I have received massage services from Raindrop Bodyworks twice now with my most recent visit occurring just a couple weeks ago. I think the staff are all lovely and nice. The massage therapists are very accommodating, making sure to take extra care with the areas of your body that have the most tension. The space is clean and minimalist, which I love. And the prices are incredibly fair (mid-range prices of about $65 for a 50 minute massage). I am not giving a perfect five star rating, however, for a couple of MINOR reasons. -The space is small which makes it difficult to get a same day appointment, especially in the evenings after 5PM or on the weekend. -The parking lot is also small (roughly a dozen or so spaces) and is shared with a yoga studio and a few restaurants. Depending on the time of day, finding a parking space is tough -Not a major complaint but they do not sell any products. I have been to places before that sell aromatherapy or skin-care products. I enjoy having quick access to some of the products used on me during my session. It's not necessary but would have been a nice touch. Overall, I highly recommend Raindrop and will continue to be a repeat customer. read more

This little place is clean and pleasant. Front desk very freindly. But they never answer the phone. Or return calls. Very frustrating. Right now there are only two massage therapists working there. So not much to choose from. They are both good though. If not a bit surly. I did ask some questions regarding changing of sheets etc. This was not taken very well. And was actually mentioned the next time I went there. With some resentment .... The Therapists are just as pleasant as they have to be. But sincerity is lacking. If I hadn't joined the program. I probably wouldn't have gone back after the last time. There are many many massage places in this area - where you have a choice of therapists who are sincere and like their jobs. read more

All mothers-to-be, rejoice! I've had a wonderful prenatal massage and my body feels completely restored and calm. This isn't a Burke William's style posh spa, but the facility is clean, calm, quiet with wonderful, friendly staff. Since it was my first massage here, I opted for 50 minutes prenatal massage for $60. When I made the appointment, the lady made sure I get a prenatal specialist and asked me how long I was along. She explained what to expect during the prenatal session, since it is different from getting a regular massage. My therapist, Ellie, was simply wonderful. Once we were in the room, we discussed my overall pregnancy condition, my sore areas, areas to avoid, etc. She was full of knowledge about the spine, pelvis, vitamins to take, etc. (almost like a midwife!) Then I laid down side-ways on the massage table with plenty of comfortable pillows. Ellie was gentle but firm, and really understood the pregnancy body. For the price and service, this place is spot-on. Again, it's not a high end place with showers, saunas and fluffy robes but if you want to treat yourself (and you should!!!) and give the baby the best care you can give, this is a great place. This is my go to massage place. Free parking and Dey is the best. Dey is so good I always fall asleep. She is strong and tall, but it's not painful. She's also nice. Milo is good too. I wanted to leave a review after my first visit but decided to wait an additional 2 treatments and 3 months later in order to provide grounded feedback. Simply put, this place is a gem. The staff is warm and inviting, parking is straight forward, and you get the biggest bang for your buck every single time. Strictly regarding the esthetician services - "Ellie" is one of the best. Not only does she listen to your needs and create custom treatments, she explains everything thoroughly and constantly checks in to make sure you're okay. I've received one facial, and two chemical peels. Unlike other places, when Ellie offers a better treatment prices don't sky rocket and her suggestions REALLY do work!! Five stars for my massage, three stars for the scattered (but really friendly) customer service experience equals four stars overall for my Raindrops Bodyworks experience. I booked a deep tissue massage since I'd been experiencing some back pain. As someone who isn't a fan of massages that are supposed to be relaxing, I very much enjoyed the deep tissue massage I received since the massage therapist really did some work and I definitely felt it. She was very skilled and surprisingly strong. My back felt much looser afterward and I definitely recommend giving the deep tissue massage here a shot. As for customer service, the receptionist was very helpful and likable but it took a bit to make an appointment (the computer hadn't booted up yet when I'd called even though it was well past their opening time according to their business hours and it took over an hour to get a return call), the door was locked when I arrived for my massage and I stood outside waiting for about five minutes (which I get- LA traffic is bad), and I never did hear back after they copied my insurance information and said they would check for me to see if my provider covered future therapeutic massages. Again, service was very pleasant and the first two things I could write off as minor glitches but offering to check my insurance/copying my info but then never getting back with me felt disappointing (and yes, I've checked my email and voicemail- there's nothing). Overall though, I'd recommend Raindrop Bodyworks. They're a clean establishment offering solid services and they have a free parking lot. read more

