My friend recommended The Bridge at Saugatuck because I wanted to take my other friend out for her birthday. It was easy to make a reservation for Saturday night at 8:45pm. There was street parking when we got there but they also have valet and some self parking in the back. As we walked in, the ladies at the host stand were so warm and inviting. They were also the cutest ever. They encouraged us to sit out on the patio versus the bar so we headed upstairs. Our waitress came over with menus and it went downhill from there. She was so inattentive that we had to ask the other waiter for things we needed. He was engaging, checked on us and we even chatted about his Jordanian heritage and my trip there back in December. Our actual waitress, however, checked on the table next to us 6 times (yes I counted) in between her checking on us. Even when I ordered a mocktail, I guess they didn't have the one I wanted so she brought me an entirely different drink without asking me. Then got upset when I didn't want it. The absolute audacity. As far as the food, we got the crab cake, lamb, whipped mashed potatoes and the bread. The food was good but the bread took it to another level. It should have been complimentary though but that's neither here nor there. Overall, loved the experience but wish we had another waitress. She didn't even acknowledge my friend's birthday. The food at The Bridge was delicious. The Tuna Tartare was fresh and tasty, the avocado was very well made as well. My steak was cooked perfectly. Melt in your mouth and so flavorful. The ambiance is very nice, elevated feel to the restaurant. We sat in the upstairs portion of the restaurant. This area they packed with tables very close to each other and was very loud. Other than that, I'd definitely dine here again! read more

Didn't love it at all. Wanted to but didn't. Owner was at the bar when I ate there and didn't exude a vibe where I wanted to linger and order more. In fact, it was so uncomfortable I ate fast and left. It's a gorgeous setting on the water and a wonderful remodel and I wish them well. Not sure if return though. Kitchen closes between lunch and dinner but they do have a bar bites menu between 4-6. Had the vegetable salad to make a healthy choice but it was drenched in dressing which detracted from any health benefits and I definitely wouldn't order it again. read more

We stopped in for dinner and truly enjoyed our time and meal. We were a bit early for dinner service so we had drinks at their outside bar and the bartender was really nice and helpful. For dinner we ate at the upstairs patio with a great view of the water. For starters we had the bread service which was excellent. The warm bread was served with an avocado butter which was so good. For our entrees I had the prime cut of steak which was cooked perfectly and served over carrots and a truffle purée of potatoes. It was absolutely delicious!! My girlfriend chose to have the Foie gras and she really enjoyed it. The service was excellent. The team constantly checked in making our dining experience perfect. read more

The jury is still out on this one. Decent experience here for date night. For starters, killer location on the Saugatuck River in Westport. But, if you want to enjoy it, be sure to let the restaurant know that when you make a reservation. They stuffed my wife and me on the second floor near a window unit air conditioner. The tables were on top of each other up there, and it was crowded. I felt like I was back in an east village hole-in-the-wall. The front of the house was meh. I wouldn't say we were greeted warmly. The service needed help. I think they had one poor waitress for the entire second floor. She was slow--understandably. But generally professional. The food was good, if a bit over seasoned. My wife had the scallops and I had the halibut. We started with the octopus, which was nicely cooked. Bottom line--the folks in the kitchen know what they're doing are doing. But this place can't hold a candle to the Whelk (right down the street), except for one thing--it's outdoor bar and view of the river. read more

Decided to meet some friends around 5:30Pm on a Wednesday. Bar seats were nearly full. Several Lounge Tables available but host unwilling to give up tables as 7pm reservations were made. We assured him we would be gone by then, but he was unwilling. We took ourselves( 4) down the street to the W restaurant where they were accommodating and appreciative. There is limited first floor seating at the Bridge, granted; but don't make happy hour and dinner on a Wednesday difficult. This was our second visit with similar difficulties. I brought my friend here for her birthday & it was very good. I love the ambiance, it's a great spot for a date or special occasion. To start, we had drinks & a caesar salad. Both were good. Wonderful and exciting new restaurant. With an exceptionally vibrant buzz. The food is well prepared, presented and of course, delicious. The table bread is from Chaves Bakery and is outstanding. The setting and beautiful bar a winners. We had one serious issue that impeded us from fully enjoying our experience here and that is the over the top decibel noise. So loud, one could hardly hear the person across the table from you. Yes, it was crowded, but the physical acoustics were terrible. So bad, I'm not sure I would go back. Management really needs to get a handle on this! One star deducted for awful noise level. read more

Valet parking. A beautiful view of the Saugatuck bridge. Downstairs is a very welcoming bar that looked like a good time. We sat upstairs overlooking the bridge and River. This is a well appointed restaurant. The prices are high but the service and food are excellent. We started with a pull apart bread and a tuna app. Both were outstanding. For meals we had scallops, a crab cake with Caesar salad, angliotti pasta and I had the haddock. All were delicious. Our server was very attentive throughout. It is a loud atmosphere so take that into consideration. A nice new addition to river dining. read more

