Absolutely the worst customer service experience I've had in a long time. This location could really learn a lot from their sister store on Montana and Cotton about how to properly serve customers. I waited in the drive-thru for 15 minutes, only to have the window closed on me--and they weren't even busy. Instead, the staff seemed more focused on joking around in the kitchen while I continued to wait. Eventually, I got so frustrated that I just left. It's especially disappointing because Rafael's burritos are some of the best in the city, but this location clearly doesn't have the staff to match the quality of the food. I ended up going down the street to Taco Palenue, where the service was exceptional. Management seriously needs to address the staffing and service issues at this location. Rajas super burrito... great portion size, the cheese, beans, onions, and green chile paired perfectly for a great tasting burrito!!! 5/5 star rating!! Highly recommend Asada super burrito... I think I was given brisket instead.. the brisket was dry, overly salted, and tasted like Claude's marinade. Absolutely horrible!! Two bites and I threw the burrito away.. Ordered a stake Burrito with everything but beens and they ended up Giving me just a burrito with stake with nothing else just plain , after i told the ladie i wannted it with everything but no beens, i had to put my on lettuce and avocado in it and they charged me 10 dollars, i just hope they could put a lil bit more attention please. Had also been calling them alot of times and there phone was ringing but nobody answered for like 30 min i had to go all they way and wait for the burrito to be made. We were suddenly in need of 60 burritos for a group from out of town and with very little notice Rafa's totally came through! The burritos were massive and delicious! went to get some burritos for myself in the morning around 8:30 am and to start off the service was horrible.. the lady that was helping me with my takeout order called me a güero and was being rude, she made no eye contact with me and answered no questions I had about the food. I saw customers that ordered after me get their food before me. I only ordered two burritos. It was $7 plus taxes for burritos that were soggy and overly seasoned. Been eating Rafa's for years so much better than Bonnie's from the food to the service. Good amount of delicious food for under $10 no more. I'm a student at EPCC and split my lunches in the week here and across the street at El Coco (good restaurant as well) . Rafa's staff are nice. Hands down the best burritos in town! The get the seasoning and spiciness just right! Hand made tortillas and the super large burritos are amazing! The service is also fast and courteous. This place sells Lengua burritos. Just the fact that they sell beef tongue burritos is 5 stars for me. Definitely not a "Austin/Frisco Tex-Mex food lover guy" burrito place. But if you want Gringo style burritos, you are welcome to go to Chuy's. This place serves Juarez style burritos of just a gigantic tortilla, a spread of beans and lots of flavorful whatever you ordered filling. Been a loyal customer for years but I feel the need to give this place a 1 star review. It seems like mine and my fiancé's order is never made right and when we call to get it corrected it feels like pulling teeth. Some of the management was extremely rude today, we where offered a free burrito because they had messed up on our order. So we went to claim it and the manager told my fiancé to always check our bag because it's our responsibility when in fact it's not. The customer shouldn't have to open up their burrito/torta when it's an order to go. First of all opening it up to check let's off all the heat out from the burrito so by the time we get to our destination it will be cold. Second of all opening it up to check will mess up the texture and will have to burrito fall apart. Third and last reason it should be done right so we don't have to go through all the trouble of having to do all that. It's and order to go for a reason, if you're in a rush you don't have time to be checking all the items in your bag plus if you're working for delivery service you're not supposed to open up anything in the bag. I would of relayed this message to the manager who was rude to us but I didn't feel like arguing with the man. I hope this helps future customers know what you might be getting into when your order is messed up. Have easily spend thousands of dollars on this franchise but after today I'll take my money elsewhere. read more

My favorite burrito place in El Paso! I moved to Austin nearly 5 years ago, but I always make sure to stop buy at LEAST once when I go back home to visit. All of their guisados that fill the burritos are soooo delicious, and their tortillas are homemade. And the size! Did I mention that their burros are the size of my entire forearm? I usually just get one and I can eat from it all day long. My two favorites are the mole and the chicharron. Their mole is perfectly made in my opinion; sweet but not too overwhelming. The chicharron and picadillo are also very delicious but also spicy. The verde, rojo, desebrada, and barbacoa are also great. Honestly, I don't think I have ever had a burrito I didn't like from there. This particular location is the one I have frequented the most. I usually order the burritos over the phone to pick up, and they're always ready in about 15 minutes. Sometimes the line gets really long and so this is why I decided to just order over the phone. There's a special "pick up" line at the counter/window so you don't have to wait in the long line to order. The service is always amazing and the people very friendly! read more
