Went there on Friday to turn in an application, there was nothing in office or online saying that they weren't hiring so I called back during my only free time during lunch and was addressed very rudely, I was told "when you came into my clinic you dropped off a resume I'm not sure why you even did that cause we're not hiring anybody" I replied back, I was trying my luck to see if by chance you were, nothing in office stated you weren't hiring. how would anybody else looking know that unless they called? read more

Do not take your baby to this doctor! I am not opposed to vaccinations but I had questions regarding them. Instead of answering my questions he immediately became defensive and brought up politics. He had an argument with me. As a mother I was concerned of my child's health regarding the vaccines and just wanted reassurance we were doing the right thing. Instead i walked out shaking and crying from frustration. He stated that sometimes you meet people and you just don't like them so then I should find a new doctor. He was telling me straight to my face that he did not like me. Well now I will be finding a new doctor. I cannot believe the way he spoke to me. I informed him that he made me uncomfortable and upset and he did not apologize. He just then informed me that he felt I was questioning his practice and what he's been doing. He made me feel like I was in the wrong for asking questions. Sad part is that this wasn't the first time he was rude. Previous appointments he's cut me off and was also rude. Dr Firme- He is WONDERFUL at what he does! By far, the best doctor I (we) have encountered in 45 years. We switched insurance and lost the capability to have his oversight and reassurance with our three kids several years ago... and since- I've spent many hours comparing others with phd's to him. I've spent several years digging for the reason I feel they pale in comparison to him!!! He brings a great level of empathy and clairsentience with him- unlike many with PHD's. Not only is he practicing medicine, but he is gauging and reading people- assuring families- healing not only the body, but the minds. I will forever look back on his read of our family when my son would be future diagnosed with ITP, yet the school thought we were abusing him. I am so thankful he went above and beyond to help us get to a point of understanding what was happening to our sweet boy- because he took the time to get to know his patients and their families. Conditions are just as important to diagnosis (I feel) as test results and only HE would take both pieces into account and help push for the root cause answer as part of of him "practicing medicine"- this guy is an absolute Goldilocks. A healer- that has excellent bedside manner... and the gift of assuring the patient/patient's parent - that will sense when the "extra mile" route needs to be taken. This rating and doctor switch has been long over due. I had been taking my daughter to this provider since she was born and dr. Randel would always make insensitive comments and we were not fond of him since the beginning. My final straw was an incident that had occurred 2 years ago. My daughter kept coming down with a cold and she had this lingering cough that just wouldn't go away. As always, he would say "she has an ear infection, I'll prescribe antibiotics". After 2 months with a lingering cough I had demanded he order a chest X-ray just so that we can ensure she didn't have an pneumonia and because I recommended, he felt "disrespected" since I didn't "trust" what he was doing. First off, this is MY kid. He ended up ordering her the X-ray after pulling teeth with him but I decided still decided take her to an amazing urgent care and that doctor said she doesn't even have an ear infection! Dr. Randel had called to let me know that her results showed no sign of an pneumonia but when I asked for a copy of her X-rays he yelled at me and said "you should find another Doctor since you don't trust me". I honestly couldn't believe how argumentative he became with me over the request of MY daughters results. My daughter who was 3 at the time told me she did not like him! A three year old! After years of having him as my daughters doctor I finally made the switch! I love her new doctor, he is amazing and my daughter is very comfortable with him. The only reason I didn't make the switch sooner was because anytime she got sick, I stopped making appointments with this office and took her to her urgent care where she was treated amazingly!!! I had a horrible experience with Dr. Firme after my daughter was born. I was a new mom and had questions and concerns about shots. Rather than try to answer my questions and be understanding, he was extremely rude and said he wouldn't see my daughter anymore unless we followed the aggressive recommended shot schedule. What does that say about a doctor that they can't even handle someone questioning the practices? No answers were given and my concerns were not addressed whatsoever. Instead, he kicked us out! Dr. Steve FIRME is an amazing pediatrician who deals with all his patients hands on. He's very thorough, committed and knowledgeable. I'm beyond blessed to have gotten him assigned to both my children. I've been to 2 other pediatrics offices and i haven't dealt with the actual pediatricians, just their nurse practitioners in which just see my children for about 20 min and send me on my way. This doctor treats me like im stupid every time I ask a question about my baby. He says things like "I think I know what I'm talking about". I'm afraid to ask him anything. He's rude too and acts sarcastic with me. Every parent has the right to ask questions about their kids without being made fun of. I also know someone who told me Dr FIRME misdiagnosed a young girl and her leg ended up healing wrong and she became permanently disabled. This guy is a horrible doctor. Stay away! read more

