That is not what happened. The divot was still there, and she added cartilage to make the tip more pronounced which I never wanted! I spent thousands of dollars, which were completely wasted. I decided to go to another surgeon, in Boston, who finally fixed the deviated septum (I am starting to think she didn't even attempt that) and took out the extra cartilage in the tip. It now, looks natural, not like a ski slope. He was an amazing surgeon and I should have gone to him the first time. She also left me with a dull, constant pain in my nose. After this second surgery, the pain is gone. Complete waste of money.

Background info: 27-year-old. I actually came to Dr. Lee with a many-times-over-botched rhinoplasty…read more(sagging-and-still-deviated-septum, pinched tip, tons of visible scar tissue both on the bridge of my nose and in the swollen tip), and continued breathing problems (I had been referred to him by a breathing specialist). I had gone to a surgeon in NYC 5 separate times (4 of which were revisions, the first of which was to fix a deviated septum/breathing issues) who messed up my face. I do modeling for costume events and companies, and so was incredibly insecure about how my nose was looking both in person and in photographs, after the many botched revisions. Dr. Lee: what a warm, incredibly knowledgable, intelligent doctor. He was able to tell me exactly what the original surgeon screwed up and how it happened, what the original surgeon kept doing wrong, and told me what he would be doing to fix it. He also took pictures and showed me through a program exactly how it would look, and why, which made me much more comfortable with having to go under the knife a sixth time. He was also super realistic about what could and couldn't be done in terms of physical limitations (all noses are different and there are only so many things you can do to reshape an individual nose without causing damage or weakening the structure. He was great during surgery prep and immediately post-surgery, made sure I was completely ready to go home and continue post-op care, etc. What did he perform? I had another revision rhinoplasty and septoplasty, where he widened and strengthened the bridge of my nose to breathe, straightened my septum, and removed all scar tissue that shouldn't have been there. I luckily did not need extra cartilage from my ear or rib, or cadaver cartilage. It was an open rhinoplasty (this version IS actually way more accurate than a closed one--if a surgeon does a closed one, he's actually guessing where things are and how much to take out since he can't fully see it--and the outer scar on the septum honestly just disappears to almost nothing, or it goes away entirely--mine literally can't be seen). My nose? I can breathe a bit better since my nose no longer collapses on the sides (allergies are the only problem now), and he has completely restored the look of my nose so that there are no longer horrible scar tissue lumps or a visibly sagging septum. My nose will never be 100% perfect after all of the crap it's endured (again, physical limitations), but I do think he did the best job with it that could be done. I no longer am self-conscious about how my nose looks, and am actually getting more modeling gigs now as well, so it's definitely at 99%. Cost? Plastic surgery isn't something you want to get a "bargain" on. You absolutely get what you pay for. Anything cosmetic isn't covered by insurance; only the medical portion can be covered (ie. breathing issues, if it's proven that medically it can be fixed). Total, the amount was $9 or so (insurance luckily covered the medical portion because there was an ACTUAL medical problem). $5k was for the cosmetic revisions he did; total cost was absolutely what it costs in the Boston area for a rhinoplasty, so it was what I originally estimated it'd cost anyways, and it was completely reasonable. Would I recommend him? As someone who got botched by another surgeon and knows first-hand what it's like to have to deal with the aftermath of a doctor who ISN'T tried and true, I would recommend Dr. Lee in a heartbeat. If he can do revision surgery on a nose that has scarred and damaged tissue from previous surgeries, I can only imagine what he can do for someone who is going in for their first (and only) rhinoplasty or septoplasty.
