It is always very busy, so expect a wait.While the restroom situation could be better, the restaurant is so crowded that it is likely difficult to keep them tidy with the constant amount of foot traffic.I find the service to be professional, but not necessarily helpful if you have questions about the menu. When I pointed out that two tables next to me had arrived after me and were already being served, the server simply told me lying that it was busy because it was the weekend. The service was extremely disappointing, especially considering that I have been a loyal customer. One of my orders never arrived at all. After another long delay, the chicken kebab was finally brought out, but by then I refused it because the situation had become unacceptable. What disappointed me most was the lack of professionalism and customer care. This was my second visit, and it was just as great as the first. Since the wait can be endless during dinner hours, I think I'd go much more often if they had a waitlist system where you could add your name before arriving. The Place was very packed when we first arrived so be prepared for a 30 to an hour wait time but when I tell you it's all very much worth the wait because not only is the service so very quick and nice the food is also so good!!!! Love this place! I ordered the Chicken Soltani and beef koobideh and it was a 100/10! The rice was super fluffy and adding butter on it was chefs kiss. The Chicken Soltani was flavorful and the beef koobideh was juicy! Overall service was good, it was really busy so it was understandable. There's definitely a lot of seating but the only thing I wished for was some AC because it got REALLY hot at one point. I know Glendale gets hot but yeah it was definitely hot the day I went. He didn't family in the North Hollywood and Burbank/Glendale area but he has many friends like me. Mr. Chavoushi was a brilliant mathematician and intimated to us that when he goes, he'd like us to all have dinner on his behalf at Raffis Place. Many of his former students who are now lawyers, doctors, teachers, business owners and fashion designers joined us on his final journey. Wow is this place super busy. Like very very busy. Unfortunately they don't take reservations so my advice is don't come when you're already too hungry lol. I passed by Raffi's Place often in my weekly walks and I finally got a chance to eat there last night with family from San Francisco. I'm so glad this place did not disappoint. First off, it was a Friday night so it was very busy - we were walk-ins and we had to wait 30-45 minutes. They have a place in the back outside with benches so that was thoughtful. The atmosphere inside was warm and friendly. The service and staff was efficient. Our waiter was Marco who was very friendly and visited us often to see if we were enjoying ourselves. The food we ordered was the Shish Kabob made with chunks of tender filet mignon, Rack of Lamb, and Salmon entree. They were kind enough to combine and make it family style for us. The meats were tender and the Salmon was flaky and moist - so delicious that we ordered another round of them LOL! Will definitely be back! We came here for dinner after shopping at the nearby Glendale Galleria. Glendale has a big Armenian population and is known for Mediterranean food, and Raffi's is highly rated so worth a try. After being on the wait list for about an hour (busy Saturday night), we got seated and quickly ordered since we knew the food would also take time (45 minutes, we were told after ordering). We ordered beef koobideh, and Barg which is thinly sliced filet, both served on a bed of saffron rice with roasted tomato and pepper. The koobideh was so good, juicy and well seasoned. The filet was less flavorful and rather bland. We also ordered hummus to share while waiting for the main dishes, and that was very good. The restaurant is packed, but the service was very good. The restaurant is not very well decorated, lacking in ambiance. We would probably come back again for the food, trying other dishes. read more

That Ghormeh Sabzi is delish! I'd definitely come back and I would definitely recommend Raffi's place to anyone in the mood for Persian food. I had the chicken plate (can't remember what combo/style chicken) as well as the Soltani Plate, along with regular drinks soda/water. Ghormeh Sabzi 4/5 very good appetizer. Chicken plate 4/5 chicken was very juice and flavorful Soltani plate 3/5 not really a fan of that style beef where it's ground and kinda dry. The beef chunks were great though. Service was good, the beverage refills and the check ups made it a 5/5. Overall a good spot, I would definitely come back and get the tadig with ghormeh sabzi and that chicken plate all over again. Our experience was extremely disappointing. After waiting 45 minutes, the hostess informed us that they were out of beef koobideh. Fifteen minutes later, we had to ask about our drink order because nothing had arrived. Then, 25 minutes after placing our order, we were told they were also out of chicken koobideh. Throughout all of this, not a single employee apologized. Forty minutes after our order was finally taken, we asked about our food and were told it would be another 15 minutes. The only explanation we received for every delay and problem was, "We're busy." Being busy is not an excuse for poor communication, long delays, and a complete lack of customer service. If menu items are unavailable, customers should be informed before ordering, and at the very least, an apology should be offered. Based on our experience, don't expect timely service or reliable food availability if you decide to eat here. read more

