These people do not value their patrons. They pretended to be nice to my sister and I just to get us to tip them. With the exception of a 1 or 2 mild annoyances, we had a good experience until it came time to pay. They gave me the total and asked me if I wanted to leave a tip. I said, yes and told them an amount that was 10% of our total. The woman scoffed and asked, " Is it 10% per masseuse?". I said no 10% total. She snobbishly pointed to a sign, looked off and said, "maybe you would like to read our suggested tipping guidelines. How about $x? Can you do that?" Regretfully, I went ahead and gave them a little extra tip. As, I walked through the door I turned back and said thank you ladies! She said nothing in return. Apparently, she was waiting to complain to the next masseuse. This was my first and last time supporting this business. Too bad for them prior to that incident we were planning on each returning with friends. No where on their site or in store does it state that tipping is mandatory. How much a customer decides to tip is up to the customers discretion. They are not required to pay more than what is quoted for the cost of the services they receive. If you don't appreciate your customers patronage then you don't deserve their business or tip. read more

I rate this place 4.5/5 I found this on yelp because of the reviews decided to try a couples massage. Although they had good reviews, there wasn't many pictures of the place or did I know it would be in a shopping plaza. However, upon entry to my surprise the place looked just like the few pictures and the two staff members were very welcoming. You get right to it, they took us to the room and as we're getting ready for our massages we both mentioned we wished it were more comfortable massages beds because they looked a little on the cheaper size (sorry to say) However, our massages were really good. We both rated them a 9/10! I had a Male Massuse (I believe he was Asian, with long black hair I wish I had his name) and my boyfriend had a female (Asian lady, who was also our check in person) I liked that my Massuse asked me questions about pressure or any areas I wanted him to stay away from or focus on, so I was completely relaxed and happy with mine. My boyfriend said his lady was a little rough but it's what he needed for his knots. In the end I would definitely be back and would recommend. $154 (before tax) for a couples massage!? Just left The Mist Spa and feel so rejuvenated! I booked a couples massage (Thai - 60 min) and a back facial. Booking was quick and easy! As for service I had Anna for both my massage and facial and it was incredible!! She really paid a lot of attention to the tense/tight areas I noted when I first arrived. The full massage was amazing but I especially enjoyed the end when she did my head and face. The back facial was just as relaxing - I fell asleep when she massaged my scalp again! It was my first time getting a back facial and she made sure to ask me what I wanted to focus on as well as what she could do when looking at my skin. I cannot believe I was lucky enough to find this magical place within walking distance of where I live! Thank you, thank you Melinda for your amazing talents! I came here with some serious neck and shoulder tension and knots due to poor sleep and prior whiplash and was looking for a myofascial release massage, the only thing in the past that has helped. Luckily Melinda was there to be my massage therapist. She was so in tune with the pain I was feeling and my breathing patterns and I really appreciated how she would ask me constantly if I needed any adjustments to the pressure. She has strong hands and really got into the knots and a few days later, I feel immense relief and my shoulders have loosened up a good amount. She also had some suction cup tools she used during the massage that helped with circulation. The prices are decent as well. I can't wait to come back for more relief! This place is a massage oasis in West LA. First time here! 45 min Swedish massage with Anna, price was $70, she did a great job getting into my knots and loosening me out. The massage room was clean and relaxing. However, when I sent her my tip of 15%, I was told that the tip was unacceptable. She said - " This tells me you are not satisfied with my service...It is not like when you sit at a restaurant and the waiter sets a plate of food in front of you." I felt bad, so I added $7, totaling to a 25% tip, however I don't think any person should feel bad for how much they are tipping as it is up to their discretion. The way that Anna talked to me about the tip made me feel highly uncomfortable...all in all it was a rude and unpleasant confrontation. read more

This is an incredible find! I have been back numerous times and seen a variety of therapists. The prices are affordable compared to the many "luxury" places in the area. $80 for an hour and then I tip additionally. I have had really good experiences with deep-tissue massage to alleviate chronic neck and back pain. I woke up this morning unable to turn my head with a ton of pain, but after 60 minutes at the mist spa, I feel 100x better. read more

I brought my fiancé here for his birthday to get a 90-minute couples' massage and OMG it was amazing!!! As soon as we walked in we were both pleasantly surprised by how clean it was. We were politely greeted, told to fill out a form, and then promptly taken to our low-lit and delightfully ambient room. The deep tissue massage itself exceeded our expectations--and was quite brutal at times (which is a good thing!) It really made us see how much tension we hold in our muscles without even realizing it. Michelle and Emma were polite, professional, and extremely skilled at what they do. The whole experience was supremely relaxing and gave us exactly what we were looking for. Prices were also very reasonable, and truly worth every penny! Thank you Mist Spa!! I found this Spa while looking for a massage on the West Side. I did my research, and read reviews, and chose The Mist Spa. I couldn't be happier. My therapist was Patty, and she was AMAZING. I wish I lived closer, because I would be there at least once a month if I did. A full 60 minutes too. No 50- minute hour there! OMG, that massage was incredible! I came here after work for a deep tissue massage and Mona was able to knock out all my knots. I actually was able to feel a noticeable difference from when she first started the massage and once the knots went away. THANK YOU! The rooms provide a relaxing spa ambiance once you walk in complete with calm music and plush blankets. I've tried about five different massage places in Santa Monica and this sits at the top. A one-hour massage is $70 ($68 if you pay with cash) and I love the fact that they also offer both a 30-minute ($50) and 45-minute ($60) option as well. Pay in cash for a $2 discount. This was my first time visiting and I am a fan! It was super easy to book and appointment and I was matched with Melinda as my massage therapist. She's the best, I highly recommend her!!! Off the bat, she asked about any pain or areas to focus on. She ensured she understood my needs. It was one of the best massages I've had, ever! One small complaint, the room was a bit cold. I was always covered and had a very comfy thicker throw on top, but the overall temperature seemed to be a bit low. The ambiance in the massage room is great, but overall it can use a bit more calming and relaxing vibes. It still feels like getting a massage in a strip mall. Not sure what that was but I know what it was not- it was NOT a massage. I paid $85 for someone to rub lotion and press her fingertips ever so lightly on me. Anybody else would probably have stopped the session early on but I had no idea what to say especially given that she was so polite. I came out wondering if that was just her version of a Swedish (I booked a deep tissue) even though I've gotten a few Swedish in the past and there was at least some pressure, minimal as it was, but she said no, that's a deep tissue. Um no, deep tissue?! That wasn't even the pressure you use to tap eye cream delicately under your eyes with your pinky. Mind boggling how this place has so many positive reviews. Just another reminder of how many grains of salt are required with 99% of Yelp reviews. That and maybe Westsiders don't know the difference between a masseuse and a person who is paid to rub lotion on you. read more

Unprofessional!!! I booked my appointment 4 days in advance. Received a confirmation txt 1h 30min the day of my appointment to which I confirmed to. Still once I arrived the spa was completely empty only the receptionist who looked annoyed to see us. She asked if I booked my appointment I told her, Yes! 4 days ago and confirmed to the confirmation txt they send out this morning. She looked confused and start txting after a few min she tells me the spa therapist will be 15-20min late due to not knowing or they were notified that they had clients. I had a couples massage, mine was very good but the other masseuse was coughing and had to leave in the middle to cough more. In addition after the massage I left a tip but was criticized (by the masseuse) for not leaving a better tip despite a tip being optional in the first place. Would not go back. read more
