Do NOT go to see MARIA at Rain Salon. I have thick long hair and she did not tell me she did not have experience to do my hair. The last two times I went she made it WAY DARK compared to the rest of my hair. It looked way too dark compared to the rest of it, I went back again hoping she could fix it. She again dyed it way too dark. Then this happened. I know she was just making a mess of it, yet I stupidly made another appointment. Here is the good part. Right before my next appointment she texts me she has to go out of town and cannot do my hair. I text her back. no reply EVER. So she ghosted me. So professional. NEVER heard from this cowardly lady since. So she can pound sand. The great news? I went online to Next Door and got a FANTASTIC RECOMMENDATION for a new hair dresser at a different salon, and she had to do a complete color correction to make my hair right again. So grateful after the mess Maria made of it. This lady is a disaster and you will have to pay much money to get it fixed after she screws it up. I avoid Rain "Salon" entirely. I love it here at rain salon! This place is clean and cute and each stylists have their own little private room which I like! This is not my first visit here I've been going for a few years at least but I only go to see Teresa Hitchens who specializes in sew ins, beaded weft, extensions, tape hair extensions, color/ cut, crochet and natural hair styles! Oh and she offers make up services!! She's very talented and is very professional. She makes her clients comfortable and she takes her time until you are happy with your results. I've had extensions multiple times and color and she did braids for me today and I left so happy every time! It's always a struggle to find a hairstylist in Vegas that you love and she is my go to hairstylist and I'm lucky to have found her! Every women should leave feeling amazing after getting their hair done! So if you're ever looking for someone talented and not over priced check out Teresa!!! read more

I am redoing this review. They keep the original five stars tho. It's something I enjoy about a clean shop & professional people. It's just addicting to me and I crave it more & more. No kidding this shop everything is super clean even the restrooms. No joking it's unbelievable that their is no hair on the floor. No hair on your seat once you sit down. It's a very productive but professional environment that I just love. The shop owner is kind and gives me just what I like. It's safe to say she has earned me as a client. It's been years since I have been able to allow a hairdresser to just free fall and do with my hair however she likes. But I trust the employees at this location one hundred percent. My daughter had her hair colored by Katie Gregory and it was horrible! My daughter sent her a photo of the hair color she wanted ahead of time and Katie said she could do it, she just needed to bleach her hair to achieve that color. Then when she botched the color job, she turns around and blames my daughter saying her expectations were unrealistic! What? You said you could do it! You agreed to do it! If her expectations were unrealistic, why did you agree to do itHorrible service, your the expert if your customer is unrealistic than you should have told her it wasn't possible to do it, instead of doing it poorly and then blaming them for wanting the color you agreed to provide! ! Only reason I even gave one star is because she at least refunded her, minus a 2% fee for processing it! Ridiculous! read more

I just moved from Texas and was in a desperate search of a new salon to call home. I went on Yelp as well as FX You's Facebook page and saw amazing reviews about Tonia and saw pictures of her work on Hair by Tonia Cook Facebook page. I made an appointment & had my appointment with her and she was the sweetest, most understanding hair stylist...and she actually listened!!! I recently moved to Vegas from Texas and was so excited when I met Jennifer. I did ask her if she was good at color (of course I expected her answer) she replied "I'm a color expert". I decided to take a chance, which was hard considering I had the same hair specialist for 6 years. She is a delightful person and she was very knowledgeable in color. I loved my hair when it was complete and most importantly, I didnt have to find someone else to fix it. She put it color and did partial highlights that came out amazing and trimmed my hair. My hair is long and think so it was pricey but I would rather pay that and be happy with my service than pay and pay again to have it fixed by someone else.. you get what you pay for.. thanks Jennifer! read more

