Some of the worst pizza I've had in my life. I lived in NY for 9 years, so I'll admit if you're into NYC dough, it's pretty good. But the toppings and overall flavor were terrible. Got the pepperoni, which was too salty, and the chicken bacon ranch, which tasted exactly like what I'd imagine a steamed clam pizza would taste like...and also too salty. And I paid $36 for two larges that insulted my tastebuds. Never again. read more

Three strikes and you're out. Three visits, three bad experiences. 1. Doughy pizza it was not good. It was more like bread than pizza. 2. They made one of our pizzas wrong for our order. We didn't know this until we got home. When I called to let them know so they could remake it. They said they wouldn't do that. I told them we wouldn't eat the toppings they put on the pizza and they needed to remake it the way I ordered it. He finally said he could do it, but I'd have to bring the pizza back. I said no problem. He told me he wouldn't remake the pizza until I returned the other pizza. I told him I wasn't going to wait 20 minutes once I got back there for him to remake the pizza the correct way. I asked him to remake it now so it would be ready to pick up when I got there. He didn't want to agree to that, but finally said he could "probably" do that. He traded me the old pizza for the new pizza when I got there. I didn't think places that served food could accept food back in their kitchen once a customer has taken possession of it. I guess that is not the case at this establishment. 3. Ordered burgers, fries and fish and chips, since we hadn't had luck with pizza. These were the worst, most fatty pieces of fish we had ever tasted. No one would take more than one bite. We ended up throwing it away. We also ordered cheese bread as an appetizer. They didn't put the cheese bread in with our order. I called and got a similar response to my last call to this company. They said they would remake the item. I told them we already finished our food so we didn't want an appetizer after the meal. I told them I wanted a refund. They agreed to do that. I drove back to the establishment and when I arrived, they asked if I'd like to order and I told them I had called about getting a refund on the item they didn't include in my bag. The guy said something under his breath, went to the till, got my money out and basically threw it in my hand. No apology or anything. Just threw the money in my hand and turned around. I couldn't believe the disrespect. I'm not sure why this place has more than one star. Their food is sub par and their service is even lower. We tried three times and had three bad experiences. I live in Rainier and having the Pizza place in town is very handy. The pizza is good but nothing to write home about and you can defiantly tell when they are close to the end of the day because the toppings and the quality of the pizza go way down. Watch out for the little red hair woman, she is quite a jerk and her rudeness on the phone when trying to place orders and when you stop in has pretty much chased me away from this place. The way I see it you can either make great pizza and have just OK customer service or you can have great customer service and an OK pizza but you can't have a just OK pizza and just OK customer service. There is an Awesome pizza place in Yelm about 8 miles east that is really good and everyone there is really nice. I think the only time I will buy from Rainier Pizza and Espresso from now on is if the other place is closed and I really want pizza. read more

