Inside Mystic Village is a cute pet shop called Raining Cats & Dogs! Albeit a bit on the pricey side, there's a ton of stuff to spoil your furry friend(s) with! The staff here are helpful in you need anything and some staff are friendlier than others. We bought our dog some non-raw hide chews to bring back to her and of course, she was happy with her little gifts. Raining Cats & Dogs is a fun store for anyone who is a lover of furry friends, or you may find a special treat to get for one here. There is everything here, and for every breed. You'll find stickers, keychains, towels, hats and socks, all of it for dog owners, by breed. They have leashes, collars, toys, snacks, special birthday treats and hats. The dog section is much larger then the cat section. There just might be more dog owners in the world. There's even a gift section dedicated to dogs that are no longer with us. Everything is in this store, many things I never knew existed. Any dog (or cat) lover would be thrilled to receive something from this small business. read more

A great store, full of every possible item one might want to buy for one's cat or dog! Unfortunately, my cat did not find the organic cat toy I bought him to be interesting and walked away from it. It has to be very high grade catnip for him to really go crazy for it. But, none the less - wonderful store to spend hours in - with your dog. Not sure if cats are welcome. read more

This place is adorable and worth spending some cash on for any animal lover. They have every kind of gift imaginable as it relates to cats and dogs. They have hats, coasters, mugs, everything. It's the cutest store in Mystic Village. Also you may see more dog stuff then cat when you first walk in but be assured..plenty of cat goodies too..see pics! This place is so cute. I love my pups so much, so anytime I can get them something to spoil them or add any form of Bichon trinkets to my life, I'll take the opportunity. I love small businesses like this. The owners just love what they do. They clearly love animals as much as their crazy customers. And no, "crazy" is not an insult. Pet owners are crazy, it's that simple. We love dorky T-shirt's of our specific breed, pens and hats and yard flags of our fluffy friends. Or tons of treats and chews and toys. Well, maybe it's only me. But I don't care. These kinds of pet stores are always my favorite. Way more genuine than any chain with cheaper, higher quality options. We wandered in on our trip to the Shoppes of Old Mystic and LOVE this place. They had the coolest, most unique items for dog and cat lovers and even for my little whale loving nephew, there was a SUPER COOL book. I highly recommend this store if you have little ones to keep entertained while on vacation. For babies and toddlers, there are adorable finger puppet card board books in the back, little ones from the ages of 3-10 would like all of the plastic toy animals, and the plush stuffed animals of EVERY kind. I highly recommend this and several other shoppes in Old Mystic. read more

Being a cat lover I was excited to come across this shop! However, I would say that it is more geared towards dogs and I left without buying anything. It is a decent sized shop with various home products but only a small portion of a wall on the very right side of the store and a small table up front with some Pusheen items were dedicated to cat-themed products. If you are a dog person I'm sure you can come here and find a couple cute items to buy! read more

If you own a dog then this store is definitely for you. They have anything you could need, and a lot of things you might want for your four legged friend. If you're a cat owner then go right when you enter the store. The cat section isn't small, but if you go left and wander through endless dog items before you get to their cat section the you are likely to be far less impressed. That being said they did have a lot of Kong toys and they had some nice designer collar and leashes that I thought were really cool. Definitely worth a stop in. read more

Well organized specialty pet store located in the Olde Mystic Village. I believe there to be more dog stuff than cat, but all and all it's cute. This is a fun store which offers most things a pet lover could ever imagine. It's not a Petco - it doesn't sell food or pet supplies, per se, but it has home decor, signs, dog clothes, and all sorts of things that a pet lover can spend time looking at. We have brought our dogs inside and they were treated very well - I'm not sure what happened with the reviewer who had a bad experience. A pet store that's PET UNFRIENDLY! After first addressing me carrying in my 5 lb Chorkie, who was in a tote bag, they went on to insult her and tell me she needed "social skills". Really? I didn't know they'd be inviting her to high tea! How rude! Now we make it a point to avoid this store each time we shop in the village because it's clear they are not pet people, but just in the business to make money off of tourists with their overpriced goods and supplies. If you choose to shop here, make sure you don't bring your pet, just your wallet! read more

However they are lacking that friendly quality makes you want to go back customer service, and willingness to help a pet owner get their pet beautiful accessories. If you ever want to know the names of anything they carry, you can't call and ask them nicely, even if you live on the other side of the United States. granted they offered to ship me it, but how can i order something, that i cant even view it, or see colors choices.