The receptionist Darlene is so friendly and Gladys provides amazing massages. I feel so lucky to have found this place. I'm sure the other massage therapists are also amazing. I just have chosen to stick with Gladys. Every employee I've met has been so friendly to me. The other day I met the person who does Reiki, Benny. I might consider Reiki at some point as I've been curious about it for a long time. Benny was extremely friendly when introducing himself and so that left a great impression on me to try Reiki. My boyfriend and I came here for facials on our anniversary and both left feeling really relaxed and ready to change up our skin care regimen!! There was only one facial esthetician (I think her name was Ellie?) so we had to take turns but we both really didn't mind. The esthetician really got to the root of our problems, giving us really good suggestions on how to change up our routine and what products she recommended. She really took into account our lifestyles and our past skin care routines and notified us of what works and what doesn't. I'm visiting the area right now and decided after traveling from the east coast and sleeping on an air mattress, I could really use a massage. I just stumbled on this place by walking by (and ok, patronizing the donut shop below it.) I called yesterday, the day before Thanksgiving, on the off chance that they would have an appointment available. Turns out, they did, and about 2 hours later, my appointment began. I should first shout out to whoever answered the phone to make the appointment because she was super cheerful and friendly. The receptionist was very nice and got me set up when I came in. I met Dey, who did my 90 minute deep tissue massage. Now, I've had many deep tissue massages in the last few years, most at chain places but some at spas. Or so j thought. Turns out, I actually had no clue what deep tissue massage feels like. Holy freaking hell, it was painful. Dey is super strong. I probably should have asked her to ease up a little because at times I thought I was cry or scream. That said, she did manage to seek and destroy every single knot in my body, and I know once the soreness wears off, I'll feel great (NB: If you're thinking about getting your first massage here and this is scaring you, note that only a deep tissue massage will make you sore and once it wears off, you feel better than ever.) The appointment ran for exactly 80 minutes, with 5 minutes at the beginning and end to change. Dey was great the entire time--not chatty but did check in with me. The best part is this was only $85, before tip. Back home, that's what I usually pay for a regular 60 minute massage. So, I highly recommend Raindrops and Dey, but if you're worried about the pressure, don't opt for deep tissue unless you really are prepared for the pain before the relief. If I come back to this area again, I'll definitely be making the visit to Raindrops again. read more

I recently decided to get the monthly membership to treat myself to a monthly pre-natal massage. I am so not disappointed! All the therapists have been amazing, but Ellie has really been such a gem when it comes to pre-natal massage. I'm in my second trimester and came here for a prenatal massage with Dey. I haven't been sleeping well and have upper and lower back pain. She was amayzing and worked on all of the tension points that we discussed. Since it was my first prenantal massage, she educated me on pressure points that trigger labor and should be avoided until 36 weeks. She was willing to chat when I wanted to and stayed quiet when I didn't. I would highly recommend her and plan on going back, especially in my third trimester when the aches get worse. I took off a star because I signed up for the 1 hour special for $49 but only got 50 minutes. I wouldn't complain if Dey wasn't so good but I really wanted her to keep going. read more

