone devastated of course and it took me about 20 mins and I decided to not accept that putting him to sleep was the only option and began my own research. Found a great youtube video about Megacolon -- the disease that I was not given a name for. Contacted the woman in the video who works at a rescue in NC and does not have any vet training, just tons of experience with rabbits with this disease and has kept many alive for years. The most simple thing she told me to do - syringe unsweetened coconut water to hydrate the gut. Stop anything with sugar, it is not tolerable with this disease among a few other dietary changes. Not only that but one of his prescriptions is for the top of the gut and there is another medication that will work better and is for the bottom of the gut which is where this disease is. Needless to say, I canceled his appointment that day. It was a rough 24 hours but 3 days later and he is thriving. Back to eating his hay, lots of good bowel movements, drinking tons of water. I am just in such disbelief that a "rabbit savvy" doctor did not give me a single suggestion of how to deal with this disease and made me think I was going to have to put him down. I should not have to be googling how to save my rabbit's life. I will never go back to this hospital. PLEASE always advocate for your pets, they do not have a voice. Get second opinions if needed and damn google it if you have to. read more

Very recently Dr. Kozma has taken care of our dog and both of our cats. He is thorough, easy to talk to, listens, and has a natural rapport with our pets, who are all terrified of strangers. I normally don't choose providers and am always happy with any of the vets at Radnor, but I may start to request Dr. Kozma, a great addition to this superb practice. And a shout out to the front office staff, who are kind, efficient, and always willing to work with us by providing itemized receipts and any info needed for our pet insurance company. I pass many local vet practices to travel out to Radnor because they are worth the trip every time. read more

Our dog was left in the care of Radnor Veterinary Hospital on Saturday at approximately 11;00 am He walked in with a good appetite and a feisty demeanor He was handed to us only three days later almost lifeless He was limp and lethargic His hair was badly matted on one side His tongue was crusted over and dry as a proverbial dog bone as it hung out of his motionless mouth The young girl who delivered our dog to us casually dismissed my wife's concerns as unfounded She mumbled something about dogs sometimes being stressed out by boarding We returned to the hospital even before arriving home as our dog lay lifeless on the front seat of our car He was pronounced dead by the doctor only minutes after being returned to Radnor Not once were we called by Radnor to indicate that our poor pooch was not eating or drinking - nor were we advised that he was in any kind of medical distress of any kind Our dog was neglected while in their care and essentially left to die alone and afraid while we were away for three short days No explanation has been offered - nor any apology extended I am certain Leonard D will come on to deflect blame - or worse yet - point his finger at us The truth is that this facility allowed our poor little dog to languish in their care and eventually die a slow painful death Feel free to call me if you have any questions Tom B 267-524-1118 read more