In town visiting family and went tonight for the first time and had some trepidation because of some of the reviews. I was very pleasantly surprised. We ordered Caesar salad which had an outstanding presentation and was very, very good. The Branzino was one of the best I have had and seemed to be very lightly pan fried with a thin crispy coating and very delicate and delicious fish. Excellent quality and presentation. With the first bite of an entree here I knew I had to try each dish eventually. This is the kind of place chefs will go to eat. The food here is unique, innovative, expertly crafted and memorable. The Cod and steak just melt in your mouth so perfectly cooked and seasoned. The mashed potatoes made me envious. I had thought I finally had mastered this dish but Chef Lewandowski makes them better! There is literally food here for all young old and various diets. The ambience is chic moody and electric at night and calm coastal vibe during the day. I've been here for a date, girls night and business lunch. Make a reservation in advance - it is very popular or see if you can grab something at the bar they have an amazing mixologist. As with other reviewers, we too are Westport locals and were looking forward to The Bridge opening. But -- as with other reviewers -- the experience proved disappointing. The bartender deserves five stars but what's with the hostile owner? We came as a party of six having drinks and food at the bar and he basically frowned at us the entire time. Not to mention he complained we were "standing too close" to a high top bar-area table. Dude: if you place a high top table four feet from the bar it's kinda hard to maintain a ton of distance. Maybe don't try to jam in an extra table there - terrible spot for a full sit-down meal. Food was okay but not worth the price. And what's with the "valet parking"? We pulled into the lot behind the restaurant, parked our car, and were walking to the door when a guy runs up and says it's valet parking. Hint: it's not valet parking if you park your own car and then give your keys to someone after the fact. Not to mention, there's no need for valet parking if a restaurant has a huge parking lot immediately adjacent. This is not Manhattan where a real valet has to whisk your car away to some off-site location and bring it back after dinner. We definitely would not return -- and we live just 3 minutes away. The bar scene is hoping at this new addition to Saugatuck. We were seated upstairs at the front of the room facing the bar below. Unfortunately, the music level was painfully loud and I couldn't hear my dining partner. I couldn't even hear the waiter talk to us. While the food was tasty , portion sizes were very small and over priced. The waiter kept rushing us and trying to take plates off the table while one of us was still eating. We had a 5pm reservation and they were pushing us to get off the table within 45 minutes of being seated. Not appreciated when dinner for two was $300 including a couple cocktails. They have to do something about the ear piercing volume of the room. read more

we had dinner on 8/21/25 and had a very underwhelming experience . the restaurant is very nice but the food not so much. octopus was very chewy, broccolini was 90% stems and undercooked, the steak was cooked perfectly but was served lukewarm and not seared which is unacceptable for $66 steak. my wife ordered a glass of wine which wasn't to her liking so she ordered something else in exchange and when the bill came the drinks and and the wine were on the bill . of course the restaurant made the adjustment but we should not have had to review the bill to see if the restaurant took the wine off in the first place we will not be returning and we would not recommend going to this restaurant read more

Sadly, this really should have been a 5+ star review. All the food was spectacular. My three courses: foie gras, lamb, and sticky toffee pudding were all among the best I have ever had. That being said, their table reservation policy is both suspect and rather rude. Weeks ago, we made an 8:30 reservation for a party of 3. We live in Fairfield, 15 minutes away. At exactly 8PM, (I was still in the shower), my wife received a text from the Bridge saying our table was ready, and come be seated! She responded both to their text, and also called them, telling the woman who answered that we were in Fairfield, and we are meeting someone who was coming from an hour away, and we would not be able to take table until 8:25, the earliest, but we definitely would be there by 8:30. She said, "Fine, no problem". We arrived at 8:25, only to be told that they had given away our table because they couldn't seat us earlier. We declined their offer to go into the very crowded and noisy bar; and we ended standing and waiting in a very busy narrow hallway near the restrooms and swinging kitchen doors. We were kept waiting for close to half an hour before we were finally seated. Not only that, but beyond the cursory thanks for your patience from our waitress, there was nothing said or done to acknowledge the long delay seating us on their part. read more

Really loved it, the food was amazing!!! We had high expectations and they were exceeded. We started with a classic Aperol Spritz, very refreshing and always tricks the mind into believing vacation has started. We wanted the shellfish app to start but decided to just head for mains (we'll be back for that). The duck was perfectly cooked and had a delicious crust, with a beautiful cherry sauce. My son really liked the Mediterranean Branzino (especially 'the stuff on the top') and my wife loved her Black Truffle Agnolotti (and she has a serious palette). The sorbet (mango, raspberry and lemon) is for sure house-made, didn't need to ask. I would probably triple-up on the Raspberry, sweet and tart, but that's just preference. My little guy had a nice piece of poached Salmon from the kids menu. We sat in the dining area upstairs with the larger tables. Very nice, great service, not pretentious. My wife and I will be back for a date downstairs where the action is around the bar. And on our way out we noticed the outdoor area with a bar and taps ready for Spring. And there are boat docks, we just need the boat now. read more
