Expensive plumerias. $60 for this one

I live close by and like to pop in to see what they have. It's a large nursery with a lot of variety. I like the signs that describe the plants and growing conditions. But the prices are really high and the quality of plants have gone downhill. I bought lantanas this spring and only half are doing okay and they are all in the same area. I bought a pineapple sage that dies even though it only got morning sun. And several times I bought tomatoes and peppers, bumped them into larger pots and put them in morning sun and afternoon shade to develop a better root system. Half of them died. Go to Milberger's for better plants.

I love the selection and variety of herbs and plants here! I always find great plants, pots, as well as herbs and veggies for the best prices in the city! Right now they have an amazing assortment of mints of all kinds of flavors. And they are making it a point to add more exotic herbs! I follow them on social media also to stay up to date with what they are getting in. The staff is great about answering questions but also make sure to not get in your way. They are always friendly.

I found out about this garden and I had to come. They do have two locations, and I went to this location because it was closer to where I live. They do have wagons up at the front, which is pretty awesome for you to take with you walking towards the back while you shop through the garden. They have a great variety of annuals, perennials, indoor plants, outdoor plants, different trees, fruit trees, succulents, and also cacti. I do love the great variety of different soils, potting soils, potting mix, in ground soils, great quality organic like Black Gold that they have, so I was very happy with that. You check out on your way out towards the front; you just raise up and show all the different prices that are written on the flower pots and they'll tally up your cart and you check out and leave. I think that's pretty awesome for them to have prices listed written on the bottom of flower pots or on the side of it, that way you don't have to be searching or trying to figure out what the price of a particular plant is that you want. They did have a great amount of employees walking around throughout the garden, willing and ready to help you.

I won the 75 lb pumpkin!!! What a great selection.

There are so many plants to select from I spend hours just walking around. The staff is helpful and will let you know where to go if you're looking for a particular plant. Very friendly staff and knowledgeable. Great priced plants. I will be returning. Thank you for reading. Have a blessed day.

Two mini tropical dream mimosas for 65$ each. High quality && healthy.

The service here is super friendly and knowledgeable. The selection is very entertaining and fresh. The plants/trees are authentic and healthy. The mimosa trees are beautiful and are taken care of. We looked everywhere in San Antonio for these trees and finally found them in stock here. I would definitely recommend this garden center for your plant/tree/gardening experience. The facility is very spacious and clean with friendly staff who answers all questions you may have.

I really enjoy coming to rainbow gardens to see all the new plants that they have. Every time I show up there is something new. During winter time, there isn't such a big selection but as soon as the weather changes, they will be filled with plants.

A short drive later, I was trying to find what I needed, and came up short, but only in quantity. An employee came by and offered help, and I told them what I needed. They were right to a different bin, and counted out the exact quantity that I needed. They then gave me the price for that item and one other similar item. When I mentioned that the app and website didn't help, they told me that some of the items wouldn't come UP on the website or in the app, but that I could call anytime to have someone check the stock for me. I wrote the info on the handy plastic bag and went to check out. The employee at the checkout counter was polite, friendly, and professional. They asked for my phone number to access my rewards account. When I walked out, I had exactly what I needed, and for a very reasonable price. This is now my go-to store for all but major hardware needs. I highly recommend Ace Hardware, and especially this location. It kind of felt like I was dealing with family.

Saw that there was a landscaping company nearby & read positive reviews. We're working on a project…read moreso we decided to check it out. It was a bit hard to find off Redland Road because there's another landscaping business next to this that has a nice, paved driveway & sign. Signage isn't clear for Wholesale Landscaping and on my map app it just shows it located before Los Barrios restaurant. I had to back out of the first driveway after seeing the large piles of mulch, stone & rock in the property before so I figured out that's the location. Parked in front of a building that shows signs of where the office is located. We walked up to the office but it's more of interaction with the employees thru a galvanized steel security transaction window. You don't enter inside as we did with the business up north. The female clerk opened the window, we told her what we were interested in, she showed us a price list on laminated paper & told us one of her employees was going to show us the stones. We walked over & a Hispanic employee showed us a couple of stone piles but he couldn't articulate well and we found we were breaking down our explanation more simply. He couldn't even explain the width of the stone. We only saw one type of stone but not the grey stone the female employee mentioned? We had places to go so we left. I was disappointed. The customer service up north has employees greeting you, able to articulate pricing, names of the stones & will walk you thru to locate the stones & names & the office is a walk-in type of establishment. Much more customer service oriented. If you want more service-oriented interaction, this may not be the place for you based on my personal experience. Seems like the piles of mulch & stones are very neatly organized, though. I didn't walk over to the mulch side.

If you are a lover of gardening, floriculture, novice or self styled professional, avail yourself…read moreof the flora offered by Maria Rocha. Known as 'Flowers on wheels", and lately, as "Maria Rocha Plants", this lady and her crew offer remarkable value and variety of plants every Saturday morning in a parking lot at the corner of Vance Jackson and Wurzbach Road. She loads her trucks with plants from local growers, and at 7:00 until 1:00, the selling frenzy is joined. BUT, don't tarry, for nearing the 1:00 hour, the best of the best are sold out!. What is offered? Ferns, flowering plants for indoor and outdoor, herbs, succulents, annuals, perennials, even orchids...the selection may vary from Saturday to Saturday, but the health and quality of the plants are second to none. The prices? Easily beating those at local nurseries and big box stores. (Actually, we did find Boston Fern at a local grocer for one dollar less, but of lesser quality, in our honest opinions). And if the plants offered are not enough of an inducement, just ask Maria's advice for growing and maintenance of plants. Don't be misled by her down home, and sometimes brassy personality. Her knowledge of plants is almost encyclopedic! We have become regulars, as Marjan is addicted to the practice of gardening. Make a trip to the corner of Vance Jackson and Wurzbach. Visit Maria Rocha. See what she has to offer to gardeners. We think you will be pleased with the experience!! Marjan rates Maria Rocha Plants...5 origami boots!!! (Oh, one more thing: Maria's is a "cash only" business, no checks or credit cards!)

I had no idea Maria had a Yelp page!…read more If you are looking for beautiful and affordable indoor and outdoor plants for your home, you have to visit Maria. She is only at this location on Saturday mornings, and all her plants fly by in just HOURS. I believe she sets up at 7am, and I've seen people waiting for her at that time. Usually by noon, most of her plants have already sold and you only get the not-so-pretty plants. All the plants I've purchased from her have been doing amazing and are pest free. Last time I visited she was only accepting cash, so I would recommend taking some bills in case she is still doing that. Highly recommending visiting her if you are looking for a new plant baby!