Very first appointment, halfway through the appointment the doctor was pulled out of the exam room by another person. Granted, as an owner I realize things happen, but my boy has successfully battled diabetes, UTIs, urinary blockages, surgery, pancreatitis, etc. with my help and guidance as the parent. At nearly 16, he needs a primary doctor that he actually going to 'stay in the exam room' and as the parent I actually like being there during the exam instead of being excused halfway through the appointment (complete disregard for my boy's well-being as a senior) Devon is much better and caring. Cat had classic symptoms of UTI. Peeing on rug and bath mat. Not moving much. They tested and said no UTI though for both cats and women these tests are fairly unreliable. Made me feel guilty because I didn't want to run extra tests. So I did. They gave her some pain meds- 4 prefilled vials at unbelievable prices and some $5 per pill... Which I had to come back for for some anti inflammatory. Like 4 pills. No help. In the end .85 cents of amoxicillin over a few days cured her. Fine now. Which we could have just tried from the description of the problem before racking up $700! The Go-Broke-Here Vet who didn't help my now fine cat. Went because they had an immediate opening. Now I know why. They could have given me the pills the day before as they didn't ever look at the cat again- then front desk woman gave me a hard time about printing out visit notes! After $700! I took my rabbit in for an appointment with Dr.Ehrlich to discuss possible treatment options for bladder sludge. He was having accidents outside his litter box and straining to urinate. She expressed my rabbit's bladder in office, did an X-ray and recommended a bladder flush. We were told that this would completely empty his bladder and make urinating easier. We scheduled the flush for Thurs 8/4/23. My husband picked up our rabbit a few hours after the procedure and we were told it was a success. We were given an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and was told he may be tired for 24-48 hours. When my husband brought our rabbit home he was extremely lethargic, had crust all over his eyes and had a black bottom. You think someone would have cleaned him after his procedure. The next morning my daughter was alarmed because our rabbit was not eating and straining to urinate. She called Dr. Ehrlich, shared her concerns and sent a video of our rabbit straining to urinate. He was obviously in pain. Dr. Ehrlich said she "wasn't concerned", this was part of the normal recovery and DID NOT need to be seen. She only recommended Critical Care. This did not sit right with me since giving Critical Care has nothing to do with urinating. We should have brought him in anyway but trusted her opinion. On Saturday he was still very lethargic, refusing to eat and in obvious pain. Radnor was closed so we took him to an emergency vet they had recommended on their office message. Unfortunately our rabbit had to be put to sleep on Sunday morning due to his organs failing, not being able to pass urine or eat due to pain. We are devastated ! We were told that if he had been seen earlier, the outcome may have been different. I'm not sure if Dr. Ehrlich missed a possible blockage after the procedure or something inadvertently happened during the bladder flush, but her lack of follow-up care for our rabbit the next day when he was obviously suffering is unacceptable. After speaking to my daughter the morning after the procedure (Friday 8/5/23) and seeing a video of my rabbit in distress, she should have insisted on an immediate follow up visit THAT DAY ! This rabbit was part of our family and meant the world to us. This is pure negligence and we would never recommend this hospital to anyone ! I wrote a review on Google and Radnor's response included false information to obviously cover their doctor and her errors. They said we refused pre-op blood work for our rabbit which we declined (it was never offered) and that my daughter did not speak with Dr. Ehrlich the day after our rabbit's procedure. My husband wrote a second review confirming mine and their response to him was that my daughter DID speak to Dr. Ehrlich the day after the procedure and they "mistyped" that on their response to me. Responding with false information to to try and cover their doctor's obvious negligence is very disturbing. My husband is a doctor and said the way they handled things is beyond unethical. I would avoid this practice at all costs. There are many poor reviews on Google for rabbits taken to this practice. I think it's very interesting that everyone who has had a horrible experience at Radnor is "spreading misinformation" according to Leonard D. MY BUNNY MIGHT STILL BE ALIVE HAD I NOT TAKEN HIM TO RADNOR VET! Please please read this and take this into account when deciding where to bring your beloved family member. My baby, Mr. Man, was the best bunny I've ever known and I grew up with rabbits since I was 5. We brought him to Radnor vet due to sniffles and nasal discharge. They put him on a round of antibiotics, he was still sniffling. Brought him back, they put him on another round. Still didn't work, brought him back and they AGAIN put him on another round of antibiotics. I cant recall how many rounds it was but It was 3 minimum. His first appointment was Feb 13th 2019 and was seen multiple times after that on March 4, 6, 13, and 28th ..... a total of 5 visits for the SAME issue. We stopped bringing him because we realized nothing they were doing was working and they also made us feel like since there were no other symptoms, there was no issue or urgency or even any concern. Flash forward to last month, I woke up and saw Mr.Man breathing heavily and not wanting to eat, not even his favorite treat. I called immediately and he was in for an emergency appointment an hour later. Two hours after him being there I get a call that he died. The vet had the NERVE to tell me that by the time they realized he was dead too much time had passed and there was no chance of resuscitation because he was already cold. HORRIBLE TO HEAR. Now I'm going back in my head thinking .... if they had just cared a little bit more and used a little