Today Momma and I had a mani-pedi with Julie Rau, who rents a private studio at Rain, and it was great! We had the basic mani-pedi special for $45, which included the standard services, plus she did some special salts and scented oils in our pedi water that weren't technically included in the price. She took great care of our hands and feet, and my nails look really good. She's also done deluxe pedicures for my Grandma, and took wonderful care of her feet, which is really important since she's diabetic and often can't feel if the water's too hot or her skin or cuticles get cut. She also gave us suggestions on nail colors, which products to use to combat our wicked calluses, and how to maintain our nails and cuticles, but was never pushy or condescending like I've had with some manicurists in the past. She was very friendly and we chatted on and off about our families, work, etc. She was very hygenic: she used fresh tools for each of us, cleaned the basins in between our turns, and used all new files for each of us, which she saved in labeled envelopes for next time we come in. In summary, a lovely experience for a reasonable price. I'll be back! About Rain itself, it consists of all private studios rented out to independent nail techs, hair stylists, and aestheticians. I've only been to Julie, but based on the clean, relaxed feel of the salon, I'd be willing to go there for other services. read more

I LOVE the setup of this salon. You get your own room and privacy and each artist gets to work on you with out having to share space with others and hearing gossip. You can actually relax here and enjoy your privacy and talk about your life whatever while being taken care of. I had been a client of Kimba for nearly 15 years and she is one of the best in Aliante area. I then went to David W. whom now has his own space. It is lovely and decorated very nicely and he just makes you feel so at ease and comfortable in his place. I am a life long client of Rain. I would like to try the other technicians in the studio for Mani-pedi or facials. I just love the location and privacy you get. I found GrandeLash from Taryn, and it has only been a week and my lashes have grown and filled in! it's half the price of Latisse so I recommend it. lLatisse was a hassle to get from my derm, requiring me filling out so much paperwork and paying the co pay. Not worth it. Grandelash MD is the way to go! Please check out Kimba and David if you are in the Aliante area, they are the two best in the area! They make you feel at home there and this studio is the only place I go to. I plan to spoil myself with other treatments so I'm going to have to look into the other services offered there. read more

DO NOT get your hair done by LINDSEY LOVE!!! I went to her for a blonde, partial highlight and base break. Not only were my highlights patchy, but my hair was green!! And my roots were gold!! She was obviously unfamiliar with with the products and process. I should have walked out half way through when I realized what was happening, but she reassured me repeatedly that I had nothing to worry about. I left the salon in tears!!!! I paid because I felt pressured to. After I left I contacted her and told her I was more than unhappy. I couldn't believe how bad it was. I asked for a refund and she said she would only refund me half (for the products used), but informed me she was keeping the rest ($60) "for her time". I will NEVER go to this salon again!! I go here to see Jodi for waxing. I've been seeing Jodi for a good 3-4 years now, and she is amazing. You can tell that Jodi loves what she does and really cares about the well being of her clients! After waxing your eyebrows, she puts some sort of soothing lotion on them to help calm the redness. After waxing in that downtown region, she puts a soothing solution and baby powder. I have SUPER sensitive skin so this really helps!!! Her wax is never too hot, and she never rushes her work even though I know she's busy. She makes sure you're comfortable and is so great at her job. I strongly recommend going to Jodi for any of your waxing needs!!! I believe she also does lash extensions! She is great at replying quickly to set up appointments, and she's been a god send from my high school days to now! I'll always go to Jodi! read more

