We had a large party and they did an awesome job. It was pasta night, so I ordered the Lobster Ravioli. For $26.99, you got a small salad, your pasta dish and dessert. The salad was good and go with the tiramisu, not the Napoleon. The lobster ravioli was also good but too salty. Spice level was nice. Just too salty. Those who ordered it (three other women) also agreed it was too salty but nobody sent it back. I kind of wish I had but it was tolerable. I wish I had ordered differently. Other than that, it was a top notch experience. I would recommend Ragazzi's.

A great Italian spot! Haven't been here in years, but I'll definitely be coming back. Great size portions for the price, which means left overs for the next day! Service was great, and food came out quickly and correct. Nice ambiance, lots of seating, and bar space as well. Looking forward to coming back!

My mother in law was really excited to go here. We made reservations for 7 and were promptly seated on arrival. If you have a hard time seeing, you'll definitely need assistance with the menu, lighting is dim inside, so much so that even the photos were hard to take. But there is outdoor seating with umbrellas. A fairly large menu in terms of options. Our server was a delight. I was thoroughly impressed with the cocktail 'Cielo', so good I had two. We ordered a slew of appetizers, none of which came out hot ... I'd describe it kinda sorta maybe pushing it warm. I'd even say like it was frozen food sitting out cooked hours ago, sitting on counter that you nuked in microwave for less than 30 seconds. I'll give you an example the mozzarella cheese was no where near gooey or melted, I wish I had taken a video splitting it open. It wasn't a split, it was no where near boomerang worthy. Even the meatballs, you'd figure packed with heat, smh. My sister also described her dish as funky freezer tasting. Ehhh maybe it was a bad night or busy? Maybe give it another chance.

Ordered take out of our favorite dishes capellini frutti di mare (angel hair pasta with shrimp, scallops and calamari in a spicy fra diavlo sauce) and pappardelle bolognese. Caesar salad was good too. They gave us a generous amount of bread and garlic knots too.

Fantastic Food, Excellent Service, just a wonderful Experience! The food and service at Ragazzi Italian Restaurant are outstanding. There are many gluten-free options available on their menu, such as fried mozzarella and rice balls. The portions are substantial, and the meals were all very delicious, fresh, and tastefully presented. Roger, the owner, and Mike, the General Manager, both went above and above for my wife and me. To commemorate our anniversary, they made sure we had a lovely booth. Landon, our server, was fantastic; he was kind, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. To make it a warm and unforgettable event, everyone went above and beyond. For Italian food, this is a must-try.

The best part of the night was our server. The food not so good, it's pretty much an Olive Garden but nicer inside.

Not much from what I remember. You'll get a few more well known beers, but nothing super crafty/local.

First, I would give this Italian restaurant 3-1/2 stars but that's not an option unfortunately…read more There were lots of good things but the inconsistencies makes it a 3-1/2 instead of a 4 star. Upon entering we were warmly welcomed. While we decided on what we would be having, we were given complimentary fried zucchini strips & bread. The wait staff is very attentive. Having never been here but using Yelp as my foodie guide, with its high star rating, I somehow missed that this establishment is prixe fixed so you cannot order a La carte anything. I honestly wish I had read more reviews instead of focusing on just the high-star rating. Anyway, the prize fixed menu includes appetizer, main entree, dessert and coffee for $38.95 with up charges for specific items that are clearly marked. Of course, both myself and my hubby chose entrees (veal parmigiana and meat lasagna) with a $5.95 up charge for each. On this Friday night, there was live music. It was very fitting for this Italian restaurant with its cozy Italian bistro/cafe atmosphere. It made it feel like date night. Hearing the music in the background was very enjoyable. Now the food, which came out in a nice even pace so we were not rushed. The appetizers of baked clams and eggplant rollatine were good. My veal parmigiana was absolutely delicious and prepared perfectly. My hubby's meat lasagna was good but in comparison to my dish it missed the mark. The desserts & coffee were fine, but certainly nothing overly special. I'm the person who looks at dessert first because I look forward to that extra special thing at the end of the meal. Overall a nice dinner out with my hubby.

