Was excited to see this place open up and try it for the first time in Chicago, and the chicken was tasty but unfortunately the rest was underwhelming. I came after a night shift super hungry, a bit after opening time, and ordered a three piece combo which comes with fries, Texas toast (I subbed that out for coleslaw), and a drink. The chicken came out quick and smelled great, each piece as crispy and juicy, but they were also pretty small. I easily could've had twice as many before I was satisfied. The fries were very standard crinkle cut, but the coleslaw was pretty under seasoned and bland. The Cane's sauce was creamy and tangy and paired well with the fried food, so at least it did life up to the hype. Overall though, for almost $11 ($12 after tax) for a couple small tenders and some forgettable sides, you could do much better around Chicago. read more

To think I would try Raising Cane's for the first time in Chicago rather than in my home state of California! About a 20 minute walk from my hotel. I had some high expectations since my friends from the Bay Area rave about this place. It wasn't busy at all; the moment I walked in the employees behind the counter greeted me with lots of energy in their "awesome sauce" customer greeting. I ordered their 3 chicken finger combo and waited about 5 minutes until my order was ready. Great interior with bright lights and a worker was sanitizing the seats diligently during my dining experience. The fries were great, the bread reminded me of Hawaiian bread, and the chicken was definitely delicious. The fry on the chicken was light and crispy, reminded of the crispy skin texture from Jollibee. Their sauce tasted like thousand island dressing with another ingredient added. Glad I was finally able to try this spot. The place is a zoo! People going in every direction. You have no idea who is in what line, who was eating or waiting for food at the tables near the register. There is a kiosk line that spills over to the waiting for pick up mob. Food was mediocre. Chicken Finger Plate, thought it was a good quality, but slightly undercooked. Lacked any crispness. Didn't care for their dipping sauce too much either. The ketchup and napkins are next to soda machines. That was a challenge to access do to the large group of teens surrounding area. I know, a VERY successful chain with a terrific business model! Wouldn't have been that busy unless they were doing something right. Sadly this is the worst Cane's I've been too. Piles of trash/trays piled up like 5 trays high on top of the completely full trash cans and many fountain drinks out of order as well. But really it was mostly a shame b/c the food was off too. If you look at my checkins you can see I've been to various Cane's in over six different states and probably over 50 visits and this was definitely the weakest location. The food was overcooked for both the fries and fingers. The toast was fine, but the fingers were overdone so not the typically juicy insides and the fries too were over done and overly crispy. I don't typically mind more crisp fries but several in my batch were way too crisp and crunchy. Seems like this part of Chicago has the worst of many great chains. The worst Shake Shack I've had was also nearby. Guess I should probably not get fast food but oh well... read more

Brand new sparkling restaurant to replace the Panera that was extinguished by the pandemic. The decor is definitely an improvement: the Panera was getting pretty worn out, this is a total re-gut redesign with a lot of sparkling fresh posters, disco balls and plenty of room to sit. The window views of Michigan and Madison are well framed and you can watch the city activity outside and they keep it clean. The service was great and screaming (literally) with friendliness, they really tried to get the line moving fast and get people through. The only major flaw is the flow after you order: it's not quite clear that you are able to sit down and they will call out your name (which they do over a too-amplified speaker that cuts the music and spoils the musical ambience) so you stand there waiting in a space that isn't designed well for waiting. The condiments and napkins are squeezed into a too small space where only one person can work at a time, and this is an impediment for the volume of people: the ketchup fountain is very slow and right in the middle of napkins and lids etc, so you block everything trying to get some ketchup). The food was great tasting: the chicken sandwich is basically chicken fingers between a bun, the fries were perhaps a little too salty but they were fresh and good. If only this stuff was less calories: the least calorie meal on the menu is still well over half your caloric intake of the day, there are no real "healthy" options: you come here for the heavy comfort food. read more

Two stars for the food only; which was good. Prior to ordering, I asked for the bathroom code, so that my daughter could wash her hands before ordering. They refused, and said we could only get it after we paid for food. Right then, I decided I would never go back there. Staff was on the rude side. I have tried Raisin Cain in other locations and it has been wonderful. I tried catering from the new Chicago Loop location but their system would not accept my card. They wanted me to come in and pay or do a mobile app but I was unable to go in and not comfortable with that. The person who took my order was excellent! The problem is that if there is an issue with their system, there is no way to figure it out. I asked questions on the next step and not use the mobile app, the call was disconnected and they did not try to call back. I did not hang up, but was hung up on. First let me say Raising Cane's is my number fast food chain. I only break my diet for this restaurant. Lol I was let down BIG TIME at the new location on Michigan Ave. First, it was just chaos from ordering to waiting for food. You didn't know who had ordered or who was waiting. The tables in front of the register didn't make things any better (Not smart). I didn't let this bother me because I was excited to finally have one by my job. After ordering, I got my lemonade first, waiting on my order to add my sweet tea because I always get an Arnold Palmer with my order. I ordered at 1316 and received my order by 1330. Kudos to them getting the orders up so fast, especially with the amount of people in there. Afterwards I added my sweet tea to my cup and I was on my way back to work. As I was walking, I took one sip and gagged. The tea I added was not sweetened but had the sweet tea label on there. So I threw it out. I'm still trying to be hopeful. I rushed back to work to devour my food. I sat down and went in. THE bread was delicious. The sauce amazing per usual. The fingers were so small...I mean tiny..if I put them together I would've had 2 instead of the 4 I paid for . Lastly the fries were horrible. They tasted like pure grease!