Bought an Amazon Local deal - Sort of like Groupon for this place. I wanted to treat my wife to the "Nails by Carmen at Rain Salon Studios" special - "Shellac Manicure and Pedicure" and kept calling the number they had on file for this place: 6575 North Decatur Boulevard Suite 180 North Las Vegas, NV 89131 702-204-5787 Called to make an appointment and left message after message with Carmen and not once did she call back. Even tried to make an appointment online and nobody even called back or emailed us. I have been coming to Jade for 6 years to get my hair cut and colored. SHE is amazing. I love the layering she does. I have had 4 people I have recommend to her become regulars. The salon as a whole is neat, clean, and modern. All of the stylists and techs have their own suites. This allows for a more relaxed and private interaction. I have not had any other services by any person other than Jade. She has always been pleasant, professional, and good at what she does. She is honest with her opinions and recommendations ( even when it is not what you want to hear). She will always do what you ask. I have silently thanked her many-o-time when I thought I wanted blunt bangs and she repeatedly has to explain why it may not be the best cut for my face shape. Have you ever been on a looooooong trip and when you get home everything feels just right, just the way it is supposed to be? That's the way I felt when Carmen (Dominguez) cut my hair! I have curly hair, and everyone "says" they can cut curly hair, but very few people can REALLY do it right. The very first time Carmen cut my hair she got it PERFECT! Melissa Saul is a MUST if you ever make an appointment here! She is an awesome hairdresser and can create any style you want and teach you how to keep it up. Her product recommendations have always been spot-on for me. I have difficult hair and have been dealing with postpartum alopecia, but she doesn't act weird about it and is very down to earth. She can make absolutely anyone feel comfortable. No matter what hair color, texture, style or type, she can make the magic happen. I have very sensitive skin and she takes care of my facial waxing as well. She is also very honest, as we all know sometimes we want our hair to do things that it just can't do! She enables you to "work with what you got" and not have unrealistic expectations. Her room is decorated super cute and is mostly private. I visit Melissa every 4-6 weeks for keeping up my pixie cut. Her prices are reasonable, she has a banging personality and will treat you with the utmost best in customer service. My mom, sister, aunt and girlfriends all go to her for their styling needs. Absolutely the worst experience ever. I personally have been to cosmotolgy school myself therefore I know the service I received from a stylist named Kimba is very unacceptable. She claims she has been doing hair for something like 17 years but maybe she just forgot the basics on coloring and needs to go back to school. I dyed my hair dark brown for the fall and wanted someone to foil beautiful blonde highlights in my hair considering I cannot do this myself. When finished I had horrbile bleed marks at my roots. I looked like a spotted leopard. There is no way I can wear my hair except for down. Putting it in a clip is not an option. Please do yourself a favor and find someone else who knows a thing or two about color. read more

I wouldn't recommend Jennifer Webb. I went in to get my hair colored and nothing went as planned. After she bleached my hair she said that she didn't have time to finish my hair. My hair was badly bleached and a weird yellow and I had to walk around with yellow hair for two days. When it came time for her to finish (Two days later) she didn't have enough color to do the job, and wanted me to come in another day because she said she had another appointment with somebody else, and didn't have time to go out and buy more color and finish my hair. She wanted me to come back another day. Unfortunately, I have a job and I can't spend a few hours every day at the hairdresser. I then asked her, out of desperation, if I went and bought the color and came back if she could finish it. She said ok. I came back at a scheduled time later that day so she could finish my hair. After she put in all the color, she told me that she didn't have time to wait for the color to set, and wanted me to go home (with foil and color in my hair) and wash it myself and also set up an appointment to fix any problems. I was shocked, this is really unusual and a very unprofessional thing for a hairdresser to do. On the day that we scheduled for the next appointment she texted me and told me that she was sick and couldn't come in to finish the job. She also said that she didn't know if she would feel better any time soon, and couldn't set up a different appointment. After I washed the color out of my hair, it looked like a complete mess. There was no uniformity and nothing at all like I requested. At this point I am completely boiling, although I had always been kind and reasonable with her, even with all the shenanigans that I had to go through. I paid her all together $290 to color my hair. I also bought my own colors on top of that which should have been reimbursed, which she never did. I ended up having to go to a different stylist to fix all the problems. The new hairdresser was shocked at the whole story and agreed that my hair was a mess and that the previous hairdresser didn't know what she was doing. Fortunately, the new hair dresser did a great job and was able to fix all of Jennifer's mistakes. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to Jennifer. They could easily get a better job from Walmart. Jennifer Webb claimed that she's been a stylist for 13 years which is very hard to believe because she can't even handle simple things like time management or even keeping enough color in stock to do a hair coloring. On top of that if you don't have enough color to do a job then why would you even start the job to begin with?!?! At least my new hair stylist was able to fix my hair where at least I can walk around without having to wear hat all the time. Save your money and time, and don't even bother going to this stylist which is located at Omega/Rain salon. She doesn't give a crap about her customers; all she wants is quick cash. read more