Service - 4/5 - friendly and attentive. Ambiance - 3/5 - nice vibe with open fire, slightly tacky and dark. Overall - 4/5 - this is one of those places that is worth visiting once then probably not again. Everything was good but for the price you can get equally as good food at a budget. Food was really good, particularly the Wild Boar Gnocchi Ragu & Pistachio Cake, both easily worth a try. Service was great as well. Friendly, attentive, some conversation there, was good service. Ambiance was a mixed bag. While the indoors is really nice with a cool open flame, it can be dark inside and a little tacky (easy 4 if it wasn't as dark). Definitely worth a visit at one point but not as a regular spot. Best Dish - Wild Boar Ragu Gnocchi, Pistachio Cake Would Return - Probably not

Mixed feelings. So…read moremany friends have spoken so highly of this place that I felt we HAD to give it a try. They also cautioned about the price so, after selling off an inherited Monet, off we went! Umbra is in a nondescript strip mall with a Thai place next door. Dark, front-facing windows give it a chic look but... oh no... fake flowers. Normally, not a big deal but for a place known for being upscale, it seemed incongruous for the vibe. More on that later. Inside was cool and urban chic. Long bar gives view of their famous oven. Seating was comfortable enough though the artificial flowers and grapes (circa 1984 Patchogue's Fantasy Gardens) detracted. I get that they're trying to do an Italian countryside thing but it seemed forced. The food was a mixed bag. Wagyu tartar with quail egg was pretty awesome; rich, minerally, unctuous. So far so good. Cocktail was tasty and the wine was fine. But then... Wife got a pasta dish that she was happy with. She found it to be very good but not exemplary. I ordered the veal osso buco which was a tremendous disappointment. The bed of risotto was terrific but it seemed like they simply placed several (small) medallions of veal in the middle surrounding a tiny bone and then dropped sauce all over it. I'm a grown man and have faced all sorts of disappointments in my life (being an Islanders fan conditions you to this) but I kinda wanted to cry when that came to the table. I've had osso buco other places and this plate fell well short. (I actually was arguing with a friend who is a tremendous fan of Umbra and, when I showed him the pic, he fell silent. I included pics of two other osso bucos for comparison). Friends had mentioned that the steaks are really good here but I kinda go to steak joints for steaks, ya dig? They make their own pasta so maybe I should have chosen one of those dishes. Affogato for dessert which was less than what I was expecting but is (according to friend in the know) the classic and traditional preparation so no real complaints there. The service was very good, however. Both our waitress and the bartender/sommelier were attentive, friendly and well-informed. All-in-all, a nice place. A VERY nice place. But I think it's a tad overpriced and overhyped for what it is. We usually like to give a spot a second or third try but at the price point, probably not. Give it a shot if you've got money to burn but be aware of the cost and that some things may fall short of your expectations.

Everything was delicious and fresh, I only wished I lived close to this place because I would eat here all the time. Monday night dinner and only a few tables were filled which seemed strange to me since the food was A+, but the takeout was poppin. We started with 6 garlic knots. If you think you only need 6...you are wrong. You need 12, I'm serious! Such warm, crusty, garlicky goodness, they were gone in 60 seconds and we had to order more. - Caprese salad had perfectly ripe yellow and red tomato with a seriously gigantic ball of buffalo mozz - Caesar salad was a little too heavy on the dressing - fresh pasta so good! Papparadella with pesto and fresh mozz & rigatoni bolognese. Flavorful sauces! - Forresta pizza crust was so perfectly thin & crispy and the prosciutto was shaved thin and cooked crispy. Great combo with the arugula - sadly they were out of the tiramasu and sorbet so we tried a cannoli and it was very large filled with rich creamy ricotta and chocolate chips - thanks to a fellow yelper find...they have Mexican Coke! Recently, I decided to give it another shot on two separate times, and some of their specialty pies: the vodka pizza with a garlic knot crust and the trio pizza (pesto, marinara, and vodka). I'll start with the positives--service was friendly and welcoming, which definitely made the experience more pleasant. And to be fair, the flavors across the pies were actually pretty good. The sauces complemented each other well. That said, the biggest issue--was the dough. It was noticeably undercooked which made the slices a bit doughy and hard to enjoy. On top of that, the pizza was quite greasy, which didn't help the overall texture. The undercooked dough stood out enough that it took away from what could have been a really solid pie. Another small note: the dining area looked like it could've used a quick sweep. Not a huge deal, but something that affects the overall impression when you walk in. I wouldn't completely write this place off, because the flavors are there and the staff is friendly. If I give it another try, I'd probably stick with a regular pie or maybe a Sicilian and specifically ask for it to be cooked well done. I think that could make a big difference.
