Food is always delicious. They have a wide variety and they are pretty accommodating about allergies.

Went on a Monday night with two friends, one of whom is gluten free. I arrived a bit early checked in with the host then waited in the bar. It was early, we had a 5pm reservation and the restaurant was pretty quiet. My friends arrived a few minutes later and we were seated immediately also in the bar area as was requested. Our waitress came over to ask about drinks then the busboy arrived with warm garlic knots and focaccia, both were very good. We ordered the gluten free fried zucchini, which I have to say I liked better then most other versions I've had. It seems they have an extensive menu of gluten free options which my friend appreciated very much. I got the Pollo Florendena which is two large chicken cutlets breaded and fried with spinach & mozzarella in a brown gravy served with vegg (string beans) and a small potato croquette. The chicken was tender, the gravy tasty and the beans not over cooked. The potato was meh. I took home most of my dinner. One friend ordered the Tortellini Aligherieri but substituted GF pasta, she enjoyed it very much. The other person ordered Vitello Saltimbocca which is veal with prosciutto, eggplant and mozz in a marsala sauce. It usually comes with veg & pot but she substituted penna in a garlic oil sauce which was very good. We had no room for dessert but there were many selections and one day I'll try. All in all a very nice meal, the restaurant has no issue making substitution, the portions are very large and prices were reasonable. We had a large party and they did an awesome job. It was pasta night, so I ordered the Lobster Ravioli. For $26.99, you got a small salad, your pasta dish and dessert. The salad was good and go with the tiramisu, not the Napoleon. The lobster ravioli was also good but too salty. Spice level was nice. Just too salty. Those who ordered it (three other women) also agreed it was too salty but nobody sent it back. I kind of wish I had but it was tolerable. I wish I had ordered differently. I wouldn't even give this place one star. For starters the service is terrible. We spent $155 on this meal which was overpriced and not worth it for an Italian restaurant. Their portions are not big. My husband got penne à la vodka with shrimp and had four shrimp and it was $35. Penne à la vodka are they crazy? Four lousy shrimp? Our server was also extremely rude. After we got our entrées, the server never came back to the table and we were waiting over 20 minutes for the bill. We even left her a nice tip that we shouldn't have. While we were waiting 20 minutes for the server, we saw her drinking wine behind the bar, very professional . That is unacceptable . The bus boy there gave better service than the server. We will never come back here again. I wouldn't even give this place one star there are definitely better Italian places to spend your money and your time. read more

