Initially, their…read morework appeared satisfactory; however, by Christmas of 2023, I observed a decline in the quality of their craftsmanship. It seemed that their workers were prioritizing the completion of their tasks to attend the company party. They informed me that my floor required an additional $5,500 for repairs. Despite this, the floor still exhibits signs of unevenness. The stairs, which were supposed to be high-end, were of substandard quality, and the company had to return to complete the job. However, the work was still under warranty, but it cost an additional $4,000 to fix the squeaking floor they created. The final caulking of the stairs was also unsatisfactory. The caulking of the trim was never completed. I had to hire an electrician to fix their mistakes, which cost several thousand dollars, as they are not certified electricians. Regarding the painting, I noticed several areas where the trim was overpainted and areas that were not adequately painted. I did not receive the high-end quality I expected. I had asked them not to ask me to provide a review, but I keep receiving notices, so I am providing one here.

Not only was it inconvenient having to wait so long for the initial appointment, but canceling at the last possible moment using an excuse when they've had our address and knew what neighborhood we were in all along was entirely unprofessional. We hired A-1 Stone to remove the concrete driveway and retaining wall, and then to rebuild the driveway with pavers and the retaining wall with concrete blocks. Additionally, proper drainage was installed behind the retaining wall. The work was performed by the company's owner, Paul Singh, along with two of his employees. Remarkably, A-1 Stone completed all the work in just three days, and the results are excellent. Everything looks great, and Paul and his team were a pleasure to work with. I would definitely consider contracting them again. I do have two (minor) recommendations for A-1 Stone to improve: Website Improvement: The company's website is somewhat lacking. It's difficult to see examples of their work or to assess their experience with specific types of projects. A portfolio showcasing past work would be very beneficial. Product Variety: The selection of colors and products they offered was rather limited. Other companies provided brochures featuring a range of stone colors and types, while A-1 Stone only offered a single option for our retaining wall: grey concrete blocks. Overall, it was a relief to work with A-1 Stone. They completed the job efficiently with great results, and there were no hassles or problems. Furthermore, both Paul and his employees spoke English, which made communication much easier, especially since many contractors employ workers who only speak Spanish or Portuguese.

Throughout the process he and his crew were very professional and respectful. We felt like they treated our project as if it was for their own property. One of our gates had to be removed for access and they were able to rebuild it as good as new. Some of the yard was a bit torn up as a result of the machinery but Paul offered to add top soil and even spread the grass seed and peat moss I had on hand! We had neighbors walk by and compliment on how great it looked while they were still completing it. I would absolutely recommend Paul and wouldn't hesitate to use him again for future projects.

The project was poorly managed and lacked clear communication. From our perspective, the owner was too busy to thoughtfully manage our project which caused confusion and delays. Additionally, we were surprised by the final invoice. The labor estimate nearly doubled compared to the original estimate without any communication that actual hours were running over the planned hours. At the end of the day, we are satisfied with the result. However, we feel like we overpaid due to project mismanagement and would not recommend this experience to others.

After accepting the quote, which was very reasonable and slightly under the competition, I was astonished with how fast they were able to do the actual work, especially in the current high demand market for landscaping in Seattle! The quality of the work was very high (see attached picture of the transformation of old, wobbly pavers with overgrown weeds everywhere to brand new interlocking pavers). I also had them deweed/trim the side & front yards and it was a true 180 on how my home looked. They were even able to patch a pothole in my driveway! Would definitely hire again!

The patio looks fine; the work on the paths, less so. By far the biggest disappointment concerns Kevals not standing behind their work. They rushed through the last phases of the job and, among other missteps, failed to adequately sand between the paver joints. The owner assured me on multiple occasions and with seeming sincerity he would remedy the problems. He hasn't. I have been patient and waited months before writing this review. I cannot recommend Kevals.

Ron came out to the worksite and took a lot of time listening, answering my questions and researching when he didn't know the answer. He was kind when my 'imagination' for a rolling manual 'barn door' gate offering ideas and 'thumbs down' when not practical. Due to COVID, my job was delayed due to the many previously waiting customers' jobs being held off due to restrictions. Thankfully for me, my job was finished before the rainy winter season! I hired…read morethem even though they were the most expensive bid because of some of their reviews, their pole in post technique, and because I believed Ron Clayton and his representation that they could do the repair properly. The pictures show the repairs needed and the shockingly bad repairs. I am particularly concerned about the notching of the new support posts, two of which had a depth of about 25% while a third was reduced by what looks like about 50%. I cannot see how the strength of the posts are not severely undermined. The posts are at different heights, the panels appear crooked, and I do not think that the pole in post method promised was used. The fence looks ugly.
