Came here around 1pm on Saturday. Parked in one of the garages (first 90pack free) There was almost no wait, but the restaurant was pretty full already. Service was a little slow but they are busy. Food was amazing! Fresh, flavorful, and huge huge portions. We got the beef soltani and the chicken soltani. The beef was so tender and juicy. Chicken was also cooked well and plump. When in LA , go to Glendale and make it a point to dine at Raffi's place. Been doing this for a bit and this time it would be to write down a review for a place that we crave and do make a point to visit, every time we happen to be in town. Parking is at the back side and so is the entrance location. We were there on a Thursday where it was pretty crowded for a weekday but thankfully no lines to wait. Got checked in and were seated inside. Rosaura who was our host for the evening along with Alex who served us were amazing through and through and got us going right away with the bread , butter and sabzi that was brought out in no time. I checked with Rosaura about Halal food and she mentioned all of the chicken and lamb items are Halal and we went ahead with our order. The food was yummy and especially good was the Mast-o-Musir combination along with the rack of lamb. The Soltani came out amazing as well and Kashk Bademjan is something that you can never go wrong with at Raffi's place. Rosaura and Alex kept checking with us all this while and made sure we had everything we needed and our wait time was next to none right from the beginning to the end whether it be for water, sabzi or our food. The legend lives up to the hype. Every meal here has been wonderful and here are my top tips: 1. Ikra (Eggplant dip): This is a blend of eggplant and tomato and no words can really describe it. It's delicious with the lavash bread, it's delicious with the rice, I can eat spoonfuls of it by itself, or you can make a wrap with the lavash bread and meat and this as the sauce. It's better than hummus, it's better than baba ganoush, and I don't understand how nobody else has this on their menu. 2. Albaloo Polo (Cherry rice): Definitely upgrade your rice to this. The rice is red from the black cherries and benefits from the extra fragrance. The plentiful cherries add some sweetness that really complements every bite. Not many restaurants offer this on the menu so this is an absolute must when I come here. 3. Chicken thigh: The chicken is tender, flavorful, and they give you big pieces. The chicken breast is still good but not as moist as the thigh. The ground chicken and the ground beef are always tasty. The beef is tender and not chewy. The portions are huge. The servers are friendly. Park at the structure around the corner behind King Taco (where the street doesn't go through because there are tables). When you want Mediterranean or Persian food, this is the gold standard. read more

Not sure what the last 2 one-star reviews were all about, but my first meal of 2024 here after attending the Rose Parade was an exceptionally good beef khoobideh rice plate, and the service was prompt and courteous, nothing out of place. Caveat- due to the gigantic plates, one entree can satisfy for two hungry people. Also, you cannot order only a' la carte kabobs; the first item has to be a full plate. read more

The meat was juicy and grilled to perfection. The steak kebab especially delicious. We ordered tabbouleh, humus and baba ganoush with carmelized onions as appetizer/sides. Don't miss the baba ganoush eggplant with the carmelized onions! It takes the eggplant beyond! As much as we loved the food, glad to report the service was equally wonderful. Came here again, finally after years. I got the soltani, a chicken koobideh with a beef barg. It all just melted in my mouth it was so good! I came with a large group and everyone agreed that the food was excellent. The portions were huge as well! Love coming here, one of the best spots for kabob. It does get crowded so make sure you arrive early and not when you're starving lol! Parking: they have valet for 10 bucks and there is a parking structure across the street. The service here is attentive and really friendly, filling our water glasses frequently and checking up on us multiple times to see if we needed anything. I ordered the Barg Kabob ($29) which came with sliced filet mignon, rice, and charred tomato and pepper. They also have pita bread, onions, basil, tomatoes, and cilantro for the table. The portion sizes here are HUGE - you really can split a plate between 2 people. I did wish they included some hummus on the plate as it was a tad bit dry. The food was still delicious and flavorful and I'd love to come back and try their other dishes. This makes my second visit to Raffi's place. Not close to home but we'll worth the hour drive. All rice dishes are fabulous even the plain basmati rice. I loved the rice with herbs. The mint tea is a great presentation. The bread with some butter and fresh basil makes for a great appetizer. The Hummus is top notch flavor. Fire roasted meats, well no wrong choices. The white fish is great. Jessie is a great server and will answer all questions and he gives honest opinions. The location is fabulously decorated semi al fresco. Can't say it enough but this place is a MUST GO. Whether you live locally, or traveling from somewhere else, please just go. You will not regret it. The only "issue" is the wait if you go during peak times. The one item I wouldn't order again is the yogurt soda. I know it's a popular drink here, but I wasn't a fan. If you look around when you're seated at your table, 4 out of 5 tables probably have at least one of these on theirs. Maybe it's my untrained taste buds? Give it a go if you're up for trying new things. As always, the main dishes are fantastic. You honestly can't go wrong with anything, but the koobideh is my personal favorite. The restaurant is quite unassuming when you walk in, but the food is delicious. We ordered the shirazi salad and the salmon kabob, and the portion sizes were huge! The rice was beautifully buttery, and the salmon was tender. However, I wish it came with some kind of sauce, because it was a little dry if it wasn't eaten with the salad that we ordered as a side. We the cherry rice here! Both the Koobideh (skewered ground beef) and the Chicken Kabob had so much flavor! The baklava was ok. Drenched in honey. Little pistachio. Though food took a long time, our server was wise to let us know when we ordered. Most of the restaurant is in a covered outdoor patio which is a beautiful, but also very busy setting. Expect a wait if you come during prime dining hours and they don't take reservations, BUT the good thing is that there are plenty of stores to walk to including The Americana (outdoor mall) which has beautiful decor and fountain. Pro Tip: you can pay $10 for valet parking OR park in the public parking lot on Artsakh (west of the restaurant) for the first 90 minutes free and $1 for every 30 mins thereafter. The ambiance was nice and open. Valet parking was difficult to find, and cash payment was only accepted; it was $10 for parking. I had the lamb shank, which I didn't care for. The waiter was attentive and friendly and went above and beyond. After noticing I didn't care for my meal, the waiter offered to replace my meal with something else of my liking. That speaks volumes about service for me. However, I'm not familiar with Mediterranean food, so I need to develop my palate. Next time, I'll ask for suggestions. Holy heck! Raffi's place was amazing! We've been wanting to try this place out for a good while now and the day finally came. The food is so tasty, big portions, so if you want to share, there is plenty for that. Unless you have a big appetite then go right ahead and devour that plate. We did have to wait about 45 min for our food to come out after we ordered but I'm assuming because it was on a Saturday night... or is it always like that? Regardless, once our food came out, it was time to grub!!! Hummus was 10/10 I will order two hummus plates next time, one while I wait for my food and the other while I'm eating my food. Chicken was tasty and well cooked! Love that! Rice, amazing! Ambiance, the best, all of their servers are quick and attentive. Best service by all means, despite it being busy.
