Best caterer ever! Rafael's catered my son's wedding yesterday and everyone raved about the food. I ordered the pancit, ham, roasted chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, pasta with red sauce, lumpia vegetables, and the tossed green salad. The variety made all the guest happy. They came and set everything up for me and after the wedding packed up the leftovers and cleaned up everything. Beware, they cook up huge portions so you will have leftovers. YUMMY. read more

The food according to all of our guests was DELICIOUS AND AWESOME! of our 250 guests that RSVPd, 232 showed...even with everyone having seconds/thirds&even packing plates to go home, we still had food galore!! The staff members who dropped off and picked up were EXCELLENT and super cool to work with. Rafael's Catering is absolutely and overall the BEST in catering and service! Joe, Frankie, and the rest of the staff are so nice and accommodating. We used their catering for my Mom's retirement party and everyone raved about how good the food was. We had tons of picky eaters at our party and went with the International menu. We scheduled a tasting with Frankie, who is the absolute sweetest! She sent us home to try the items we chose for our menu and some additional items that we may want to try or add on to the menu. Their sample sizes are super generous. Which made us feel pretty darn special. Most places give you only half a pinky size taste. We were able to change out some of the items to better fit our picky eaters. Everyone was pleased with the selections we made and went back for seconds. The staff members that came to help set up and pick up the catering items were friendly and worked quickly. They were super helpful and we couldn't have had a successful party without them. As an event planner, Rafael's catering is exactly the type of vendors you want to have at your party and to work with. I highly recommend you use them for your next party. Thanks yelpers for being accurate with this caterer. Every bit of review was true plus more! Joe, owner of rafael's, is very responsive, accommodating and helpful. He catered our after party wedding dinner in Sonoma last weekend. The location was remote and his staff was able to find it without any problems. The staff was incredibly friendly and quick in their set up of the buffet food. The price he charged us is more than fair. The food they provide is of high quality. All 40 FILIPINO guests of mine would agree that it was really yummy filipino food. Joe was awesome in advising us to bring tupperware containers for leftovers. And there was a lot of them and not because our guests didn't like it...rafael's catering just hooked us up with more than we ordered! Also, Joe was nice enough to include 2 vegetarian plates at no charge even after the contracts has been signed. I didn't realized it until a couple of days before our event and he still accommodated us. You can't go wrong with Rafael's catering with the food, price and service! read more

We contracted with Rafael's to cater a dinner party for 100 guests, and we were very impressed. The food was both delicious and bountiful, with lots of food available to take home afterwards. The planning process was very easy, using Rafael's web site. They have set menus, but are very flexible with substituting other dishes, which can easily be done on the website. An added bonus is that we were able to sample most of the dishes prior to finalizing our order, at no additional cost. Rafael's staff delivered all the dishes to our venue right on time, and came back to pick up the servicing dishes at the end of our party. We recommend Rafael's Catering very highly. read more

First things first. The food was amazing!!! I ordered the traditional American menu and it was awesome! Everyone I talked to absolutely loved it! The only complaint was that OUR plates weren't big enough for all of their food! Joe is awesome! He responded in less than 24 hours every time I emailed him. Most of the time within an hour. We ordered for 200 but had enough food to feed at least 225. And he was very generous with the samples providing enough for about 8 people. He was very prompt and professional. This was my first experience with professional catering and it was awesome!!! read more

It was my daughter's first birthday party that prompted me to order at Rafael's that will be good enough for 50 guests. It was for pick-up. Joe, the owner did a very excellent job in making my party way easier. He is very accurate, responsive and very nice. I rented their heating dishes. (basically free if you return it, no need to wash it afterwards). He is very prompt in replying my needs and answering my questions. 10 minutes before my pick-up time, he called me that everything is ready for pick-up. He loaded it all in my trunk and explained how to use the heating chaffers. Returning the pans are hassle-free. I will recommend this catering if you want a stress-free party. Food tastes great! There were lots of food. My guests have lots to take home, too! Overall, five stars! Thanks for a job well done. I really appreciate everything! Service is the best here! This review is long over due. My family and I have had Rafael's Catering cater many many of our events since 2008. We couldn't get enough of the awesome service and of course. First of all, a huge THANK YOU to Joe. Him and his family are more like family to us now. The food is so delicious. Delivery is awesome. We never have to lift a finger with the delivery service. They set up and come back when your event is done and transfer all the left over food for you to keep. They have a variety of menus to chose from and THEY ARE ALL lovely. We even have Joe cater for Thanksgiving for our family because we don't like to cook on Thanksgiving anymore. We like to relax and enjoy each others company. Whether it is 50 or 1,000 people attending your event Rafael's Catering is the catering business you want to hire. Take it from me, I know. We've had Joe cater for our Mom's funeral for over 1,200 people and we've had him cater a small dinner for 50 people. BOTH times were amazing. I was a first-time customer of Rafael's up until this past sunday. I was hosting my parents' 50th wedding anniversary at my home here in Fremont. I heard about them through a family friend so I gave them a shot. Even though Rafael's is located 30 minutes away, the food was perfect (given enough time to heat up). I ordered the international menu which included dishes ranging from menudo and pancit (my personal fav) to mashed potatoes and pasta. I must say that I underestimated this catering service. For the extremely price they offer, I didn't expect the large amount of food they give. Nor did I expect it to taste as good! All the guests were raving about how delicious everything was.