new insurance and I was giving this Dr. for my son, I had the best experience at my first visit, receptionist was very nice and pleasant the nurse that gave my son the shots was so nice my son did not even cry and his 2yrs old. I have been taking my boys (ages 8&5) since they were Born to dr. Firme. Dr.firme has always been a great doctor since day 1 for us! He listens to what I have to say, my questions and concerns get answerd throughly and I know my boys get the best care from him. Dr. Firme has been rude and condescending since the first time he saw my son as a newborn while I was in the hospital- he only cares about making money. Regardless I reluctantly decided to give him another chance. He is also a rough savage! When my son was only 1 week old, without my permission - ripped off a little piece of skin from his left nipple that left my baby bleeding and writhing in pain!! Also, you can clearly see he has no respect for women. I brought my baby back for his 1 year appt ( hoping maybe this time would be different) and within the first 5 mins of meeting him again he laughed at me and said "we are not a very good match"!! All because I refused to let him rip my sons foreskin apart right then and there - he said if it bleeds just put neosporin! Oh wow- it's a baby and this is unnecessary roughness. He would not make eye contact me (mom) when I would speak with him, he rather stare at my husband and chuckle under his breath at any concern I had about my baby, cutting me off while being very condescending. His attitude was " I don't want to hear what you say so I'm just gonna talk over you, ignore you and move on". When I tried to seek advise on the scarring that occurred to my babies penis, that he circumcised, he did not even let me finish speaking- cut me off in a very defensive and nasty manner and proceeded to talk about his "reputation". He was very disrespectful and rude and I could see my son was not his concern, he only wanted to shut me up and make his money. If Dr. Steve Firme doesn't like dealing with women/moms concerns- maybe this is not the field for you- specially if your reputation is your main concern- and not of the child. He proceeded with telling me that if I'm not going to have my son do his shots there, then to leave and not come back - all this because I had concerns and questions about the side effects of certain shots. So basically - if he ain't making money off my baby- don't come back. Would never recommend this doctor to any mom that would have concerns and questions that needed answers. Very disappointed by this pediatrician. My son had seen him since birth. He was thorough and nice. One day I questioned why I was being charged for a copay since I have two insurances and none of my doctors charge ME anything bcuz one insurance with no copay covers the copay of the other. Uhhh he didn't like that so much. His receptionist I guess always marked that I was not charged. When I kept all my receipts of the visits. This had been going on for a year. I asked for them to look at his chart see the dates we had been there and go to their copy of the receipts which seemed like an impossible mission and they both refused. Basically I was paying for some of his staffs lunch I'm assuming. I think as a human being I would know how long I've been paying my copay or remember that as a matter of fact. He accepts cash or check only. If you don't have either he will decide if he sees your child as well. Then it got real ugly when he and his biller started yelling at me (literally) In front of my 3 1/2 year old. My son started to get scared so I stood up to leave. I told him I want a refund for all the fees. He tries to comvince me again yelling WHAT COPAYS YOU NEVER PAID!!! Dr. Firme has been my kids pediatrician for over 11 years. Even though I moved an hour away I make a big effort to continue to make the commute because he is the best. The office accommodates us best they can to get us in when the kids are sick. He is extremely knowledgeable, has a fantastic attitude to keep kids comfortable. My kids have been going to Dr. Steve Firme since birth of 2010 for my daughter and this year for my son. Dr Firme is a great doctor as I liked him very much. Sad to say his office staff ruined it for him ..... I will no longer bring my kids to Dr Firme . The staff is rude and clueless to anything you ask them when calling. As to a simple question how much is a flu shot ? My daughter did not have insurance at the time . The girl that anwsers the phone said the doc had to check my kid for dieases than tell me how much the whole visit was after. Also when I wanted to get my son circumsized they would not let me use his insurance that covered it ??????!! My daughter has been under Dr. Firme's care since she was born. A few weeks after she was born she developed jaundice and had to be hospitalized. Dr. Firme walked us through the whole procedure. He was understanding of our concerns and explained all the options. Since then for the last three years, he is provided consistent hands on care even calling in the evening when I only asked the nurse a question and did not leave a message. I have also had to wait for an appointment from time to time, but since he will see our daughter on a drop of a hat, I figure that other people had to wait when we had an emergency so I could return the favor. read more