I recently moved here from out-of-state and needed someone to cut and color my hair. I stopped in and met with Cecilia. We discussed changing my hair color, as it was very dark brown, and I wasn't happy with it. We decided to go with highlights all over to help lighten the total effect. Cecilia did a fantastic job, probably the best highlights I've ever had. She looked through various photos until she found one that she thought I would like and met my requirements. The haircut is fantastic. I've waited for over a week before posting this, just to be sure that I could keep the hairdo up. It's fantastic, just wash and dry. What a timesaver. I would definitely recommend Cecilia. She's extremely professional, polite, and above all else, listens to what her client wants. read more

My daughter and I also got the groupon and scheduled an appointment with Carmen after reading other reviews on line, and we were both so happy with her, she spent the time to talk with us and she gave us both the cut we had asked her for, we will be back and also will be letting all of our friends know what a great stylist she is, so happy to have found a great salon in the northwest! Did an okay job on my hair, but too costly to just be "okay." Did not do everything I asked (and didn't know how to do some of the main things i came in for) and the atmosphere was uncomfortable and unprofessional. Felt like I was being scolded for not knowing to make an appointment (especially when a lot of the reviews were from people who had been walk-ins). Went there last sunday to get my new hairdo. Every single person in my surrounding knew that I wanted a lighter hair color. I went to the hairdresser Cena Miranda. It is the WORSE hairdo i ever had in my life. I had a brown/copper red haircolor. I showed Cena a picture of a girl with mid/light brown hair color and blonde highlights which I like to be done with my hair. I told her I wanted to get rid of the red in my hair and wanted this lighter haircolor. She recommended to put the new ombre highlights in as well which is "super in" now. She highlighted my hair and did an all over color, she washed my hair. After taking the towel off my head I told her right away that this color is kind of dark. But she asured me that it will lighten up. She blow dryed my hair and flat iron it before she cut it. And again I told her my concerns that the color of my hair is too dark but she just replied that it will lighten up after a few washing and that in the light in the salon she could already tell that it is lighter - yeah right. After cutting my hair she curled it so it would have some movements. Now i know why she did it. I googled "ombre highlights" and the higlights I got doesn't look like it at all. She curled my hair so I won't realize that my highlights look like I didn't go to the hairdresser for 6 months. After she was done with curling I told her I like the curls but I was still concerned about the dark hair. And again she assured me it will lighten up and I should give it a couple days. I went home and as soon as I walked into the house my husband said " oh, that's kind of dark". Well, instead of having mid/light brown haircolor my hair is very, very dark brown almost black with blonde highlights starting in the mittle of my head. I contacted Cena the same evening telling her that I was very unhappy about it and that this won't wash out to a mid/light brown I wanted in the first place. I asked her what she can do to lighten up my hair and how much it will cost to get it fixed. I was sure she would say she'll fix it for free because it was her putting this dark color in my hair. Cena said that she usually fixes hair for free but because I seemed happt when I left - what I was clearly not by telling her my concerns - she would have to charge me $100. An additional $100 for a ruined hairdo?! And I already paid her $170. So for my ruined hair to get to what I wanted on the first place I would have to pay $270 !!! I was very upset and tried to come to an agreement and proposed that she could give me $70 back so I can get it fixed somewhere else. Cena told me that she can't do that. I told her that we need to come to an agreement. If she won't work with me I would neet to cancel the whole credit card transactoion.I didn't want to take the entire $170 away from her, I just wanted to get $70 back to get my hair fixed. After trying and trying to come to an agreement Cena said she would leave $50 at the receptions. After thinking about it, I agreed and told Cena to let me know when she would refund me the money. Days passed by me trying to get a hold of Cena. I even called the Rain Salon reception to see if she left an envelope for me. But nothing! Cena doesn't have the decency to get back to me or to communicate. Is this service a client should be treated??? I don't think so! I will make sure that Cena's behavor will have consequences for her.
