Delicious! Great beer delicious food and friendly service. Everything you could want. The alligator tail was delicious, crisp and hot. The blackened white fish sandwich was tender and flavorful. The house Italian dressing was delicious. And I have not had house chips that were more on point, ever! Clean and well designed and decorated. There's nothing I didn't like about this place. The food was amazing and unique, and I was more than satisfied with the selection of beer. A charming waitress named Andrea took care of us & answered all of our questions. My wife & I pass through this town when we visit family, and I'll be sure to return here next time. read more

Friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere. They have a great menu, but the food is just ok. It just seemed everything was a little under cooked and nothing was really hot. The rice in the etouffee was crunchy. A large portion of the greens in my salad should not have been used. Would go back for a drink and maybe an appetizer, but not for a meal. read more

This place is amazing in all ways possible. It incorporates the burgers from a burger joint, Cajun food and southern hospitality, and overall amazing food from a high class restaurant (which it is) the staff is great. The gumbo is to die for, and the hot wings are worth the wait for them. The decor and atmosphere brings a southern hospitality to the room and make you feel at home. Really good food and atmosphere. I had the burger with smoked gouda and bacon. My wife had alligator and a salad. The burger was great and the smoked gouda was a cheese sauce which really made the burger. My wife loved the alligator which came with a Creole dipping sauce. I had an ice cold Blue Moon and they had a great selection of beer on tap. Will definitely be back. Also had a nice outdoor patio which will be nice this summer. read more

The food tastes pretty good when you can get what you want. I was sort of bummed, when on a Sunday night, I could not order the pasta I wanted from the dinner menu. They serve the dinner side of their menu only after 4pm BUT.... not on Sundays. Maybe reprint your menus so that you only show what you are currently serving. Or make sure the only waitress who is on staff knows to tell all of the tables this before they sit for ten minutes deciding what to get. Then they didn't have my backup plan, which was the pulled pork. Also not very kid friendly, as they do not have milk, there is a limited number of tables that the high chairs reach, and there is no "kids menu" with crayons (I know. ... something we could easily bring along. .but really I like a restaurant with some good kid entertainment) Now I'm getting picky, but the main issue is not having all the food available and bad service. The waitress also spent time engaging in a personal conversation with another table while our appetizer sat ready to come out. Will think twice about going again. read more

Great beer selection beyond the typical coors, bud, and Miller that most locals seem to drink. Pale ales, ambers etc. are offered! That is awesome. 12 taps of micro/close to local brews offered. Ok for food. I was at the bar and did not do dinner. I ordered The Boudin Balls as a snack and they were good, not to hot , yet with good balance of spice. What is pretty cool is the freight train that goes by at at least 70 mph right outside. Not a train guy, but still pretty cool. Give the place a shot, especially if you like real beer... read more

Been there twice - not sure I'll give it a third try. 1st time- had to interrupt a waiter and the bartender to ask if the kitchen was open. It wasn't because it closes at 8 on week nights. We sat at the bar and had a drink. Decided to take drink outside. A waitress passed up 4-5 times and after being out there 10-15 minutes she finally came over, leaned in and told us "Um, you know the kitchen is closed, right?" 2nd time - made sure to get there early enough to eat. Snagged a table right away luckily, and a waitress came over quickly to get drink orders. After that it went down hill. After appetizer, during meal , sat with no drink for 15 minutes, yep - we timed everything this time. Waitress came over and asked if we wanted a refill. After 10 more minutes of no drink, I stopped another server to get my refill. My meal was luke-warm to cold - fun way to eat something with a cheese sauce on it - all cold and crusty as opposed to warm and runny. Never received part of my meal, and waited 15 minutes for the check. After another 8 minutes of waiting for her to come back and make change - we gave up and rummaged for enough change to make a tip. So - ideas: Staff should have designated tasks - bartenders should tend bars and waitresses should wait tables. Everyone running around getting their own draft beers and sodas seems like a terrible idea - and experiencing it is worse. Get a greeter and have designated sections for servers so they can keep better tabs on their tables - and maybe even deliver food warm. If you don't want designated areas - a food runner/ bus person would help. Oh, and hire experienced staff. The food was decent - even cold. Probably would have been really good warm. read more

I have eaten here three times now and the food has been consistently good. The fish tacos are tasty and just the right amount. My husband loved the beer assortment. We also thought the atmosphere was fun and not overdone. read more

Usually my wife and I have good experiences at Railshake and even recommend it to friends, but Friday night is another story. I do not remember our waitress's name, but it was the worst service ever. We had to flag her down for each thing we needed. Waitress instinct should include bringing ketchup with fries and refilling drinks whenever you stop at the table. We even flagged down other waitresses to help get drinks refilled. The food was decent, but I thought I would try the Cajun Alfredo. My sister-in-law did the same. The waitress didn't ask us if we wanted chicken or shrimp (which apparently there is a choice). We found out later one of us had chicken and the other had shrimp. We were charged $12 for one and $10 for the other. After I asked the waitress about the $2 difference she said it's because one of us had chicken. On the menu it did not specify (that I remember) that there is an up charge for chicken. It would have been nice of our waitress to mention that or even to ask if we wanted chicken or shrimp. My wife had French fries that were cold and should have been sent back but since no one would wait on us, we weren't going to worry about it. Bottom line: good food, terrible service. read more

BEST grilled buffalo chicken sandwich I have ever had. The chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The buffalo sauce is delicious as well. The service was really good as well. We are new to Highland and have been here 3 times already because we just cant get enough! read more