My mother in law was really excited to go here. We made reservations for 7 and were promptly seated on arrival. If you have a hard time seeing, you'll definitely need assistance with the menu, lighting is dim inside, so much so that even the photos were hard to take. But there is outdoor seating with umbrellas. A fairly large menu in terms of options. Our server was a delight. I was thoroughly impressed with the cocktail 'Cielo', so good I had two. We ordered a slew of appetizers, none of which came out hot ... I'd describe it kinda sorta maybe pushing it warm. I'd even say like it was frozen food sitting out cooked hours ago, sitting on counter that you nuked in microwave for less than 30 seconds. I'll give you an example the mozzarella cheese was no where near gooey or melted, I wish I had taken a video splitting it open. It wasn't a split, it was no where near boomerang worthy. Fantastic Food, Excellent Service, just a wonderful Experience! The food and service at Ragazzi Italian Restaurant are outstanding. There are many gluten-free options available on their menu, such as fried mozzarella and rice balls. The portions are substantial, and the meals were all very delicious, fresh, and tastefully presented. Roger, the owner, and Mike, the General Manager, both went above and above for my wife and me. To commemorate our anniversary, they made sure we had a lovely booth. Landon, our server, was fantastic; he was kind, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Been here a few times now. Went in to celebrate Son's Birthday. Service was good, food was ok this time. Portions were way off people got the same thing one was a lot little than the other, or it was bigger than the other for the same thing you would think that it would be exactly made but it wasn't. Ramsey would be upset lol. Same thing with desserts portions that were served were big medium and large they were not all the same for the same dessert ordered. I don't know if it was just the night off that they were having or what was going on new chef in the kitchen? Not in a hurry to go back but will go back eventually. If I could give a 0 I would. The only great thing about this place is the staff, super kind and attentive. However, if you claim to enjoy Italian food then I'm not sure how you could eat here. I got the pappardelle bolognese and it was all oil, and acidic tomato. The meat in the sauce wasn't even seasoned, just meatballs from other dishes cut up for this one. I'm not even trying to argue the authenticity of this place, obviously uncle Giuseppe's is more authentic than this. I have never given a bad review...... but this has been bothering me so much I had to let customers know.. we went with my parents. My dad ordered chicken scarpiello ON THE BONE. He told waiter twice he doesn't want it off the bone. Waiter says no problem. Well... dad's meal comes out NOT on bone. We tell waiter and he takes it back. The rest of us didn't start our meals as to wait for dad's meal to be corrected. After 13 minutes I went up to manager and told him the issue and said our meals were now cold. He said he'll send someone in back to check it out. He did not apologize, didn't come to our table nothing. Then we are not told we have another waiter. Someone else comes over and asked if we needed anything,,, now I tell her we are still waiting for corrected meal . She says "do you want to speak with a manager" I said "I already did and now he's at bar eating! By the time dad's meal came out our meals not edible - too cold. I wrapped mine up and my husband ate his ravioli cold. And my dad only had TWO pieces of chicken on the bone in his new dish! We had a big bill. Appetizer, bottle of wine, plus 2 other glasses, 4 meals, dessert and my husband and dad got an after dinner frangelica .... We thought at least my dad's cordial would have been in the house! I've never been to a restaurant where a manager doesn't come to table if somethings wrong. Plus... this has happened here before. Dad asks for same meal on the and it comes off the bone! Plus, it was 3:00 we were there and were given dinner menus instead of the lunch menus which are til 4::00. Whenever I call to see if we can sit outside we are told to call back at 4:00 the manager will decide.... We wanted to sit outside that day but nothing was set up. Anyway, I had to vent. I recently celebrated a 40th birthday at Ragazzi in Smithtown. The food was very good, and everyone in our group enjoyed their meals. Unfortunately, the service significantly took away from the experience. Our waiter came across as dismissive, particularly when it came to ordering drinks. He did not consistently ask each guest if they wanted a beverage and seemed visibly annoyed when doing so. Given that our group ordered multiple rounds of drinks and had a substantial bill, this was disappointing. Later in the evening, around 9:30 PM (with the restaurant closing at 10), service became even more limited. We actually left our table and moved to the bar area to allow staff to clean up, and we remained standing rather than sitting so as not to interfere with closing. Despite this, it still felt as though staff were avoiding serving us additional drinks, even with the restaurant nearly empty. As paying customers--many of us simply enjoying a rare night out--we expected more attentive and welcoming service. We tipped well, but the level of service did not reflect that standard. While the food was good, the overall experience left us hesitant to return. If serving beverages is viewed as an inconvenience, it may be worth reevaluating how that aspect of service is handled. read more

Chose this restaurant due to its gluten free options for my daughter. She had been here before and liked her meal so we decided to stop here for a meal. Inside of the restaurant is very nice.....great bar area with TV's playing the Yankee game (a definite plus for me). Wait staff was great.....above average. I had the Rigatoni ala vodka with chicken cutlet and she had the marinara pizza. Both dishes were very good. We also had the rice balls for an appetizer which we enjoyed. No sticker shock with the price.....was about what you would expect for a good meal. We will definitely be back in the future. If you're gluten free they have plenty of options. read more

I made reservations several days in advance and even confirmed them the day before (Friday) to ensure everything would go smoothly. We arrived early for our reservation, only to be made to wait about 20 minutes past our time. When we were finally seated, it was in the bar area, despite specifically requesting restaurant seating in our reservation. We were told a "quiet booth" was being prepared--what we actually got felt like being thrown into the bar like a walk-in. I guess because we were a party of two, it was assumed we wouldn't notice or mind. We did. To make matters worse, the table wasn't even properly cleaned. The paper covering the tablecloth had visible stains--lipstick, wine, or even blood (honestly couldn't tell). When my husband pointed it out, the waitress responded with, "I can change it, I guess I'll have to fully reset the table and reseat you." She acted like she was doing us a favor just to give us a clean table and clearly didn't want to be bothered--everything about it felt reluctant. So we stood there while everything was redone. The area itself was just as bad--the floor underneath our booth was wet and covered with past diners' napkins. It was absolutely disgusting. We were also seated directly under a blower, and it was 37 degrees outside--I had to keep my jacket on the entire meal. Service didn't improve from there. The waitress was standoffish and unfriendly the entire time. Bread wasn't brought out until we asked, and when it finally came, it was ice cold. Her response was a quick "sorry, they should have brought this already"--but it was clear she didn't really care. And for the record--we are not bad tippers. We always tip well. Attitude like that is just unnecessary. Then, right after the table was reset, the busboy spilled water across a large portion of the table while filling my glass. At that point, we were so over it we didn't even bother saying anything. After the issue with the dirty table, no manager ever came back to check on us. We just got a quick "have a great night guys" on the way out. It's clear there's a lack of awareness--or concern--about what's actually happening in the restaurant. Just because you're located near Smith Haven Mall doesn't mean you can rely on foot traffic and ignore the guest experience. We've seen how that ends--Bahama Breeze closed for a reason. Take better care of your guests. Honor reservations on time. If someone requests restaurant seating, don't put them in the bar and act like it's an upgrade. And at the very least--make sure the table is clean. We won't be back. read more