Horrible horrible office they suck at scheduling my son was due for his shots he had a fever the day we went in they gave me an app for a month after, called in because I was unable to make it to my all time asked if I could go in before or after my app time and they didn't have anything available for the following month the checkups normally take 15 min or so and they couldn't squish us in on top of that the Dr is very rude to the kids he is not kid friendly whatsoever don't recommend this office do your research before going making app my mistake read more

First time bringing my 3 month old daughter here and Dr. Firme is awesome he answered all my questions throughly with examples to make it easy for me to understand better he didn't rush and took his time with us. The girls all seem friendly and seem like they like working with children. The rooms are spacious. The only thing is the waiting area is really small but that's something they have no control over so overall awesome first experience so far. I took my 5 year old for a physical and the doc was just grumpy, told me my daughter had a weight problem, and made her feel really uncomfortable! Started taking my son there back in 2009 when he was a newborn and back then he was such a great doctor and his staff were wonderful. The only complaint was when I had a 9 am appointment yet he would show up at 10 am. Other than that it was great. Now, his new staff is horrible. They talk to you with an attitude and obviously don't like their job, except for Rose. Rose is the only nice one. Dr. Firme has also changed significantly. Sometimes you would find him in a good mood, sometimes he would be in such a bad mood. He could also be such a smartass when you ask him question . this place is ridiculous. i arrived for my appointment a few minutes early and then sat in the waiting room for over an hour. i was then told that the doctor was really busy so it would still be at least another twenty minutes or so until we were seen. the place was a zoo! not enough chairs to accommodate their over booking, so kids had to sit on the floor and some families were waiting in the hallway. i'm sure he's a great doc but pediatricians are a dime a dozen. i cant believe they would book this many kids for one doctor. amazingly rude, unprofessional, and greedy to say the least. read more

I love Dr. Firme he is a wonderful doctor. He is very patient and informative. Every appointment he sits down with you for at least 10 minutes and discusses what developmental stages you should be at and what will be occurring next. He is the only doctor in the office so you always see him. When our son was sick one night I called the office expecting to get an answering service and it went directly to his cell phone and I spoke with him immediately. I would have given him a 5 but I do have a few problems with the office. The first one is from time to time he has a long wait. With a baby or toddler this does not always go well. I found that if I am 15 minutes early for my appointment I usually avoid the wait. The second is the receptionist. The receptionist always seems to be in a bad mood and when you call into the office to schedule a sick visit she is not very understanding. Today she was scheduling my son an appointment to get a second flu shot. I told her the doctor said that he only needed one and she said he didn't know what he was talking about. Really irritating when the receptionist thinks she knows more than the doctor. Luckily you don't have to deal with her too much and I think that the most important thing is the doctor. read more
