My family and I were in town from Chicago for a wedding, and wanted to do something memorable that we can always cherish before we left. I found A Place For Dreamers on Yelp, and immediately knew this was a rare opportunity for my us to experience an activity together as first-timers. I gave a call, was greeted on the phone very nicely, and all my questions were answered. I felt comfortable and ready to book, so I made the reservation for me, my wife, my 9 year old, and 8 year old. After a beautiful drive, we arrived where we could immediately see the beautiful horses. We were greeted by a very friendly gentleman who made sure we were comfortable from the beginning all the way to the end of the experience. He gave us a very clear tutorial, and we were riding before we knew it. The ride itself was pleasant on the trails, and not once did we ever feel uncomfortable or worried about directing our horses. We drove away very happily, and have a lot of memories to cherish. We do not live in Texas, otherwise we'd be coming back very soon. Next time we visit the area, we certainly will stop by again. Roland, our trail guide, was outstanding. He has a loving command of the horses as an experienced horse trainer, who is majoring in animal science. His relationship with the horses made us feel secure. He floated back and forth, chatting with each rider and ensuring that everyone was well. I came to a silent Bookclub event here last week called Pages with Ponies and just had to come check it out. I loved that they were able to roam around us and we could pet them. I did get some reading done and it's very peaceful here. After we finished reading we were able to make a bowl of food to feed the horses and ponies. This was a unique experience. Some things to know when traveling to get here make sure you turn on 10655 Katy Hockley Rd. There's a black mailbox that has an arrow to turn there. Do it because I missed it the first time and it was pain to u-turn on this tiny road. It's a bumpy road and parking was limited for our party but we made it work. I enjoyed my time here.

This is an absolutely beautiful and very special place to visit located in Katy, Texas. We had a…read morewonderful visit with two small kiddos (ages 5 & 8) and they loved every minute of their experience here. Our small group started with miniature pony brushing and then got to dress up their animals in various accessories. From there they got on smaller horses with a guide leading them and learned basic skills, like stopping (whoa) and had a lot of fun riding around the enclosed area circle. They even played a few games like red light green light. After that they learned to walk with the miniature ponies and even got to take them over a jump and through an obstacle course. We then finished the day with a little carriage ride with the owner, Paige. The highlight of their visit (they said later) was learning to clean out a horse stall. Who knew they loved cleaning so much! All of the guides were wonderful. The main gal that did the instructing was just so lovely and sweet to the kids explaining everything with patience. Definitely a must visit for anyone looking for this kind of experience in the area.

I received a mini walkthrough on how to guide the horse to go forward, stop, and turn. Some people collect spoons -- I go for rides :) Most of the places I found IN Houston either were English barns with just an arena. This is about 60 miles outside of Houston, but worth the drive, if you want a good ride. They are really nice people, and you go ride on their ranch. There were several ponds, cattle, and lots of great views. It's a husband and wife operation. It's a little bit of a drive from Houston, but I think it's probably the best trail ride around. They are also less expensive than the Houston places. Very accommodating to your schedule. Highly recommend, and would go again