bit more critical thinking they would have thought hmm this rabbit was in 4-5 times for the SAME issue maybe we should do bloodwork or try a different approach. My boyfriend is a doctor and challenged the critical thinking aspect of it, they said their critical thinking was that they changed his medication. I shouldn't as a pet owner have to look back and blame myself for not demanding bloodwork, not demanding more effort. They never once made it seem in the five visits he had within a month that bloodwork was needed or suggested. Had they said ONCE that they aren't sure why he is chronically sick let's do bloodwork I would agree to it obviously. and had that bloodwork or more in depth care taken place we could have figured out the issue in time. But instead he suffered silently and died alone in a cage in the back room of Radnor vet that they call the 'emergency ward'. If you want a vet staff who cares for your animal like it is theirs, Radnor vet is not the place. Had I brought him somewhere else on that first visit Feb 13th 2019 I strongly feel he would still be alive. Rest in peace Mr. Man im so so sorry I trusted Radnor vet with your wellbeing. UPDATE - Radnor vet has decided to respond to my comment by saying I'm lying and exaggerating. What an embarrassment and shame for them. They also decided to block me on social media for posting my story. What kind of medical clinic blocks someone? The kind that's trying to hide something. NOTHING of this review is exaggerated. It's also horrible how almost every negative review has a response from them with a negative, petty attitude. It wasn't enough for you that your lack of care and critical thinking killed my pet, you had to then go and respond with an attitude and call me a liar. It's sad and a huge embarrassment for Radnor Vet. Give your customer service rep some training on compassion and how to interact and respond to customers. They also never made repeated attempts to explain the situation. I had to call them 2 times before finally being called back. Also when we went to pick up mr mans body for a proper by burial, the front desk staff just handed him over to us. The owner responded to my review with nothing but lies-at check in NO ONE made any mention of my dog's "condition"-this is a blatant lie. You claim you weren't my dog's doctor-he is a patient at the veterinary doctors next door!! So do you make it a normal practice to take in sick dogs for boarding that you know nothing about in terms of their medical history? You allow sick dogs to be kenneled in your facility? Your lies do nothing but prove you are covering up for the neglect that occurred at the boarding facility. A dog doesn't get dehydrated in a matter of hours. The girl who handed me back Max didn't think something was wrong when she took a limp and lifeless dog our of the kennel he was in?? He couldn't even stand- his hair was all matted on one side of his face and his tongue was hanging out of his mouth and DRIED OUT-again this happened over the course of a few days. He had been lying like that for quite a while -does your kennel not assess the animals regularly? I picked him up in the morning-no one assessed him that morning ? I called your place at least eight times over the course of two days to speak with you and to get some answers and some sort of apology -almost every time I was sent to voicemail except one where I was put on hold for a few minutes then disconnected -your staff obviously saw my number on the caller ID and were instructed to send my call straight to voicemail, which I am sure of because later in the day I received a call from Dr. Humetic, and he said he knows I was looking to speak to a manger but he was calling to offer condolences and answer any medical questions I had-I hadn't given my name when I called to ask for a manger, and the woman didn't ask my name when she put me on hold, so you obviously knew it was me calling -Dr Humentic was the first one to offer condolences and he was very helpful and compassionate during this nightmare. When you finally called me back the next day well over 24 hours later, and after you made sure to respond to reviews online with your lies-( I pointed this out to you on the phone) it was a 38 second call where you said "well I didn't know we were going to be adversarial-sorry to hear about Max" and hung up on me. I wasn't yelling, (I wasn't being irrational, I just pointed out that it has been a full day and no one had called or reached out but you made time to respond to reviews). I called back and finally got through to the receptionist - Michalea who was very sweet and finally offered condolences- only to have the owner call the Radnor police to tell me I wasn't welcome at their establishment anymore for my other animals -as though I would bring my animals there again for them to kill??? The police officer offered me some other agencies to report them to, which I have, so that ended up being beneficial, thank you for that. Look at previous negative reviews on here where they were responsible for other animals deaths-his normal reaction is to blame the pet owner and not take responsibility for his establishment's failures. The lack of compassion, empathy, and accountability is disgusting and abhorrent - you have no business taking care of animals and should be ashamed that this little dog suffered and died a lonely death in your care. I've made several trips to Radnor Veterinary hospital because they have an avian certified veterinarian. Unfortunately, my experience has been mixed. The doctor I saw (who was not avian certified because I was unable to get an appointment with the one who is) was professional and helpful. However, I have been less than impressed with their attention to detail and communication. My parrot was scheduled to be groomed while boarded, but they forgot. They scheduled a complimentary grooming for her which I appreciate. Of course, I did have to drive 40 minutes each way to bring her back for the grooming. Then, after I got her the second time, they again did not complete the grooming. In addition to this, it is difficult to get a person to answer the phone when you call. So, good docs, I think, but a disorganized practice. read more

