We were looking for good Thai and a friend recommended this place highly. For me, pad Thai is a decent way to gauge the quality of Thai food. It's simple but also easy to mess up. Theirs is really good, not oily or dry. Also had the ginger shrimp which was great, and the fried ice cream. Their curry menu page also looks diverse and interesting for next time. The staff also were friendly and helpful. Best part maybe is the bright interior with a view over the Saugatuck river and the bridge. Lots of tables for four, five or six of them next to the tall windows. Only negative is parking. They're in the L-shaped building with Dunkin at opposite end and this place 2-3 doors from bridge. If you can't find parking in the small complex, definitely worth parking and walking over. read more

We are long time customers but the service and food quality has declined recently. Our last two orders had errors. In fact, the last one was completely wrong. When I called to inform them of the mistake, I was told that it was impossible that a mistake had been made and that they would not refund my purchase. After checking some previous reviews, we decided to tried our luck here. The restaurant is located next to a river with a view. We ordered red curry and pineapple fried rice and both are in decent portion. The food is delicious, although one chilly sign is kinda spicy for us. A tasty and solid Thai place. A guest and I came in for lunch recently. Service was prompt and water refilled. Always a good sign when you bring the spice. The scallion pancake was big and tasty. More like a Vietnamese crepe that is often served, but it worked and was filled with pork, shrimp and other goodies. The Sambal Chicken had a good flavor as well, though truth be told, I've had that type of dish many times before. Nothing wrong with it but nothing inspired either. The corn soup is a bit like the chicken & corn soup you find at Chinese restaurants. And pretty good too. Rich broth and would get it again. Their red curry chicken was perhaps one of the best Thai curries I've had in a while. It was hot, spicy, and fresh. It was worthy of making my eyes watery and my nose runny. The interior of this restaurant is nicely decorated. It's a little bit nicer than your average Thai restaurant but yet it is casual and comfy. It's kinda small so several customers had to wait for tables to become available. For some reason, many Westport families were bringing their entire families here, kids and all. After a complicated evening, our meal was delivered quickly by a friendly young man. The food was delicious, warm and not over sauced at all (my pet peeve is too much sauce.) The vegetables rolls were lightly deep fried with fresh food inside- delicious. The Pad See Ew (glass noodles) has a wonderful sauce and the Ginger dish with vegetables was fantastic, I had it with brown rice. I recommend this restaurant. Great thai food for a great price. The amount of choices was surprisingly good for a thai restaurant and the location was very homey--right next to the water. I would highly recommend the Pad Se Ew, as it is one of the better ones I have had. Always order the dinner portion if you are hungry, because the portions itself are a bit on the light side. Other than the food the atmosphere, setting, and service were excellent and I could not praise the staff any higher. My only complaint about the setting is that we were sat in the left corner of the restaurant, which is like a dark, dark dungeon. But the food made it worthwhile. read more

Not even sure where to start. Worst Thai experience I've had around here. Delivery - fast no doubt but forgot my extra peanut sauce and my spring rolls. Chicken satay- cold undercooked Nam Tok - chewy beef tiny portion soggy lettuce Padded - forgot chicken just overcooked vegetables and soupy no flavor. Red curry- soupy no flavor. At the end of this Thai rainbow is a pot of gold known as panang curry. It was the yummiest curry I've had in the U.S. and it came closest to the food I had in Thailand. It was very fresh, spicy, and bright tasting. The green papaya salad was also very good--not too sweet (something I too often encounter) and a good balance of flavors. I love Thai, and this place is as good as it gets. The best thing about this place is that I can get any dish Mild, Medium, Spicy, Extra Spicy, or Extra EXTRA spicy. Shrimp Pad Thai is amazing. So is their Pra Raam Chicken which made with cashew nuts, vegetables and peanut sauce. I usually get sticky rice on the side. As an appetizer I usually get the Roti Canai which is multi layered bread served with chicken curry. Without a doubt, the best pad thai I've ever had! It simply couldn't have been any better. Perfect amount of sauce and garnish, beautifully plated, and a very generous portion. I had dinner there with my family last night. Was my first time there and would happily go back! The service was excellent. The restaurant was very clean. The good was delicious. My sister ordered the Drunken Noodles. They were great, as expected. Dad had the Red Snapper which everyone agreed was the winner for best dish tonight. My mom had crispy duck which was wonderful too. I enjoyed the stuffer pancakes but wouldn't order it again, because there were so many other items which looked very appetizing. read more

I am a big Thai fan, and I've been a patron here once, a couple of weeks ago. Three friends and I went one night, after regular dinner hours, and were seated in the quiet restaurant, overlooking the water. The seats along the windows have excellent waterviews. Just like I have to try cheese/margarita pizza when I eat at a new pizza place, and have to try chicken tikka masala when I eat at a new Indian restaurant, I have to try pad thai at a new Thai place. This was one of the best I have had, the exception being the pad thai I had at a market in London. There are some excellent Thai places in this area, but this once topped my list of thai places. My friends had the drunken noodles, and massaman curry, and I tried both, which were excellent. The Massaman, another favorite, was thicker than I am used to, which I prefer. It bonded to the rice quite well. The pad thai had just the right amount of sweetness, tartness from the lime, and nuttiness from the peanuts. The portions were excellent, more than enough for someone who can eat myself sick. Looking forward to the next visit so I can give more useful information here! read more

Sorry, but never again. We went for dinner enthused by the reviews. Appetizers were served cold (they were supposed to be hot). Chicken in the main course was sent back as it tasted as if it had been cooked many hours before, and had been reheated just before serving. It had literally no taste whatsoever. The beer was cold. But the food was a dud. And the locale, while it has potential because it's next to a quaint bridge, was a typical stale fly-by-night "Asian" cheap-o restaurant - with high prices. Excellent food, really beyond what one has any right to expect in Fairfield County - better than 90% of the Thai restaurants in New York City (and maybe 50% of the Thai restaurants in Thailand based on my admittedly rather limited experience with those) Good beverage selection too. Also the staff are incredibly warm and friendly - we've been coming here regularly for about half a year now and they're always lovely to us. Great for kids as well - we have a now-almost-2-year-old daughter and they're extremely accommodating about table placements and menu tweaks. The view is a treat too, especially given that a depressingly large portion of restaurants in Saugatuck fail to take advantage of the fact that they have a pretty nice river flowing right next to them. Delivery service also solid, they take online orders on their website (faster than you-know-who and doesn't take a commission) and usually have our food at our door in about 30 minutes. read more