Seems like we all have different taste buds and he took his time to explained everything to us. He was very attentive and definitely made our night very memorable. I've only had him once. I'm hoping we can bump into him again and have him as our waiter but haven't. This is by far one of my favorite Middle Eastern/Persian restaurant and I drive nearly 45 mins to come enjoy their food and ambiance. A decades-old favorite is Raffi's Place, a garden-patio eatery just a stone's throw from the Glendale Galleria. Raffi's main entrance is tucked away off the main street. Guests walk through an ivy-laced gate into a canopied courtyard that doubles as the primary dining space. Industrial space heaters running the length of the garden ensure that it never feels chilly for even a moment. A supplementary indoor dining room branches off from the patio. Countless woven patio chairs are pressed up against the paper-covered tables. Despite the open-air setting and sound-dampening panels, the space roars with chatter. Our party of 3 arrived before 6PM on a Saturday, and the estimated wait was 30 minutes; by the time we were seated, the queue was nearly triple the length. We kicked off our meal with an assortment of appetizer dips. Our favorites were the Ikra (a sweet roasted eggplant dip that reminded us of yams) and the Gheimeh Bademjam (a tangy split pea stew). However, the Mast-o-Khiar (a Persian yogurt dip similar to tzatziki), the citrusy Tabbouleh, and the collard greens-esque Ghormesabzi were no slouches. The buttery Tadig (rice crust) reminded me of the rice stuck to the hot stone bibimbap bowl; that being said, it was underseasoned and needed a dash of salt. For our sole entree, we shared a Soltani Kebab, which featured both Beef Barg (sliced filet) and Beef Koobideh (ground beef). Of the two, I was more impressed by the juicy ground beef; the filet felt too dry. For a small fee, we upgraded our rice to Baghali (cooked with dill and lima bean) and Albaloo (tangy and vibrant pink from black cherry). Perhaps the biggest dud of the night was the lifeless flatbread (which, at least, was free of charge). For dessert, we shared the Faloodeh (semi-frozen cornstarch "noodles" drizzled with rosewater and lime juice) and the Zoolbia & Bameih (fried pastries doused with rosewater syrup). The desserts weren't mindblowing, but they were a fun and unique supplement at a reasonable price. The smartly dressed staff were efficient and professional. Our bill ran just over $100 (after tax and tip), and we were nearly rolling out of the restaurant. We were glad to have shared multiple appetizers with just one entree (we saw another group order 4 entrees, and the servers preemptively brought a few of the largest takeout boxes I've ever seen). Each kabob platter was large enough to feed 2-3 diners, and the specialty rice options were well worth the surcharge. RAffis is the best Persian/Middle Eastern/Armenian restaurant in all of Glendale, In me and my girlfriends opinions. This is the only place we have dinner, or lunch whenever we have get together parties or gatherings with her family in the area. I went for the Lamb Kebab and Chops plate with vegetables and all. She want the Chicken Kebab plate. We all had a nice graduation party of one of her cousins that live here in Glendale. We had fun eating lots of cuisines. This was the best Persian cuisine I've ever had. Visited Glendale on a work trip just to try Raffi's since I heard so much about it. Came to Raffi's on a Sunday evening around 6pm and the place was packed. The host told me the wait was 60-75 minutes long. They take no reservations but they do use yelp to manage the queue. You put your name on their list and then you can click on the yelp link to view your place in line. I decided to browse the Glendale Galleria while I was waiting for my table. There is a public parking garage that offers 90 minutes of free parking but Raffi's also offers valet parking. There is also street parking as well. We sat in their outdoor terrace that was covered. Immediately we were greeted by our server and he came with a complimentary basket of the Persian flat bread and butter along with a plate of radish, onions, and parsley. We ordered the hummus and it was so creamy and delicious. Highly recommend it and it went well with the bread. We also ordered the Tadig crispy rice appetizer plain. Our server was so kind to let us sample the ghormesabzi and gheimeh to try with the tadig. I would say the Gheimeh was my favorite to eat with the crispy rice. I enjoyed the tomato based flavors vs the ghormesabzi veggie stew which was too bland for me. For our entrees we got the Beef Koobideh plate and the Chicken Koobideh. Both the plates came with a huge amount of rice which was surprisingly very buttery and fluffy, a perfect compliment to the grilled ground meat. It also came with grilled tomato and green pepper. Over all the beef and the chicken was packed with flavor. The only thing I wished Raffi's had was like their homemade sauce. We were reaching for some type of yogurt or hot sauce to go with the entrees that we got accustomed to getting when dining at Mediterranean restaurants. Our server told us all they had was Tabasco or Cholula hot sauce. For dessert with ordered the Spumoni cake. It was delicious but the ice cream was so frozen it was difficult to eat.
