I ordered through DoorDash and it was delivered still hot, order was correct and the taste delivered as well! I have been searching for solid Chinese food in the area and have come up short many times! One of the best Almond Chicken I have had. So many times in this area, the chicken is so tough and dry. This was the opposite! Tender, tasty with a great crust. I liked the gravy as well. All the dishes were very flavorful, tender and the sauces and veggies were also cooked well. One negative... there was a song playing on endless loop... A good friend lived in the area well over a decade ago and it has been that long since I've been in the neighborhood. I marveled at the changes, especially new residential construction along Beck Road. Royal Wall is tucked into a large strip mall, on Beck right before Pontiac Trail, going north. Planet Fitness serves as a marker if that helps. The restaurant has perhaps the best safety protocols I've encountered over this year of take-out, other than curbside, that is. Once you enter, you confirm your name, slip your card into the card machine behind a Plexiglass window, and your order is handed over to you in a drawer. I loved the ingenuity of this system. Now, on to the meal: The huge portion of tender Lemon Chicken was lightly-battered and crispy, served with an equally large portion of lemon sauce on the side. The subtle flavor was quite good. I like the Seafood Delight, shrimp, and "krab" meat in a Cantonese-styled sauce. The meal included fresh broccoli, firm baby corn, thinly-sliced carrots, and crunchy water chestnuts. Together, the meal was healthy and colorful. Lastly, I ordered the braised beef with tofu skin. This is my favorite Chinese dish; my dad makes it for me whenever I see my folks. Here, the meal is made with beef brisket, a tough and fatty meat (you've been warned) that is made tender through a long cooking process. It is braised in a flavorful sauce with tofu skin (my dad's version includes Shiitake mushrooms and dried chestnuts), well suited for those interested in different Chinese dishes. Excellent Almond Chicken! We tried the egg rolls and soup tonite. First service was supreme and very attentive. Second food was excellent. Hot sour, egg drop and wonton soups hit the spot- one of us ordered the sizzling rice soup and took it home (it's Pho sized with shrimp and vegetables galore)! My wife and I stopped in here for dinner on a Monday night. The dining room only had a couple of people, so we were seated right away. The server came over pretty quickly and took our order. I got the sweet & sour chicken, and my wife got the General Tso Chicken. We were both very pleased with our meal. While we were there, I can't count how many to go orders they had. Food was good. I highly recommend this place and it was the best Chinese I've had in years! Got a pickup order on a Saturday night. The dinner specials are affordable and are HUGE portions. We got a sweet and sour chicken special and a kung pao chicken special. Both for less than $30 total for 2 people and we could have fed another human being comfortably. Both specials come with soup and an egg roll (and you can swap the soup for another egg roll). Wonton soup was amazing. Egg rolls were some of the best I've ever had. Kung pao chicken was great. Sweet and sour chicken came with the sauce on the side so the chicken was still crispy and fresh. Again, HUGE portions for both. I finished the king pao and while I didn't regret it in the moment at all, I will regret it when I check the scale tomorrow. Inside looked nice, our pickup order was done early and it was easy as pie picking up. No long wait or anything. Only negative of the entire meal was that the sweet and sour sauce that came on the side had a very odd taste to it - almost like it was a little past due. Had carryout from this place. The food was quite awful. Shrimp fried rice was the only decent thing we had. Almond chicken was okay, but what happened to the good ol' days when it came on a bed of lettuce and the gravy was amazing. Not here. Bring your own gravy if you want to enjoy it! Noodles were definitely not home made... The food just made us all feel awful and full after eating it. I don't even want to know all the chemicals put in that meal. This is probably one of the better Chinese restaurants that's close to my office in Wixom that I get my takeout from often. I've ordered the Singapore Mei Fun several times and Chicken Lo Mein today, they're consistently good. $6.05 for the the Chicken Lo Mein lunch combo that comes with a soup and egg roll. I'm not even close to finishing it. When the menu said chicken, pork, shrimp under Singapore Mei Fun, I assumed it meant I had to choose 1 of the 3, but it comes with all of them! It's only $6.95, and it doesn't even look like I've made a dent after I have gorged myself. I love that you can place your order online on their website. Not many restaurants do that, much less a tiny place in an unassuming strip mall. My food was always fresh and ready on time. It really is clutch when I'm really busy with work and basically have enough time to drive there, pick up my lunch then come straight back to work. I found this restaurant online because it was within a 10-15 minute drive. I ordered Sweet and Sour Scrimp. I drove home and opened the package to discover that the scrimp was so hard and overcooked. The food was terrible and I will never order any food from this restaurant. I called the restaurant to complain and they offered to give me a credit toward another meal, but unfortunately I won't take another chance with the Royal Wall. I had a hankering for some Chinese cuisine around this area, and I wanted to find something that really hit the spot. Royal Wall popped up on Yelp and I took a shot at it for lunch. Coming in, I usually have a standard that I go for, which is Gai Kow (Chicken with veggies) and after reading some of the reviews, I soon found myself in the