A lot of fun. I have been wanting to come here with my family for years. The waiters and waitresses call themselves safari guides, which I thought was creative. There is a thunder and lightning storm every half hour where the lights go out and the room flashes! Our food was delicious! However, I took a star away because there was a dirty fork left on my table from the previous customers and my son almost used it til I realized. Also, we were served cheese bake that was watery with no spoon which it did take a long time to get a spoon. Other than that the steak was perfect. The mashed potatoes were perfect. The hickory chicken was good. You can taste that the chicken was fire grilled and I could cut through it with the side of my fork. The cheese bake had scallops and shrimp and was delicious. The only downside was that the cheese bake was watery. The fish was perfect and breaded shrimp was crunchy. Overall, the plates were sized well and we left with full tummies. I think most people come for the fun atmosphere. They let you walk around and take pictures and there are light up cups and fun kids cups and other kids accessories. It's been years and years since I stepped foot into a rainforest cafe but it was a great choice since they are open fairly late when all the buffets in town have already closed down. Service was great and the environment was fun. Food was pretty good but a bit pricier than I remember for just a burger. Went to the Rainforest Cafe with a birthday group. The food was exceptional. I bought a guacamole burger, it came out cooked to perfection and was absolutely a monster to get through. But the service... Absolute chaos that our waiter had to go through. I commend him for his tenacity, because the layout of that restaurant does not work with large groups. read more

Trump is gone and the fish tanks are gone, but the food has definitely changed for the better in taste and portion size, and that is way more important. There was a wait but I didn't mind as that just provided a shopping opportunity. I had the Blue Mountain chicken sandwich. It was really tasty with fresh ingredients and really good herbed ciabatta bread (also new). It is still a bit pricey but 1)it's supposed to be bec of its location and theme 2)the side is included now. I was stuffed and satisfied. The others at the table also thought that their dinners were very good (assorted sandwiches). The service was also above par. They still have the thunderstorms and animals occasionally in action as well as the frog that walks around taking pic with guests (still haven't bought one of those things). I hate leaving bad reviews but food poisoning will do that to you. Planned to have a spur of the moment night in AC and it was ruined right away. Husband and another couple ate there and within 5 min I was unbelievably sick. 20 min later my husband was the same. 2 hour drive home was spent in misery. Our friends meal came out 20 min before the rest of ours. The Manger was super nice and said he would have a new one come out and comped her meal for the inconvenience. The waitress told us that it was her first weekend to work. It was apparent as she forgot to deliver a beer and charged for two. I have always loved rainforest cafe from the time my mom took me for my mmmm 13th birthday I think it was? Just the restaurant itself, and I'm a huge animal lover so right off the bat I give any of them five stars. My first time going was to the one in the source mall in westbury LI that isn't there anymore sadly. And since then I've been to the Las Vegas one, Japan, Edison and now this one maybe 3 times. My fellow diners liked their burgers my hickory chicken was two small chicken breast patties with barbecue sauce and some cheese melted over it, not a lot and not overly good. Bill was off and I had to have the manager correct, he did and was very nice /professional. We took our 13 year old son to Atlantic City on Thursday and he wanted to eat at Rain Forest. We have been there before and always loved it. I had weight loss surgery 7 months ago and wanted to order something off the kids menu and was told I COULD NOT! HOUSE RULES. I showed them my ID Card from Freehold Hospital that says I had Weight Loss Surgery and please allow the named holder to order a smaller portion. Well we were so upset! We had a party of 8 and the bill was 165.00 dollars. I will say we will never be back. I have contacted News12 and i'm just waiting for a return email or phone call. This is pure discrimination. Avoid this place if you have less than three hours to wait for your food. 15 minutes wait for a table was over an hour. Took 30 minutes to get a drink at the bar. The restaurant was only 1/4 full. I was really disappointed with the long long wait. It took hours to be