Party of 10 on a Saturday night at 6:00. Noticed right away that they had many big groups which I knew as someone in the business that service will be slow, but i never in my 35 years in hospitality experienced what we had. I was OK with the how long the entrees took, but when the server brings out 7 of the 10 and then asks the other 3 what did they order I knew there was a problem!!! 5 minutes later my wife's food comes out (at this point we told the rest of the family to eat so it didn't get cold) 5 minutes later my completely tasteless linguini & clams comes out & now we are waiting on the last dish which took another 10 minutes and i am no exaggerating!!! My wife got up to speak with a man that looked like a manager, but basically stayed by the hostess desk chatting with them. (there use to be a gentleman that constantly walked the room checking on everyone's tables). Needless to say we did not have dinner together & the manager never came by. A matter of fact upon leaving he is outside looking at the flowers he looked our way & did not say a word. I don't know if he was an owner or a manager, but he would not last long with me. The server was pleasnat but it didn't seem to faze him that we did not get to eat together. The bus staff just start cleaning while half the table is still eating and then I have to have his elbow in my face the whole time. They did credit the last meal that came out, but i would rather pay full price and enjoy the evening then to save the $21. What a disaster of an evening. I think instead of accepting every reservation with big parties at the same time they should tell people we can not accommodate. I would have preferred that and went somewhere else or just order in. Don't eat at Ragazzi's unless you want to throw up. Ragazzi's USED to be fantastic 10-15 years ago. NOT ANYMORE!! Their rice balls were HORRIBLE and They used to be famous, The veal dishes were HORRIBLE and used to be excellent, and the food actually tasted like someone cared but NOT ANYMORE. Ragazzi's is now the WORST RESTAURANT MEAL ANS FOOD I've ever had.. Did they replace the chef with someone who doesn't know how to cook or follow a recipe? Because every dish we ordered -- including some of the most expensive "best" items on the menu -- was bland, tasteless, overcooked, and honestly tasted like the cheapest ingredients possible were used. The rice balls they were once known for are now horrible. I Remember as I met the person who created them! And they were great 20 years ago!!! The veal had no flavor whatsoever. Ketchup and scrambled eggs would have been a better meal. Honestly, a frozen Lean Cuisine probably would too. We ordered house specialties and signature dishes thinking those HAD to still be good. They weren't. The saddest part is this dinner was paid for with a generous gift card from sweet people new to the area who remembered Ragazzi's old reputation. We left most of the food untouched on the plates because it was THAT bad. Even a high school cafeteria would have done better. The waiter was kind, but management had "stepped out." We got takeout from Ragazzi, on a Saturday afternoon. Enterring the restaurant, It took an inordinately long time to get someone to help me, even though the order was already sitting near the front desk. When we got the order home (Tre Combo), we were underwhelmed by the food. The meatball was leaden, the lasagna barely had any cheese and the chicken parm was dry and tough. Also, there was barely any sauce on these items. Then, to add insult to injury, most of the included rolls were burnt on the bottom. Topping it off, we might have gotten sick from the meal. Overall, we found this meal to be the equivalent of low-end cafeteria food. After this experience, I really don't know where all the 5-star reviews are coming from. We won't be going back. read more