I bought a massage coupon from tippr.com for raindrop bodyworks- First I was hesitant because this place didn't have any reviews- But I decided the deal was so good, I wouldn't have much to lose - I had a deep tissue massage with Alina Kelly, and boy it was great. I always wonder how such delicate looking people can exert so much pressure. I spend a lot of time in front of a computer typing and my shoulders and neck get really stiff sometimes, despite the at least twice a week yoga classes I go to. The full hour felt like 10 minutes or less - I was almost falling a sleep when I was told it was over- ! The price is great, and the service was great- They have a deal for $39 massages if you come every month for 6 months and I am going to take advantage of it- $39 for an hour massage. I heard about this place thru livebooker.com and I went in as a couple with my husband on 04/15/11 for a deep tissue massage. From the moment we walked in, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I've been battling a bad cough and Milo went out of his way and bought me some Halls. That was very nice of him and because of him, I was able to enjoy my massage w/o a cough. The facility is really clean, they have soft music throughout the location. I really liked the couple's room and from what I saw on the other rooms, they were really nice as well. They had low candle lights with rose pedals throughout the room (very relaxing and romantic) Haha...Now, Dey she was amazing! She was great and made sure I was comfortable with the pressure. I woke up this morning with an intense knot in my left neck shoulder area. I couldn't move my neck/head without looking like robocop. I did a yelp search in my area and saw that Raindrop Bodyworks had good reviews and a $49/hr first time special. I called at 2:30 and was able to get a 3:30 appointment. Yippee! I was greeted by a really nice receptionist who offered me water. I filled out a one-page form and grabbed a free copy of LA Yoga Magazine. Two minutes later, my therapist, Gladys, greeted me and showed me to the room. It was dark and lit with fake candles and had really great relaxing music in the background. To be honest, I was a little skeptical because Gladys looks really young. She is very cute and little so I didn't think she was going to be able to give me the deep tissue that I wanted. However, she proved me wrong!! She really worked out the knot. She was really strong and direct but without hurting me. After working on my back, focusing on my neck and shoulders, she did each of my appendages and then had me lay on my back and finished with my shoulders again. It was amazing. This was the best massage I've had in a looooong time. It was comparable to the massages I get at resorts in Hawaii or Las Vegas, but for a fraction of the price. Did not expect this kind of massage at a strip mall on the corner of Overland and Palms! I am really looking forward to going back to Gladys! read more

