I ordered their bone-in pork chops in a brown sugar marinade, with a loaded bake potato, and my wife had their all day breakfast (2 eggs, bacon, toast, hash brown casserole, and a waffle on the side). The pork chops were grilled to perfection and delicious! The baked potato was very good and very large. The star of the whole meal was their hash brown casserole! Do not sleep on this! It's made with (I think) pepper Jack cheese, and it was amazing! If you are in the area, well worth stopping in to check out. Looks like they have a nice outdoor patio, so I'm sure it would be even better in the summer.

This is a good thing as I think they're able to really focus on and dial in on what they do. The inside is decorated with lots of bits of Americana and old timey gas station signs and the like. There are many many aprons hung around the place as decoration as well. Right as you walk in there's a big WALL OF MUGS and you grab a coffee mug off of there to bring to the table if you'll be having coffee. They are all different and a majority of them today were Christmas themed as today is Christmas Eve. They do a good job of keeping your coffee cup topped off. I ordered biscuits and gravy, 2 eggs over easy, and sourdough toast. Everything was very good and the gravy was nicely seasoned which is often lacking at restaurants (IMHO).

I'll give them credit for being fresh-fried and having a good dough flavor. The apple fritter was particularly good, with nice big chunks of apple. However, I found some of the donuts (especially the glazed) to be too soft, and many donuts had so much sweetness in the dough that it was overwhelming when taken together with the glaze. They definitely deserve their reputation and their regular crowd, but I don't think I'd make a special trip from Bloomington.

There were many patrons going in and out with bags of donuts when I arrived early morning. I needed a treat to take to an event and, of course, I found out last minute. The shop is pristine and simple. The cases were filled with amazing donuts, cookies and cakes. There was so much to chose from. Those cream pies were incredibly tempting. I opted for a tray of turtle brownies. The brownies were smothered in caramel and nuts. The chocolate brownies was the consistency of a rich fudge. Needless to say, the brownies disappeared fast, so fast that I didn't have a chance to get a photo. The service was quick and friendly and I was off in a flash. Prices are incredibly reasonable. I plan on trying those iconic cookies on my next visit. I highly, recommend.

The server got these right out of the fryer and they were hot. The dipping sauces were a great addition and bother were very tasty and compliments the rings. My entree was a hand breaded tenderloin. Again, the breading was well seasoned and the tenderloin was a good thickness. It came with all the trimmings which were fresh. One thing to note was the lettuce was cold and crisp...this is a huge plus with me. The side dish for the tenderloin were potato slabs. These slabs were like a fried potato thickness but were very lightly breaded. I'd not had anything like these before. I wasn't a real fan of these things but they were different. Just not my thing. I think they have a way to go to get a 5th star from me but it is a very solid 4 stars. I can't wait to go back and try their burger. Over all this place didn't disappoint.