Had pretty positive experiences here, despite the unfortunate prognosis for my cockatiel. It's hard enough finding avian vets and only years ago, the only option in the relative area was at UPenn! It was easy enough to find the hospital and parking spaces were plentiful (proximity to the door is helpful when you're carrying a large cage, or walking in other animals). Both times I visited, I was seen in a timely manner (much faster than my doctors) and was not left waiting very long. The exam rooms were nice and bright, and I always felt like my bird was in good care with the nurses. Dr. Ehrlich was very kind and informative when addressing my bird's issues. She went through the various treatment options and offered her recommendation as well, without putting any pressure to go one way or the other. I feel we all did our best for him, and when he passed (at home), Dr. Ehrlich followed up to offer her condolences, which was appreciated. read more

MY HOUSE BUNNY WOULD STILL BE ALIVE HAD I NOT DECIDED TO GO TO RADNOR for a second opinion. (I am being forced to give this establishment one star, When I would prefer giving it zero stars.) My bunny originally was diagnosed with what seemed to be a common bacterial ear infection. Initially, she was being treated with antibiotics (AB) for 8+ weeks, with no improvement. When the infection was not improving, I decided to take her to RADNOR for a second opinion. I informed the vet that after 8+ weeks of AB there was no improvement (her ear had become huge, hard like a rock, blackened, and had gunk and discharge in it). She was also developing a head tilt. Despite 8+ weeks of AB, RADNOR decided to continue her on the same antibiotics for an undetermined amount of time??? And still with no improvement. AT THE START WITH RADNOR, WHY WAS THERE NO SUGGESTION OF BLOODWORK?? In my opinion, it was their responsibility, as professionals, and not mine, to suggest that lab work be done immediately. There was obviously something wrong. A note: I had used this vet in the past and had spent thousands of dollars there, as I've raised House Rabbits for 30+ years. But, I made the decision years ago to depart from them because Dr. Donato (owner) was arrogant, rude and I have 'never' in my lifetime experienced a veterinarian as MONEY-DRIVEN as he. But for the sake of my sick bunny, plus knowing that RADNOR was a bunny-specific veterinary hospital, I 'reluctantly' returned. But again, ONLY for the health and well-being of my beloved bunny. I had only last year rescued her from an abusive situation, when she was dumped in a parking lot in a box in NJ. Finally, RADNOR suggested a CT scan be done. CT scans require anesthesia for bunnies. Anesthesia can be risky for buns. It is a commonality. At the same time, I learned that a hospital in Mt. Laurel had a state of the art CT scan machine that would eliminate the need for anesthesia. Sadly, the CT showed there was a tumor beginning in her ear plus she had cancer cells that were metastasizing! POINT: A comprehensive lab work-up would have caught those cancer cells. Why was that not done? It was bad enough that I had to let her go, because I was told by the vet in NJ that she had no chance of recovery...but now I receive an email from RADNOR not to come back! Why?? Most likely because they were angry that I took her to another hospital. I took her to the other hospital for the CT scan only! And why, when I first brought her there and explained that antibiotics were not working, did they continue the same identical treatment? If you read other reviews here, people will also talk about "Robbery", as well as "arrogance" and "rudeness" from Dr. Donato. Just to be clear so that there's no confusion whatsoever, I only returned there for the sake of my sick bunny. To save her. And then they are so unprofessionally vindictive to tell me I'm not welcome there any longer. And I know the reason why. It's because I went to another facility for the CAT scan. In summary, please please take this under serious advisement and AVOID this establishment. If you have a pet that requires an exotics veterinarian, there are many others in the surrounding areas including Washington Avenue Animal Hospital in Philly and Second Street Hospital which is a brand new state of the art facility that I see has been getting very good reviews. It's shame that they have resorted to such pettiness, since there was absolutely not one iota of misinformation or exaggeration on my part. The review is 100% accurate. In addition, they have actually blocked me from social media for telling my story! And the owner has threatened me with "following up with Police action" if I should continue telling my story (YELP, are you listening?) This only confirms to me that they have some serious concerns about many of their negative reviews from former patients. Finally, I wanted to add that I made a call just the other day to speak with the Clinician who was caring for my rabbit (I had to wait until she returned from maternity leave) to ask a few questions about my bunny's final demise. My request for a return call was IGNORED. Hmm.. why? In response to Dr. Donato, yes, the Dr. did call me and explained everything to me 20 mins after I originally arrived to pick him up and the receptionist had no idea what was going on, like I previously said. Some advice, if you tell your clients a Dr. will check in halfway through a day long procedure, you should. You should also give live updates to your receptionists so that clients don't show up and are subsequently given the wrong information. And in response to you closing early... I called well in advance and was told a Dr. would call me back (again maybe talk to your receptionists). Given the fact my dog was in the very early stages of his diabetes and between curve tests, him being as sick as he was could not wait 2 days. And if you actually cared about your patients, you would understand that. Ultimately, I'm sorry this practice has lost my respect because my dog used to love coming here, but I'm not going to risk his life over lack of qualified staffing. His new vet is very loving and calls me once a week to check in on him and has assured me they would never not return my phone call if he was sick. read more