I have had a tension headache for the past four days. I woke up today and it had gotten even worse. I had to do something. I've been passing Raindrop Bodyworks forever and it was the closest option. I made an appointment and went in at noon today. Gladys was wonderful and focused on all of the areas I had specified. She gave me a combination Deep Tissue and Swedish massage. The room was the perfect temperature and the music wasn't intrusive. I felt relief for the first time in days. They apparently also take insurance and have a chiropractor there. Oh and it was waaaay too cheap! I think I paid $49 for an hour and it beat most of the $75/ 50 minute spots as well as my last Burke Williams massage. I will absolutely go back once a week. I went in today with my wife for a couples massage. She surprised me for my birthday by waking me up and saying "We have a reservation at Raindrop get ready!" Having only had one previous experience with a professional massage I had no idea what to expect. Let me tell you these girls were absolutely STELLAR! My masseuse was hitting spots I had no clue even existed! As I write this, I am feeling like all my tension and pressure has just melted off of my body and I am left feeling like a clear, open window looking out at a magnificent sunrise. Being 28 weeks pregnant, I was having this back pain in an area that I only get when I have worked out wrong. I was looking to get a massage that day because it started to be unbearable! I found Raindrop Bodyworks on one of the discounted sites and decided to try it. Thank goodness I did! Not only did ELLIE hook up the prenatal massage, but she also offered a suggestion to stretch the area of concern. LIFE SAV-VVEERR!!!! I will be coming back in 2 weeks for sure! Ahhhhhh. I've lived two blocks from Raindrop for eight months. Last week I went in for my first time. Since then, I've been kicking myself for not going earlier. I forget the name of the woman who gave me my massage - she was young, with dark hair. And I should remember, considering it was an absolutely amazing massage. Now, I like rough massages - I like deep, deep pressure, so you're sore the next day, then the day after that your muscles are stronger and kneaded out. It's hard to find a masseuse who's good at the breaking-down-only-to-build-you-up technique. Even better? Before I left, she taught me some stretches to help with my lower back pain. Bought the Yelp deal and went in for an 80 minute aromatherapy massage with Gladys; while she looked young, I was very impressed with her massage. It was the perfect level of pressure (I'm not one for deep tissue or too light) - firm but not painful. The oils did sting a little bit but she told me it was normal and removed the hot towel when I asked. I think she ended up giving me a few extra minutes (I checked the time when I left), and maybe it was all the essential oils going to my head or the fact that I literally felt high, but I ended up purchasing the $42/month deal. I know couple's massages are supposed to be romantic and intimate but the flower petals on the floor were just too much for me. I appreciate the thought but I kept feeling like I was in a bad romance movie. I thought it was nice that the massage tables were heated and that they provided large warm blankets to cover ourselves. I hate being cold during a massage. Anyway, my masseuse wasn't bad for a white woman (sorry to sound racist and sexist), but I generally only like massages from men or tiny yet strong Thai women. Our 80 minute massages were relaxing and comfortable. The pressure wasn't as deep as I had expected for a "deep tissue" massage (probably because my masseuse was a she and not a he??) but I had a good time nonetheless. It was a bit awkward how close the masseuses stood by our room's door on the way out. Tried this place on valentines weekend and it was awesome. I forgot that name of my masseuse but she was really great. She asked where I had most problems and I told her my shoulders since I hold a lot of tension there and that definitely became her concentration. She took out a couple of knots that were there (using her elbows of course), and while it was a little painful, the relaxed feeling my shoulders had afterwards was well worth it. The rest of the massage on the rest of my body was great and not painful at all, very relaxing. I am definitely thinking about signing up for their membership ($42/mo, one massage per month instead of paying $60 without the membership). Staff is also courteous and the place is clean and lovely. I found this place on yelp and am glad I did. I came in my first time for a couples massage which was excellent. Both our masseuses were good, they hit the spot for both of us and we walked out feeling super relaxed. I loved my masseuse Gladys so much I signed up for their 6 month offer which was $38 a month and you get one massage a month, they carry over which I thought was great cause some months I got too busy to come in for my massage. I love that I can call and almost always book an appointment for my desired day/time, even if it's last minute! I've only used Gladys and am super happy with her, she is awesome! She's got great hands, uses just the right amount of pressure, always gets my knots out and hits all my problem areas I specify. I like that the place isn't super fancy, it's simple but has class. The room is always clean, temperature is always just right, I have sensitive ears so I always request to have the music turned down and they gladly do. They have heated tables for those cold days and nice blankets to cover you with and keep you warm. I get cold easy so these touches are appreciated! They recently started offering yoga, I haven't taken it but I just bought a groupon for their yoga and will be giving it a try very soon, I'm sure their classes will be just as great as their massages. I took the advice of other Yelpers and booked with a massage therapist named Dey. She was really fantastic. Knowledgeable, listened to what I needed and wanted and had a great touch. I gave 4 instead of 5 stars because the draping was just too "proper," and she didn't work at all on my glutes. Come on, we're both women. But, whatever, still a good massage. The space itself is small and unassuming, but the actual massage room was tranquil with low lighting and nice music. They have deals all the time, through Yelp, Facebook and their mailing list...so try to grab one and book a massage! read more

I've been here twice in the past months and I like the laid-back practical vibe. Most massage places have an Asian oriented theme but Raindrop is more neutral to ethnic undertones. I guess the theme they have is relaxation and meditation are great universal ideas. The cost is reasonable, the clerk at the front is accommodating, and the rooms are serene. I'm 23 weeks pregnant and have not been getting a good night's sleep for the past few weeks. I've been waking up with a lot of minor back pains lately, but usually they'd go away throughout the day. Yesterday, I woke up with my neck and upper back in excruciating pain -- so bad I was actually in tears. I booked an appointment for a prenatal massage today on Lifebooker.com and couldn't wait for my visit. I had my massage with Ellie and she was AMAZING. The massage was the most relaxed I've been in weeks. I've never had a prenatal massage before and didn't know what to expect. Apparently you're not supposed to go too firm with a prenatal massage, but she did what she could and she loosened up my neck and shoulders a LOT. Words can't describe how amazing I felt after the massage. I felt so much better that I wanted to give her a hug. The massage was so amazing that I booked another one for the next week. She did recommend coming back soon since she'd noticed there was a lot of tension up in my shoulders, but the massage was so incredible that I was ready to book again anyway. Even better, when I asked the receptionist if I could book through Lifebooker.com and then call to request Ellie, she allowed me to book right then and that they would give me the Lifebooker discount anyway! (I should note that the regular price is actually very reasonable -- much better than I've seen at other massage spots in the same area.)
