Come early to get their pastries and buns for they sell out fast. Sometimes I get here by 4 PM and there are lots of cream buns left which are very popular. The roast pork buns go fast too. This particular Rainbow Cakes & Donuts are know for their cakes. See many people on the line ordering cakes and picking up cakes. Look forward to purchasing one of their cakes in the near future. I truly enjoy their buns and pastries for they are plentiful and so much to select from.

I didn't visit this establishment but I was surprised with a cake from here for my birthday! Ordering process was super simple (according to my mother) and she went the day before to look at their options and place an order for next day pickup. Not sure the exact name of the cake, but it was half chocolate mousse, half chocolate cake. It was DELICIOUSSS. Not too sweet and the cake isn't the typical rich, dense chocolate cake. It is a lighter, spongier cake that balances out the richness of the chocolate mousse and ganache on top. Super happy with this cake! :)

This Rainbow bakery location distinguishes itself from others around the area by offering more modern cake designs and mochi donuts. There are some standard Chinese bakery breads here, but the selection is limited as the focus is more on the sweets here (cake, donuts, swiss rolls, cream puffs, etc.). Food: The mochi donuts have a lightly fried exterior and chewy middle and are pretty good! I love that the flavors aren't overly sweet. So far, I've tried the fruity pebbles, churro, mango, biscotti/coffee, strawberry, and matcha flavors. They were all fresh and tasty. I am amazed at how well they replicated the strawberry Pocky flavor. It tastes exactly like the strawberry Pocky stick! Certain mochi donut flavors sell out quick and I kind of wish there was a way to reserve them in advance. There could be two people taking orders at once and the last donut of a certain flavor could be snatched up by the person behind you because they called it before you did or if their person worked quicker than the one taking your order. It was also unclear if you should order the donuts at the cash register or if you should just call out to a person behind the display counter (I've seen both happen). They have HK milk tea here and it's well made. Their cake slices are pretty good too. Definitely try a few! Ambiance: The bakery is brightly lit and clean. There is a small seating area at the back of the store if you wish to eat in. Location: So glad they opened a location at this spot. It is very convenient to get to as it is steps away from the Grand Ave. subway station and Q58/59 bus stops). Overall: Great bakery to go to if you are looking for some slightly sweet desserts or want to pick up a cake for your next gathering! :)

Very cute bakery with lots of indoor seating. Their breads/pastries are so fresh and just the right amount of sweetness. Unlike most Asian bakeries in the area, they take credit cards. Things to try: black sesame bread, coconut bread, pork bun, matcha cronut. Can't wait to try their cakes next!

Love that another Rainbow bakery franchise opened up in Elmhurst. This location is much bigger compared to the other ones I've been to in Queens, more spacious and there is seating in the back. They have a wide selection of pastries, cakes and buns. I usually go to the one across Queens Blvd, but will most likely be going to this location since it is more convenient.

Many mochi donut options that all look fire!

The tea was solid and my ice request was honored and held intact as my cup was profusely sweating condensation. It contains fresh fruit pieces yellow peach. It was a joyful delight. The males sales associate gave me a nefarious profile look while issuing my change in cash. Bro, if you stay at your post watching the cash wrap doing your job rather than checking social media on your cell phone then I would not have to scream for assistance! Four stars, for ineffective customer service. I did obtained my sales request, but no drink label on my affixed to my cup. This makes customizing your drink so much more fun! Also, please note that this is NOT a hangout-type spot. They literally have one table in here so it's best to just grab your drink and go.

We walked into a cozy space with a comfortable feel that makes it easy to settle in for a bit, and the atmosphere strikes a nice balance between modern and relaxed. The drinks themselves are the main draw and largely deliver. We ordered the Coconut Mango Boom, the standout on the menu, and it came loaded with a generous chunk of actual mango that made the whole thing feel more substantial than your average fruit tea. The Triple Matcha is another strong option for anyone looking for a matcha drink. Toppings were consistently chewy and the flavor balance across most of the lineup leans on the lighter, less sweet side, which works well for us. Where things get complicated is the wait. This location runs long on order times fairly regularly, and during busier stretches or when delivery orders are stacking up, a single drink can take thirty to forty minutes. The staff are generally efficient and straightforward, which suits the format, but the kitchen and barista workflow seems to struggle with volume in a way that other HeyTea locations do not. If you are already a HeyTea regular, the Long Island City location is a convenient option for the area, and the menu quality holds up to what the brand does elsewhere. Just plan accordingly on timing and you will leave happy. We would come back for the Coconut Mango Boom, but we would order ahead and build in a buffer before we need to be anywhere else.

Ordering is digital. You place your order and pay at a self serve kiosk. The serving team behind the counter was working diligently to prepare all the drinks. I ordered the Coconut Mango Boom with sago. It was creamy, refreshing, and packed with sweet mango flavor. The tiny sago pearls add a nice chewy texture to the drink. The menu also offers a wide variety of drinks, including matcha, fruit teas such as grapefruit, guava, and even kale, as well as traditional Chinese teas like jasmine and longjing (aka dragon well). I would like to come back by and try some of those if I'm in the area.
