We were looking for a gas insert for a fireplace for a rental, and I had heard good things about Rainbow. I went in to get a brochure, and I set up an appointment for them to come measure the fireplace clearances to determine what would work. They do NOT charge a fee for the bid trip unless you live way out of town, and then if it's required, they apply that to your purchase! NOT what the other guys do. We paid our deposit after picking the unit, and they ordered the parts. Of course now we were approaching the Holidays, but they were extremely flexible in making the necessary appointments! We hired their suggested plumber (NW Plumbing - another great connection!) who had to come give us a bid to get the gas (and electrical) into the firebox before the insert could go in, and we set up a time to get that work done. Definitely a process with varied stages... Because we were trying to accomplish this during our heavy rain days, Rainbow was willing to do the work at different times, outside/roof work when dry and inside if weather was bad. Long story short, we got everything accomplished (plumbing AND insert) and completed over a two week time frame around Christmas! Rusty, the owner, is very friendly and informative with excellent communication; and Faith, his office scheduler, was amazing as well! His On Site team really knew their job and was able to make adjustments as needed to meet our desired outcome to a "T"! Although everything ended up costing a bit more than we expected before starting the process (what DOESN'T cost more these days?! ), we are so happy and pleased with the final product, the improved look and ease of gas, AND the heat at the push of a button, it was WELL worth it! Note: Be sure to ask about EVERYTHING that might be needed to make the finished product look like the brochure. Allen came out to the house and charged my older mom $196.00 for a service call, took parts to her heater with him, never heard back from them, the invoice even says they would be back. Call after call after call and getting no where she had to call someone else and wasted $196.00. She is on social security and this was a big chunk of money for her so she could stay warm this winter.. What happened to caring about people and doing a job right. This is the second time we tried to use this company. Every time it took several calls. Call for the service department, leave a voice message And we have never got the guy to return a phone call, Always have to leave several voicemails. Maybe the service guy shouldn't be the guy to call potential customers back.. I just think to return a phone call is easy enough For anyone to do. Or hire a phone person. After going to three other dealers, spent $5800 for a new wood stove two years ago. We are going on 3 weeks with a stove that doesn't work and they just cancelled on us again this morning because it is barely snowing in Burney. On top of that they county is on me cuz they pulled permits and never followed-thru on the inspection. Who can I buy a stove from that will stand behind their products?? A few days before Christmas I called Rainbow Pellet Hearth and Home as my gas fireplace was acting up. They returned my call that day, listened to my description of the problem, they knew exactly what I problem was and had the part on hand. When purchasing said part they explained how to make the replacement, when I got hung up (because I dont listen well) I called and they patiently went over it on the phone. I'm not sure exactly what is happening with this ownership or store, employees. But from my first interaction with one of the managers to the technicians I found them to be super condescending, passive aggressive, aggressive aggressive & rude. The way they speak to clients is incredibly disrespectful. The first conversation I had with them, I spoke to a very nice and helpful receptionist but that was as far as it went as far as customer service was concerned. I'm only assuming it was the store manager but a woman who was very escalated, impatient and condescending took the phone from her. I was belittled for not knowing the model of the fan in my fireplace. I already knew the fan was not working. I told them that I was happy to find the model number if they could help me locate it as there were many numbers on the unit. I gave it to her after patiently sitting there while she took pot shots at my intelligence for 25 minutes. But I dealt with it because I just needed my fan replaced. I called originally on the 20th of Dec. I was under the understanding that it would be fixed and replaced by the 1st of Jan. As the woman explained she ordered the part. I then got an unannounced service attendant at my property several weeks later. They hadn't even ordered the fan to replace it. I was condescendingly told "we aren't going to order parts without coming out here". Well that's interesting because the woman on the phone told me that she wouldn't send anyone out without knowing what the problem was so that she couldn't order a part, so which is it?I chose to take the high road and let them belittle my intelligence for that visit. The service tech finally showed up with the part yesterday, again unannounced. He started asking me questions about how my fireplace was wired and was annoyed that the kill switch for the electric wasnt wired to a wall switch and started talking about how dumb it was that it is hardwired. He angrily told me he didn't want to "get electrocuted "... and I agreed that I didn't want that either. I showed him the wall panel to ensure his safety, then he went after how "stupid and dumb" my panel labeling was for defining zones for turning off the power. After he installed a new fan, he texted me as I asked him because I was working and I then asked how I could pay him. I didn't hear anything back from him but got a call this morning from the woman that I spoke to the first time that was so aggressive. She was evidently angry that I hadn't paid the bill yet. I explained that I asked the technician how to pay it and didn't hear back. I am so glad these people are out of my life. I will do anything I can to not have to deal with them ever again. They are incredible passive aggressive. So a job that took him about 35 minutes cost me 500 bucks and 2 months. read more

Had a problem with my pellet stove and they couldn't get to it for a couple of weeks. They did however take the time to explain what the problem might be so I could fix it myself which I did. Pellet stove is back up and running for the holidays and I'm a happy camper. read more

Really I can't even give 1 star. Rainbow was paid a year and a half ago to replace the fan in our Lennox gas fireplace. It was a bent fan motor they installed and only worked for a couple of days. They have given me the run around since. The things they have tried to tell me are beyond rediculous. Stay the heck away from this business and don't waste your money. I plan on reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. read more

Both our fireplace insert and hvac system stopped working withing a few days of each other. We called Rainbow and spoke with Todd. He was very sympathetic and had a tech out the next day. I believe his name was Terry. He was running a head of schedule and asked if he could come early. He was here a little over 2 hours and had our fireplace completely cleaned and running beautifully. Even though he hadnt worked on this brand of fireplace before, he was so knowledgeable about fireplaces that it wasnt a problem. We didn't even know there was a fan until he came and got it all running. This company was so professional, curtious and responsive. We were expecting to pay threw the nose but we were pleasantly surprised. Very affordable! We would recommend them to everyone! read more

We were having trouble with our Osburn insert we had purchased 8 years or so ago. The fan was rattling horribly and was so loud it was almost deafening. The store we had purchased it from had gone out of business so we called Rainbow. It was 2 weeks before Christmas and we had a house full of company coming.Someone came out the next day and came to the conclusion we should get a new fan. He ordered it and it came in in a week. The soonest they could install was Christmas Eve. The repairman arrived early and proceeded to TRY to install the fan. Turns out it was THE WRONG FAN. Since our fan was still working he took it to the shop and cleaned it out so we could at least have it during The holidays. He brought it back and reinstalled it. I was relieved it to have it for our company and for the upcoming record breaking cold temperatures . The very 1st time we turned our "cleaned" fan on that afternoon it died and that was it. And to make a very long story short we waited and waited and called and called and and were assured they "hadn't forgotten about it us". Several weeks went by and they kept assuring us. Finally my husband called the Osburn himself and they knew exacting what we were talking about and sent us a new fan in a week. My husband installed it and we were back in business! WE NEVER HEARD ANOTHER WORD FROM RAINBOW PELLET STOVE STORE! My husband went in to tell them in March and the guy acted shocked and said " they told me they didn't have it!" Which if it was the case (as obviously wasn't) he didn't even have the decency to call us with this info??? These people are liars so beware! read more

these guys are great i use to use top hat but no more. i was told before they came out i needed a new stove but rainbow fix the problem in minutes and got me going again. there people really know there stuff and although hard its to get an appointment it was worth the wait. read more