So I keep seeing "friendly" service and I would like to know what day and time I should show up to receive that and not having to deal with a complete (I can't even find an appropriate word to describe her but I'm certain you know the word I'm thinking). My fiancé and I decided to try this place for the first time. I did a call in order and the lady on the phone was beyond rude. Condescending and just rude. I didn't want goop on my cheeseburger and she gave me a very snarky "oh my god" in reply. She cut me off talking twice and put me on hold because she was cooking stuff and didn't want it burning and I was completely fine with that and was still super polite to her! I didn't even finish completing my order because once it got past like three items, I guess her hand got tired of writing or something and she got super annoyed with a "big" order. I have me, my fiancé and three kids. My order is gonna be more than three items. I'm all for supporting a local business but goodness, it's sad when I get better customer service calling a McDonald's. I would like to add that I had my order written down so I feel like I wasn't being complicated with my order. The only thing That was maybe a little complicated for her I guess was the fact I originally wanted a club sandwich and I asked what kind of bread it was served on and she had said "sourdough". I had asked if white bread was a option and she said "sourdough". In my head i was like you could of just said "no, just sourdough" or something along those lines. I didn't know if maybe there was options. Literally my first time eating there and I had let her know prior to ordering it was my first time there so I would have a couple questions which were if there was a kids combo and then the bread question. Now, if you don't care about the customer service aspect of it, and just the food, my fiancé and kids really liked what they got. The philly, nuggets and fries. Me, I got a deluxe cheeseburger, and well she got mad when I said no goop so I wasn't even gonna upset her more by adding things or taking other things off of my burger so I unfortunately did not get to enjoy my burger. Now on the other hand, I was WAY to heated to go pick up the order myself because I swear I would of gave her an earful. He said when he got there, the lady that handed him our order was nice. He asked if she was the one that had taken that order over the phone and she replied no. He proceeded to tell her what had happened and she was very sorry for the behavior of her co worker and was going to mention it to the manager. So this is an honest review. Customer service for me sucked. My fiancé was fortunate to have someone nice. Him and my kids enjoyed their food. I did not. So I guess you just have to take your chance with this place. I personally know of another nearby small business with MUCH better food and customer service that I will go out of my way for. And no, I'm not a picky person and I am super polite to people in general but someone this rude and to make me feel like this over a call in order, I completely feel I have the right to be as upset as I am! I am willing to give it ONE more try down the road MAYBE to see if I have the same experience I had today over the phone. If I do, obviously it wasn't dealt with, if I don't, I MIGHT up there stars if whoever I deal with is better. But my review isn't the first one that has a complain about a worker being rude. Especially with a big order. So to all of you who have had nothing but positive experiences, I'm super glad and maybe the lady I had was having a bad day or something or hopefully she gets a lesson on customer service! Not much to look at from the outside, right? But please, don't let the looks dissuade you from patronizing this little hometown gem! The espresso drinks come from fresh roasted coffee! The pizza is somehow fluffy and crispy! The burgers are to die for! They can be a little inconsistent with their Philly cheesesteak, but even that is still tasty! We don't have a lot to choose from in this little town, but overall the consistency in the quality of the food and friendly service is always appreciated! read more

This sweet place is just about the best down home comfort food in the area.! The sandwiches and pizza are great , menu has something for every taste and the coffee/expresso WOW!!! Our family has an age group that range from 2 to 70 and they have something delishous for us all. They are friendly, and now the weather's getting nice so we'll be eating on their patio. This little drive thru has a huge menu. I have had pizza to deep fried cod. Everything is always super. Prices are good. Service is fast. You can walk in also. There is a bar that seats 4 people. Other than that it is standing room only. My favorite is the biscuits and gravy. Rainier is very lucky to have such a great place to eat on the go. read more

This is a small, tucked away hidden treasure in south Puget sound. Look for the restaurant behind some old gas pumps. Lots of parking, a small breakfast nook inside, and when warm, great seating outside. The outdoor seating is right next to the Chehalis walking trail--so this place is popular for bicyclists and joggers on weekends. I have eaten here over a dozen times (I live in the area). The breakfast burrito is delicious and big! My wife and I split it and are still full. We get it with both bacon and sausage. It can take a bit to make; we always call in ahead. In the summer and on weekends they can be busy; the kitchen is small, so be a little patient. For lunch or dinner, their hamburgers and fries are perfect. I think their buns are homemade. My wife loves their fish and chips. We travel a lot to the coast and these fish and chips are as good as any. They also have hemp milk for their lattes, so my wife has this as her favorite coffee spot. The owners are local, they care about quality and are a big part of the community. The staff are mostly friendly, sometimes they can be a little less than helpful--I think that is because a) they are busy, or b) I am not the most friendly guy in the world :). I have not tried their pizza because I always go for the burgers. In summary, if you are a couple, want to go for a nice walk, or drive out to Rainier when it is warm, come here for breakfast or lunch. Called in a order for one of their specials, a pizza. The woman that took the order said it'd be ready in 15 minutes. Got there 20 minutes later and it was not finished. I was told by the person working the counter it will be up in "like 2 minutes". Went and waited in my vehicle. Came back in 15 minutes later to ask about my pizza I had purchased but not received...all staff behind the counter bumbled around, couldn't answer my question about why it's taking 45+ minutes for something I'd be told it would take 15 minutes. They said it would be finished in 10 minutes coupled with a lot of apologies. During that time I saw about 7 customers come and go, with their orders, given to them within their promised time. So fast forward 10 minutes later, went to check on the pizza.....still not done. I asked for a refund and was given such negative attitude because of that. Don't be patient and give this company or it's employees the benefit of the doubt for any more than an hour of your time. After the refund was complete and I explained I just wanted a pizza that I purchased and that service/food wasn't provided so a refund is warranted and I'll take my business elsewhere, I was subjected to more negative attitude. I was told by the woman who took my order to "I hope you go hungry, now you'll have to wait even longer to eat, thanks for being the best part of rainier pizza and espresso". All spoken with a sarcastic tone. If you're passing through Rainier I suggest to keep going to Yelm or Tenino for food. OR even the Chevron just a block away has better a variety of food, customer service, and overall non-bitter employees. read more