seated and then another hour to get our food. The manager apologized for forgetting us and gave us desert, but it still ruined the experience. My 3-year-old fell asleep before the food ever came at 10pm at night. The food was good. The drinks were good. The service was okay. The animals were dated but fun to my 3-year old (before he fell asleep). My advice is to call ahead and make a reservation. Volcano!!!!! The atmosphere is amazing, the volcano dessert is phenomenal, and the staff is excellent. Always friendly and the orders come out hot and fast. We were here for a family dinner, 12 people with a reservation for 9pm seated at 9:45. Our waitress Christy was great. Food was just OK. The salads were fantastic though. Even a side salad was large enough for a meal. Atmosphere was dark and the rapid fire lights had some family members who are seizure prone upset. It was unexpected and just overkill. So disappointing. Went there on a Sunday night, expecting a wait, waited about 30 minutes, only to stand waiting another 20 minutes to actually be taken to our table. With 3 small children, we ordered quickly then waited 50 minutes for our food. We were completely forgotten about by our server after he took our order. After 45 mins he finally noticed the annoyance on our faces then apologized and said its not his fault he just puts the order in. Pitiful management :( We went on a Friday when the restaurant was supposed to close at 11, remember this for later. We arrived at 8:30 p.m. and the hostess asked if we had a reservation; we did not. She said it would be an hour and a half wait, though the restaurant was empty. She offered to seat us at the bar instead but we were only there for the rainforest vibe of the main dining room so we decided to wait and walk around. My friend gave her name for the waitlist and watched as the hostess scrolled through a list of times down to the 10 pm option on her iPad(???) and set that as our reservation time. Fast forward to 9:45 we come back a little early to see if our table might be ready yet and we're told that the kitchen is closed! :') Over an hour before closing time. Why were we told our table would be ready at 10????? So just out of curiosity, I hang around in the gift shop to listen to the hostess interacting with the next family - she asked them if they had a reservation, with no mention of the kitchen being closed. Price is expected to be high at a chain like this so you can't really be negative for that aspect. Service was always good when I've been, food was also consistent quality. This place is trifling!!! First of all it's hot and sticky as hell in there. We went for dinner with a reservation at 730. There was nobody to be meet us at the hostess's stand we waited for 10 minutes, mind you the restaurant was EMPTY. Food is overpriced, not many choices, and under seasoned. Salt and pepper barely helped. The waiter completely forgot about us since he had a large party on the other side of the restaurant(which is not my problem) When I went to find him after 10 minutes of waiting for honey mustard. I'm standing at the kitchen door and he barged out saying "what's the problem now!" Mind you we didn't express any issues at all. But okay smartass. You would think this being in AC it would be one of the more interactive versions. Nope. First of all we were sat by the door, even though we walked in with an obviously curious 2 year old. People after us were all sat by the front or by something cool to look at. The menu was small and the food was mediocre at best. The chicken chimi cha chas were actually pretty good but nothing else was even slightly impressive. The souvenir cups that come with the drinks weren't sold in the gift shop and I didn't want to buy a soda for a kid who wouldn't be drinking it. All in all not worth the hassle. I went here for lunch on 6/8/18 and was impressed. Our server, Johnny, gave a tour of the restaurant being that it was our first visit. He was fun, attentive throughout our meal, and exemplified what excellent service should be. The food was delicious and the decor was entertaining for "big kids" like us! This place only gets one star because the service was not terrible and the environment was good. We were sat right away. Our server welcomed us. We ordered appetizers and drinks. Good cam out pretty quickly. Then the entrees. I ordered a Cobb salad with no bacon and chicken on the side. What I got? Cobb salad bacon on it, with some sort of sliced chicken meat on top. I asked the server was this turkey? She said it was shaved chicken. NEVER have I heard of shaved chicken breast. I have spent nearly 20 yrs in a chicken restaurant and NEVER have had shaved chicken breast. If you are a vegetarian don't bother. ONE choice for my wife. Step it up Lawrys.
