You know, this place could have gotten at least a four if not for the POOR service we received. My brother and I walked the boardwalk to talk and see the other locations while my dad blew gift money we gave him. Thankfully between my brother and I, we won almost $400 while spending only $5...Me the hater of gambling spent a $1 to win $100 and my brother won $280 after spending. $2...I forced him to walk away...Which is what I should have done when I went to Breadsticks. So after our walk we go up to get a light, late lunch since dinner was coming up at East Wind downstairs. We are seated and it took forever to order drinks from our server...So now my clock is ticking and it rarely does since I was a server many moons ago in HS and college. I have yet to show the dark side. Drinks come slowly and then we order...We order seafood chowder and an appetizer platter. The wait for the chowder is nuts and then I nurse it so we can eat it with the appetizer platter...The chowder is tasty and actually one of the better ones I have had. Then we continue to nurse the chowder and My brother sees me stewing. I grab a server and ask her to get my server...He never shows. Then when we finally finish the chowder in about 20 minutes, the platter has still not arrived. I ask again for this female server to get my server and he still does not show. This server after 30+ minutes after receiving our chowder and finishing it finally shows up with the platter. I state we ordered this well over 30 minutes ago. I do not want it. My brother seeing my really dark side come out since I stood up urges me it is ok. You know what the server said to me...It takes 30 minutes to cook the wings. I respond it is an appetizer. I ate a soup for 20 minutes and you never checked in. Then asks me if I was going to take the food. I said yeah I will take the food...He stands there...I look at him and state I can't carry the food in my hands and to get a container to go. Now my brother was smart and asked for the bill because I was not going to leave a tip and I was already furious From sitting down to getting and finishing the chowder to finally getting the appetizer platter took almost an hour...I am a bad ass tipper because I was there in my life. This guy just needed to touch base and state, "sorry this is taking longer than normal". Instead I asked someone else to grab him twice and he never showed up until the platter came out. This guy was the worst server ever and does this restaurant no service by retaining him. It was just bad service all around and it was not even busy with just a handful of customers. Seating and ambiance were nice but this is a place to avoid as I saw the same thing pan out on other tables. Avoid at all costs and go elsewhere. I can see why this place was empty. To the server, this is your job. Do it with excellence. An hour to get appetizers is not acceptable without touching base at the table. Think about that. Yelp needs to do negative ratings because this would have been -100 stars for the absolute worst service I have ever received. read more

We came here for breakfast last weekend with a large crew. The staff accommodated us quickly for a table of 10. Service was great and fast! I ordered the lox and bagel plate. My husband wasn't a fan of the food at all and it was extremely overpriced. My egg sandwich was fine and I ended up eating his meal because he didn't like it. Once seated they start u off w some breadsticks & butter not bad , I had some OJ & hubby had coffee both good. Main dish I had a Caesar salad w grilled chicken salad was very good, nice size good dressing & decent amount of chicken. Hubby had the soup & sandwich combo, soup was a seafood chowder he didn't like it said it didn't taste good , the half sandwich was a Turkey club w chips , good sandwich & chips. Our meal was exactly what we needed. Good food at an inexpensive price. We started with coffee and water to rehydrate from the night before. Also a cocktail to level out the morning. Teehee My pancakes and eggs were perfectly prepared, both were light and fluffy. His steak and eggs cut easily with his butter knife since he didn't see the steak knife on the table. Overall it was a great experience until it came time to pay. We sat there an extra 15 minutes easily waiting for our server to bring the check and a take out box. Thus the reason for 4/5 stars. My Mom and Aunt raved about the Salmon with mashed potatoes and spinach. Burgers were great too. Grilled sandwiches were tasty but a little too greasy. There are a lot of options to choose from the menu. I opted for the 3 course meal for $17.99 which is a steal! I was very disappointed with the entree and dessert though. I ordered the blackened shrimp with pasta alfredo. The alfredo was clunky and thick, which made it hard to enjoy. The bread pudding for the dessert option was way too eggy. It tasted like baked eggs pretty much -- not appetizing. My friend ordered the meatloaf dinner, which had a strong soy sauce flavor, which was sort of unappetizing. The saving grace was the service. For the price and the time we showed up, the service was great and the food definitely tasted great. We came at a time where we could order breakfast and lunch, which was a great plus as well. When we ordered our food, we didn't have to wait too long for our food, and I ended up ordering the breakfast sampler with eggs, bacon, potatoes, and pancakes. Everything was cooked very well and the meal was filling, so definitely got my money's worth although the prices are a bit higher than average. The overall atmosphere was very old fashioned, but I thought it was a little dull and could probably use improvements. Overall, the experience was good (this spot is probably closer to a 3.5 rather than 4 stars) , the waiter did make a mistake when splitting checks and the prices were decent, but overall I'd come back and eat here again. read more

The service staff who took our drink order was extremely friendly, our server not so much. When he finally came over, we gave him our order. The wait was a little long for breakfast but ok. Came here for dinner with some friends. I realized I should have checked the reviews before we decided to each there since everything they said was true. Service first of all is awful. It took forever to order and we almost left. I got the fish and chips which came with two strips of fried fish...it was okay/didn't taste like anything. My friend got the fried shrimp with fries. The shrimp were butterflied and deep fried to the point they were inedible :( she kind of ate around the super fried pieces. The fries were okay atleast. Before our entree they brought these bread sticks there were barely warm with some butter. Not that good either. Meh it looks nice when you walk in but the food is very lackluster. I've been gambling at Resorts forever and NEVER ventured into this place because there truly was not type of appeal looking from the outside in. The only reason I wandered in today was because of a food offer I received and I said why the hell not. There menu was more expansive than I imagined and they had a 3 course meal for $17.99 so I was SOLD! I went with the side salad and the seared cod with sweet potato mash and crispy Brussels sprouts. OMG those sprouts were THE BEST I've had! WHO KNEW Breadsticks would have these green little gems perfected like this!? Now the cod on the other hand was over cooked, yet still edible.