Food is always amazing, but call ahead since food that is made to order takes a little longer. This place is seriously the gem of all espresso places and best "fast" food in Thurston county. They even help coffee noobs. When I first moved here, I only knew that I wasn't the biggest fan of that bitter coffee taste. The owner is a wonderful barista that whipped me up a white chocolate caramel granita and this place is now the only place that I go to actually expecting good coffee. I was riding through during the Group Health Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic and decided to stop by this place for lunch. However I ended up waiting around for 5 minutes making eye contact with employees but did not receive service. I decided to leave and try the grocery across the parking lot but they didn't have a large selection maybe because of other riders but I ended up going back to the Pizza & Espresso to see if I could get service. When I went back the second time I still could not get service so I decided to leave and rode to Tenino for food. I'm not sure if there weren't serving STP riders? or what but they didn't appear to be very busy when I was there. Next year I will be avoiding this shop. read more

Used to love going to this place a lot. Honestly there customer service is okay. Some people are better then others. The coffee is always made differently and it just depends on who's making it.. which they should all make it one way and put a extra shot when you ask for one and pay for it, Iv also drove off taking a drink of my coffee to realize they didn't put any coffee in it, just flavor and milk.. but was in a hurry and didn't have time to turn around. Very fusterating. The prices always vary and are never consistent depending on the worker.. And lastly this past weekend I finally made it out the house with my two kids and ordered a breakfast sandwich it was maybe around 1:30-2.. 30min-1 hour later my husband calls in the same order and all of a sudden they tell him they stopped serving breakfast at that time. Which we have always loved the sandwiches and would eat them for lunch. Monday my husband calls in around 1 and they tell him they arnt serving breakfast anymore (not sure what time they stopped now apparently) What a bummer and a new thing. We have spent soo much money here throughout the years and always tip very good.. Nobody wants to call a business and feel like a bother cause they talk to you like your just bugging them or annoying them. Three stars because this place has been there for so long and I've gone there my whole life and was always a good experience till recently.. hope something changes. I have been to this place many times. The second to last time I politely complained because I paid for a pizza that was missing the center part of the pizza! The entire center part was gone. The guy who works there was gracious enought to credit me one chicken wing to add to my order for my ruined pizza. I am not kidding. What a generous guy. This last time I got my order home to share with my family and there was something that looked like a loogey i.e. spit on the dressing container in the buffalo wings. I inspected this substance very, very carefully because I could not believe that someone would spit in my food. It appeared to be spit to me. I would not post this if I wasn't highly upset by it. It was slimy, light green, and dangling from the container cup. We were all starving when we sat down to eat but promptly threw the entire order of food in the garbage. I am not sure who I pissed off. I am always polite even when they screwed up the pizza at time before!...heck I came back and gave them my business. Gross. Will never be back. read more

Great Burgers, they bake the buns fresh daily. Very good pizza, excellent breakfast burritos, salads, other sandwiches. They also sell Main Street Cookies, a special treat in themselves. Very good coffee and espresso, latte, etc., and they roast their own beans. The owners are great people and very friendly. The prices are right and the service very good. Drive up or park and go in or sit outside. They are located right next to the Yelm to Tenino Trail which connects to the Chehalis-Western Trail, so walk or bike as well. read more

I have never in my life been to a business that gets annoyed with service. My sister and I and three kids went to have lunch through the drive thru. It was a big order so we wrote it down to make it easier. They were very snotty and rude about the large order and the order ended up being wrong when we mentioned the one wrong item and having it fixed they were very rude about it and made the coffee again very quickly and not good. They rolled their eyes were very short and closed the window. We used to love going here and drove out of the way for it and will not be returning. This place is SUPER friendly to cyclists on the trail. I ride from the shopping center in Lacey, or further north to this place quite frequently. It's a nice 1/2 way point on a 30+ or 50+ mi. ride. I'm never disappointed by their service. The food is always good, they'll happily refill a water bottle, and all with a smile. The baristas always have a pleasant smile. read more