First time visiting this Italian restaurant with friends and I had a great experience from the time we walked in till we left. The service was outstanding and very professional and the restaurant offers gluten free options. We were warmly greeted when we walked in and were shown to our table by Michael the manger on duty that evening. Our server Anthony was outstanding offering suggestions and being patient while some of our party took their time ordering. The food, both appetizers and main dishes, were outstanding. I was very impressed that the manager Michael stopped by our table at least three times to check in on our experience, something that does not happen at most restaurants we visit. Restaurant does have a separate bar area opposite the main dining room. Rafazzi conveniently located Off Route 25. There's ample parking including spaces for veterans and food pickups. I kept hearing great things about this place so I finally went and I am glad I checked it out! They start you off with an amazing bread basket. The garlic knots and focaccia were outstanding. We got the mozz in carrozza appetizer which was essentially large mozz stick wedges. They were awesome. My husband got the shrimp francese (he said it was good) and I asked for them to make me gnocchi with red sauce and melted mozz and boy was I happy when they brought me the biggest plate of gnocchi I have ever seen. The food and service were great. I didn't love having to sit at a hightop even with a reservation but the service at the hightops was on point! They were also decorated beautifully for the holidays which was really nice. And if you're eating gluten free it seems like just about anything on the menu could be made gluten free including the bread basket. Which is a huge plus. We will definitely be back. read more

My boyfriend put me on to this restaurant, and it doesn't disappoint! This was my second time here. The service is impeccable. The owner came over to make sure we were well taken care of and the waitress was very attentive too. Our glasses were always full and they made sure we had bread. Who doesn't love a restaurant with a free bread basket? I love their pizza bread, it's my favorite. I got the Capellini Al' Orto and got it with penne pasta. The hubby chose this place the night of his birthday (a big one!) due to so many positive reviews. The food was just okay; nothing offensive but definitely not special and kind of blah. The service from the waitress was okay, the host was especially nice. After dinner the paper that serves as a tablecloth wasn't cleaned off so when they brought over a sparkler with our desserts to recognize the birthday I didn't feel like taking a picture with the crumbs and such. At one point our bread plates were removed too and we were still working on the bread basket. Just feels like they're trying to be fancy but aren't quite sure how to be. This was my first time here for lunch at this lovely Italian restaurant. My first impression walking in was that the restaurant was extremely dark .i had to use my phones light to read the menu . Other than that everything else was very nice . Everyone was very welcoming , professional and attentive . We were immediately seated and brought the wine and lunch menu. We ordered some drinks and took our time and wasn't at all rushed . I ordered the tortellini vegetable soup and a Parmesan chicken panini , which came with a side salad . It was a lot to eat so I did bring home half of what I had ordered . It was a very large bowl of soup , nicely seasoned and not salty .There was a plentiful amount of veggies and a nice amount of tortellini's . It was very good ! Yummy ! The panini was also made well . The chicken was very tender and moist but the sauce , for my taste , was a bit acidy. What can I say? I've been past this place a million times and have never been in until some friends wanted to go. It is nice inside. They have a bar, different levels of seating, and they had the lighting was low. There was a party of about 10 in the area we sat and there were still about 6 tables for 4 in the area so seating is not an issue. They take reservations which is nice but the thing that really impressed me was the amount of gluten free options they offer! They make a number of the items on their menu gluten free, including multiple desert options. That paired with the wonderful service from the servers and the managers this place is a must! read more

We had a 545 reservation, we were five minutes late so we checked in at 550, we also apologized for being a bit late, we were then told to sit and wait, that's fine. About 7 couples/groups came in after us and were immediately taken to a table since they "knew" the owner. My boyfriend and I got our 545 table at 625. AFTER, multiple other couples who came in after us got seated. So not a great start at all. The food wasn't great. It really wasn't. Our waiter was fantastic and very attentive but food was severely lacking. The arancini were flavorless and the marina sauce tasted very sugary. Similar to Applebees or chilis. The main course was alright. I had the cavatappi escarole with chicken. I should have had it without the chicken as it was a little dry and again not as flavorful as the broth itself. Which I must say was delicious. Overall it was a disappointing Valentine's Day dinner. We were overlooked, multiple times, the food wasn't great, and on a personal note it was just way too loud for me. My pros were our amazing waiter, my glass of Riesling, and the bread. You can't not love bread. I don't see myself going back to ragazzi on my own. After last night, it's left a pretty sour taste in my mouth. All I can say is make sure you have a reservation, and make sure you know the owners because even with your reservation you'll be waiting 20 plus minutes. read more

Holy wow I think I'm in love. Came in based on reviews and they did not disappoint. I got their mule and it was *chefs kiss* perfection. Plus I love fruit in cocktails as a little snack. Just enough ginger beer. Perfect. I got the rigatoni vodka and woah it was amazing. Tasty and next time I'll have to see if I can get grilled asparagus with it. Husband got their salmon dish based off of the server's suggestion and he loved it. And he's picky with his salmon.
