    Wonton Soup

I visited Rainbow Restaurant for the first time after the original restaurant I wanted to go to was closed. My daughter and I split the beef broccoli, and each got a wonton soup and vegetable egg roll. The wonton soup was very flavorful, the wontons soft and generously filled, and the crackers crispy and fresh. The egg roll unfortunately was very oily, but the beef broccoli made up for it. The portion was definitely big enough to split with leftovers and for the entire meal, including a pop we only paid $25.00 before tip. I felt the service was very underwhelming, but the restaurant itself was very clean with lots of seating.

Food is well prepared and is ready within a reasonable time. And unlike the previous restaurant a full meal.

This is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area. A totally enjoyable experience! The service is top notch! They have been in business for a long time and with good reason. They provide great food, reasonable prices, nice atmosphere, nice people and did I say, fantastic food? That deserves emphasizing! I just love the flavors, the tender chicken, the savory soups and the best spring rolls! The lomein here is just the best as well. I also so enjoy their soups! Rainbow is the spot for Chinese cuisine in the area! They really deliver!

Solid selection of traditional Chinese dishes! We often get carry out but tonight we dined in, the service was good, the staff was friendly and the food had great flavor! We started with the spare ribs and wonton soup both were delicious, especially the ribs! Then we got lettuce wraps and Szechuan chicken all the food was good we will be back!

If you enjoy good traditional Chinese American food, then this is the right place for you. The food is fresh and tasty. The portions are extremely generous so expect to take home a doggy bag. The couple behind us split a meal, which in hindsight, we should have done. We ordered 2 dishes that could have fed 4 people easily. The restaurant does a lot of carry out business as you can see from the photo. We arrived at 5 pm when there only a few people seated at tables. By the time we left, the place was filling up. The wait staff was super friendly and efficient. The place was busy and although the waitresses were in constant motion, they were still attentive to their guests.

Food was decent. I've had better but I have also had worse. The sesame chicken didn't have enough sauce on it.

You won't find the Americanized dishes like General Cao's chicken, but you will find one of the best presented but also deliciously tasted Peking duck - one of the most recognizable and celebrated Chinese dishes. I also love that they serve many dishes in porcelain chafing dishes to keep food warm, as foods taste better when they are kept warm. My personal favorites: lobster steamed with egg, eggplant and string bean stir fry and happy family soup. The desserts are great too. Check out photos for more. Ambiance: This is the standout among Chinese restaurants in Michigan. Many Chinese restaurants are out-dated. It is like you step into restaurants in China in 1990s. This gives you a more current fine-dining experience atmosphere. The large video screen in the main dining room also allows you to customize the image or video for your occasion, should you choose to celebrate a special event there. Service: It is not top notch, but it is get job done. The servers are friendly. Noteworthy: There are two floors. You may not know there is a large 14 seats private dining room downstairs with large TV screen. Great for private celebration. There is an elevator that you can use for those who don't want to climb stairs. The 8-seat Majiang themed room is beautifully designed. There are also two small dining rooms perfectly for an intimate gathering. Final verdict: after visiting more than 10 times, this is a review long overdue! In my book this is the best Chinese fine dining experience in town. It caters to various your dining needs: dating, business meal, private events or just for some fine food!

I got Beijing Zha Jiang Mian: delicious pan fried noodles topped with a sauce of savory fermented soybean paste and ground pork with fresh scallions and carrots. My husband got Beef Stir Fried La-Mian: tender sliced beef with bok choy stir fried with fresh noodles and a savory brown sauce. Our friends got soup noodles (I forgot which dishes) and they loved them as well. My only critique is that service was a little slow, even though the restaurant was half full. I got home and opened the food and it was filled with vegetables I was allergic to. I called and spoke with the person I ordered from they confirmed that it should've been made with only bok choy and was told to come back and get the correct food. I asked on this phone call if I would need to bring the food that was made incorrectly back they assured me I didn't. Then less than 10 minutes later called me back and said that the kitchen didn't think they made a mistake and to bring back the food to prove they were wrong. I came back with the receipt and incorrectly made item and inquired as to why they switched up in less than 10 minutes no response was given. Then a woman who I believe to be an owner opened up the food and started sifting through it with a spoon telling me what the vegetables were. Once I again reminded them that, that still isn't what I ordered she finally remade the food and made me wait again as they didn't have the correctly made meal ready as they promised me on both phone calls. This incident also violates Rule 3-306.14 of the Michigan Food Safety Code as well.
