I had a facial scar revision done by Dr. D and he did an incredible job, so much that you'd never know I had the facial injury there to begin with. I then had a revision rhinoplasty and that hasn't been as successful so far. I won't go into great detail regarding that, but he's performed the revision twice because he promised to stay with me to get my nose to an acceptable look. The doctor is patient and kind as well as sympathetic to my needs, however, I wonder if this is something that he's either not skilled to perform, afraid to perform or my issue is worse than he originally thought. Will update after my next follow-up appointment. I was referred to him by a top Newbury St, Boston facial plastic surgeon that was honest and said he couldn't perform the surgery but said Dr. D may be able to. He provided me with the names of two surgeons who he thought could fix my problem and I admit, after talking with Dr. D, I never even went to see the other surgeon because Dr. D said he could get me to 95% satisfaction of where I wanted to me and he was close to where I live. Maybe that was my mistake? The office staff are all so kind and nonjudgemental and I wouldn't even go there if the office people treated me poorly. I'm very fond of the doctor, but I'm not sure he has the skill to perform complex revision rhinoplasty. read more

I'll give him one star merely for his very nice demeanor and personality. Not getting into details about what I had done, but I got hacked. Huge, severely obvious scar right on my forehead and the initial problem wasn't even fixed. And now I can't get him to return any of my phone calls to have this monstrosity fixed. Absolute waste of a lot of money that I had to work two jobs to save up. And not to be dramatic, but I was hopeful to have an issue that was causing me self-esteem issues could have been helped, but it has now gotten worse because in addition to my problem not even remotely being fixed, I've got a giant obvious scar on top of it. It pains me to do a bad review such as this, but I've lost a lot of money to this doctor and have no resolution at all. I wouldn't want anyone else to have to deal with that. Do not go to this doctor. Do your research. Update. It's now been 2 years since my surgery. The scar is still awful despite using scar fading cream. He saw my original review here on yelp and reached out to have me come back. I went back for another appointment and he basically justified it and gave me lots of reasons why id have this scar. Excuses? He recommended I see one of his colleagues, who was located out in Dartmouth. I ended up taking a day off work to go out there for an appointment with her. She gave me her estimate for what it would take to fix it - another $5500. Racket. I shouldn't have to pay thousands to fix a hack job. Don't go to this doctor. I've been getting the runaround since day one and it's aggravating. The scar is absurd and I have so many people staring and asking about it. He is very conservative and kind . I have been extremely satisfied with every service I have received . I had a facelift done by Dr. DeSarkissian and his work far exceeded any expectations I had. I look completely natural and 20 years younger. I interviewed 4 other top notch surgeons and I'm so glad I chose him. My husband is a physician and he was very impressed by Dr. D's skill and attention to detail. He has a board certified anesthesiologist present throughout the surgery and an option to spend the night of surgery convalescing in his clinic with a private duty nurse. I took that option and was glad I did. His skill and services were not reflected in his price, I expected to pay twice what he actually charged. I was referred to dr Der Sarkissian by 2 of my friends. I called 5 times so far and still no luck . They don't want to call me back . I have never seen anything like this . Will try in person . If that does not work will have to leave more precise comments . Very strange difference between all the good life comments from my friends and real experience from the scheduling staff . Very poor results for rhinoplasty. Dr. Der S has destroyed the tip of my nose. he introduced a problem that was not there to begin with. He claims that he can fix anything. Then just right before the sedation, they will ask you to sign a consent saying that they do not guarantee the discussed promised outcome. Yes, the doctor has a nice personality and would give enough time for discussion but that does not justify the poor results of his surgery. read more

I was referred to Dr. Der Sarkissian from a friend- and I don't think I'll ever be able to thank that friend enough. From the moment I met him I KNEW he was the doctor I would be using for my cosmetic procedure. I had met with nearly every "Top Boston Doctor" up and down Commonwealth Avenue and they all left me desiring something more from the person who would eventually have me deep in slumber on their operating room table. Dr. Der Sarkissian had all the qualities I was looking for- he was honest about what I needed to have done, he didn't rush me through the consult or the 3 follow up visits I had with him (mom in tow), he even called me the day after surgery from his personal cell phone to see how I was feeling. Dr.D. is the best! I can't thank him enough for all that he has done for me. I am 52 years old and was a sun bum growing up and I was paying for it until I met Dr.D back in 2000. Dr. D is one of the greatest unrecognized reconstructive plastic surgeons of our generation. He acts with concern, care, and compassion to all his patients no matter of status. I make this statement having had 4 surgeries and 2 well over 10 hours due to a rare hereditary condition. Dr. D works unceremoniously volunteering in developing countries. Dr. D. had an amazing bedside manner. He was genuinely concerned about my issues. I had a mole that in my early years was a gorgeous beauty mark but grew and became discolored. He removed the mole with no scarring left behind! On top of that he happened to notice a suspicious spot on my right calf which, after a biopsy turned out to be precancerous! He removed that as well at a future appointment with no scarring. My next experience was when I had been diagnosed with Squamous cell carcinoma on my right temple. It was removed my Dr. Finn (Separate Practice South Shore Skin Surgeons, Braintree...another amazing experience!) . Dr. D did the follow up repair and it's not even noticeable! Amazing experience! Very rarely will I openly talk about my doctors, but there is one doctor who I have worked with over the last few years who I felt deserved a very special shout out. Dr. Der Sarkissian, is a double board certified facial plastic surgeon, specializing in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the nose, eyes, face and neck. He regularly offers his services free of charge to victims of domestic violence and individuals in the community who are unable to afford reconstructive plastic surgery and travels to El Salvador, Vietnam, Armenia and Ecuador to correct birth defects in children and adults. I am proud to call Dr. D my doctor, my surgeon, and my friend. His humanitarian efforts and specializations were what brought me to him in the beginning, but his perfectionism and dedication to his art and his work have what kept me. Dr. D is one of the best plastic facial surgeons around. I am a nurse,and it is easy for me to check on doctors. He came highly recommended. I especially liked the fact that he specializes in facial, and only does facial procedures. This is something you want your M.D. to be doing daily. He has the best bedside manner, believe me, most surgeons have none. He always responds quickly to my concerns and his secretary Debby is invaluable and also very quick to answer any concerns. If you see him in Boston (Commonwealth Ave), you can only see him on Fridays so if something comes up you have to wait to see him. I offered to go to Quincy at the main office but for whatever reason, I couldn't make that appt. I had something happen after the surgery which surely affected the outcome and reached out to him immediately. I did not see him for a month after that which was too late to do anything at that point. read more