Had to take my leopard gecko here today. The vet (Dr. Beaudry) was very thorough when checking her over. She showed me what was going on with her ear and explained everything extremely well. Please, do not take your pet to The Radnor Dog Club (Part of Radnor Veterinary Hospital). We boarded our pup there this week and my dog (18lbs) was attacked by a 115lb Mastiff due to the negligence of The Radnor Dog Club. They allowed 2 Mastiffs to be "handled" by a petite young woman (1 Mastiff on a leash and 1 Mastiff not leased at all) when one of them unexpectedly lunged my dog. She was not able to control the dog as it sunk its teeth into the back half of my little guy. Now, they are refusing to provide me with any information to report this dog to the authorities, so this dog will have NO legal record of aggressive behavior. Although his flesh wounds and teeth punctures will heal, I'm terrified that this will negatively impact his sociability with other dogs. Boarding at The Radnor Dog Club is not worth the risk! read more

The care that our bunny Midnight gets here at this practice is excellent! From Receptionists, Vet Techs, and Doctors everyone is caring, knowledgeable, and professional. Recently Midnight had dental surgery. He first saw Dr. Donato for the diagnosis, and Dr. Beaudry did the surgery. Both were excellent! I was very impressed at how Dr. Beaudry called me and updated me on how Midnight did with the surgery, and what she found. She explained everything in terms that I could completely understand. I am thankful to all at this practice for all that they do! read more

The horror of my African Grey's demise will no doubt haunt me forever. I left him for boarding at Radnor Vet in early June. He was a great bird. He had lived with me for 40 years and had absolutely no health problems. I routinely had him evaluated and had him down at University of Penn for a full day wellness check. I was extremely hands on with my boy Simon and very well informed on a bird's needs and nutrition. When I dropped Simon off I left him with lots of his favorite foods, both fresh and dry. I also left many toys. Not one of his toys were given to him, and 90 % of his food came home with him. The doctor's excuse was that he or one of his staff evaluated the toys for safety, and decided not to use them. Similar story with the food. The doctor's excuse was that they probably used their own mixture which is most likely just like mine. I question and highly doubt that the food at the boarding facility comes close to my carefully thought out and lovingly prepared mix that I have created for my bird. So this caretaker unilaterally decided that he or his staff knew what was best for my bird. I took Simon home and in a relatively short time period noticed that his breathing was labored. I returned him to Dr. Donato. Upon examination the doctor stated that he seemed fine and he could not hear anything unusual. He prescribed an antibiotic, Baytril, for stress. (I realized that it was not a treatment for stress but out of desperation tried it anyway). Simon passed away several days later. His labored breathing never improved. My belief is that Simon was injured by one of the incompetent people working at the facility. He could have been captured/ mishandled with a net or squeezed too tightly by someone trying to retrieve him. That particular employee stated that he was hard to capture and she had to use gloves. I was not allowed to go get him. After the fact I sent a letter asking some hard questions to Dr. Donato. To date, there has been no response. When I made the boarding appointment, and also on the day when I dropped Simon off, no one mentioned that they evaluate the food and toys brought in and that they determine if it's suitable for the pet. Shouldn't the owner of the pet have the right to decline boarding if informed beforehand that this facility decides what food and toys the pet should be given? Please go elsewhere if you want to board your pet. I sure wish I had. read more

My rabbit was returned to me traumatized. Idk what happened but i would not feel ok with leaving my rabbit there again. I did feel that the my pet's comfort was insufficiently considered. I thought some of the procedures and treatments may have been unnecessary. No mention was made of the fact my rabbit seemed to be healing on her own when i brought her in. Also no instruction was given as to hydration after i mentioned she had stopped drinking upon returning from radnor vet. I kept her alive with eye droppers of water for a week before she started drinking on her own again. I believe she would have died if i had not taken this initiative. Hopefully this was a onetime thing. In the past i was satisfied there, but the two vets i used to see both left. read more

Dr. Donato is the BEST we've seen. My toy poodle was diagnosed with luxating patella and his regular vet recommended seeing a surgeon to explore treatment options. We've visited one surgeon prior who advocated for surgery without much explanation, so I made an appointment at Radnor Vet hoping to get more clarity. Dr. Donato gave my dog a physical exam, and explained in details the 4 levels of luxating patella and how his current mild condition should not require surgery. Dr. Donato did, however, also spend the time to explain the different techniques of surgery if that is ever required one day. Dr. Donato is very knowledgeable, patient and provided full transparency and details. This visit gave me great confidence that the current treatment (medication only) is the best for my dog. Radnor Vet has been the best to our pets and us. They see our bunnies and dog. Our dog can be a bit manic when he goes to public areas, but they handle him so well! We found Radnor initially because of our first bunny. They came highly recommended to us by other bunny people! They took excellent care of our bun when he had emergency surgery and we were given an extra year and a half with him when most bunnies don't survive. Overall I would HIGHLY recommend Radnor to anyone looking for a vet clinic staffed by kind, professional and highly trained staff. read more