mindset of getting some crab rangoons as well. The lunch combination plate comes with a huge portion... not to mention a spring roll and a bowl of the soup of your choice. The crab rangoons that everyone was talking about? Holy hell are they good. Huge sized pieces, not just the small little ones... and actually too much for one person (as I found out). The service was great, as someone was always cruising by the table to make sure there wasn't anything else that was needed, and if anything else wasn't to my liking. The first time I came to this restaurant, I loved the food. Now, it is absolutely HORRIBLE. The chicken is ALWAYS pink in the inside, very doughy,chewy and some pieces of chicken were almost a brownish purple color. The rice is always dry and the fortune cookies are ALWAYS STALE. I tried to give this place another try and they failed. Again. Miserably. I give them 2 stars because the employees are nice..... don't eat here. My stomach is feeling upset. Also, the food must already be pre cooked, they tell you to wait 10-15 minutes and then come out in less than 5 minutes with your food already ready. It's not made fresh. My husband and I loved this restaurant when we lived in Michigan 11 years ago. We ordered our usual 2 dinners last weekend, and were totally disappointed. I ordered Chicken Lomein, and it was flavorless noodles, almost dry, with very little chicken in it. The chicken didn't taste like anything. It needed sauce desperately. This was the worst Chinese food I've ever had. My husband got the Almond Chicken, and it was better than mine, but the fried rice was weird and also tasteless. Then to top it off, we both had a stale fortune cookie. What a disappointing meal. We will never order from this restaurant again. I got chicken with vegetables in white sauce and the sauce was pretty bland but overall good because of the fresh vegetables! I don't recommend the hot and sour soup. Egg drop soup was good. I won't lie,... right off the bat, I have had better Chinese before. But on the follow-up, there's VERY few places that top this one. You can see from the rating that I really like this place, and here are a few reasons why. But first, a little backstory. My wife and I have lived in Novi for going on 3 years, literally only 0.5 miles away from this place, and haven't tried it due to one person's review. Well, fast forward to current date and time (and three orders in three days), and it's our favorite local Chinese Food place in Novi. 1) The amount of food you get, for the price, and quality; is amazing to say the least. For $20 (tip and delivery included), my wife and I got 2 full entree's, 2 big cups of soup, 2 egg rolls and 2 spring rolls (had to try them, everyone was talking about them on here). 2) We got delivery everytime (why drive .5 miles, when it's just right there. Support your local drivers with easy money. The Delivery has NEVER taken more than 15 minutes from order, to our door. It's ALWAYS been piping hot (almost too hot!), and very well prepared. 3) Who doesn't love a good Sesame Chicken dish. I always love to get mine drowning in sauce, but on the other side I love crispy chicken. I never get them both! Until now. I don't know how they do it, but a good 3/4th of my chicken is always crispy and literally covered with sauce. It's so good! I could go on and on about what's good about this place, but let's face facts, you guys want to know what NOT to get. I will honestly state that so far, only two things haven't met our expectations, but it's not even by any real reason other than we expected too much. 1) The Soups - I always get Wonton soup, and my wife always gets Egg Drop Soup. They are never prepared the same, no matter when you order them. It could be something small, such as a different texture on the wrapper or egg. To the broth is either light or heavy handed. That doesn't mean they are good, but what I'm getting at is the lack of consistency in their food (which is both a good and bad thing sometimes). 3) While the entree's have really nice portions, the egg rolls, spring rolls and wontons in the soup leave a lot to be desired. In the wonton soup, you get two wontons (everytime I've ordered, it's been the same), but with the amount of broth they give you, you wish for something more to slurp up with it. The egg rolls are very good, but usually very oily and sometimes pathetic on the inside materials. The spring rolls, while very good (with the duck sauce to dip!) are OMG greasy. Our fingers were shining by just picking these up for a few seconds. So in conclusion,... give this place a shot! You never know what you might like, and might find yourself liking. This is a great, local Chinese food place. As a heads up I tend to rate Chinese food by the quality of General Tso's chicken. I also had carry out so I can't comment on the dining experience. They were watching 2 1/2 men so they can't be bad. The crab and cheese won ton was really good. The General Tso was good but not great. It could have been a little hotter. That's nothing the sriracha can't fix. Portions are huge. The spring rolls were really good. Also, no msg, a cardinal rule for my wife I will be back. It's hard to find a good, go-to place. Was craving Chinese food on a rainy day and this place was on the way home. Most people seem to order take out and not eat in the restaurant. I ordered a pepper steak and onion combo with hot and sour soup. It also comes with a veggie egg roll which was pretty good, but oily. I also ordered a pork chow mein, but when I got home I realized they gave me the wrong order. I received some chicken and onion fish with white rice. What a bummer... I called and they offered to make me the correct order but who wants to drive back in the rain? They asked for number and put a note to give me 10% off next time... Food was mediocre. I also ordered a seafood soup which was pretty much egg drop with a couple imitation crab meat and scallops.
