Had lunch there recently after a morning tour of the 103rd floor of the Willis building. There's a huge food court in the lobby entrance of this building off the Jackson St entrance. A kiosk was available to order from when we arrived though I wish we could order directly from an associate. We ordered a small lemonade, 2 regular size fries, 1 shack burger on a lettuce wrap and a plain single cheeseburger (no bun as well) on a lettuce wrap. I wish there was an option for no lettuce wrap - just burger patty and cheese..for a picky kiddo. When I received the text message that said our order was ready I headed to the counter but it wasn't ready. The associate had attitude when I said I'm here to grab my order. It probably took another minute or two for my food to be ready. Not sure why they ask for a tip via the kiosk if I'm taking my own order and also waiting and grabbing my own order. Otherwise the food tasted great but it's an expensive option for fast casual burgers. Lots of places to sit if not in the restaurant but the entire lobby is made up of tables. It's a shake shack. Those burgers are juicy, the fries are crispy, the coke is poppy, the bacon cheese fries has a delectable queso. If you're eating here, I think you know what to expect. This particular location doesn't make much sense to go to unless you work in the Loop or you're visiting Sears Tower on vacation with the fam. There's a food court where you can eat at the base of the tower and this location is open a bit later than the other places, which is very convenient. Side note: Moral comparison of Shake Shack vs In-N-Out. While these two chains are compared, they should not be. The shack is clearly higher in quality, but also higher in price and has 0 points for nostalgia. They only have similar burger sauces. Nice lunch option to have available at the Willis Tower. They are known for their burgers, shakes and cheese (fries) made from real beef and milk from real cows, not the fake ones. A little on the pricey side though, if you ask me. A simple cheeseburger, fries, and a drink will average you about $20+. You can definitely taste the quality in the burgers. The ends are nice and slightly burnt and the middle of the burger nice and juicy. Their shakes are creamy and filling and they have different flavors available like chocolate & strawberry with some seasonal ones too. I do like their cheese fries but the taste of the cheese is a little different- I guess it's that real cheese they use and I'm used to the "fake and processed" stuff. This location gets pretty busy during the lunch rush hour on weekdays, so order online and pick up when possible. They also have kiosks available at this location as well but be prepared to wait 10 - 15 min during this rush. Place is big enough if you want to dine in. 5 stars awarded for one reason: they were open when we got down from the observation deck on 9/11/2025. Every other place was closed, and we were super hungry. Other than that - I'm completely mystified as to what the Shake Shack buzz is about. I will say that they put a healthy (irony!) amount of bacon on my bacon cheeseburger. So, full credit for that, but there are other chains that make a much better bacon cheeseburger - Whataburger and 5 Guys, by a mile. read more

I like this location, very convenient to hop in for a quick takeout order. For everyone complaining about prices, which are definitely high, download the shake shack app. They often have deals like bogo where you can save a ton of money. Once things are half price, it's way more worth it lol. The burgers are always tasty and the quality is there for sure. The only reason I took a star off is the service! Well I decided to go to the Willis Tower to see and try this shake shack burger,. It is a franchise I see a lot and kind of made it into a bucket list of curiosity. It was just a meh ok. I say this because I compare this to the taste of a Culver's butterburger it almost tastes the same and even the size is the same. To me it was a copy check of a Culver's Burger franchise the burgers taste just like that and it's not bad but at the same time I could have just gone to Culver's. Another thing I did not like was the service because if you go to a live person they only accept cash and the kiosk I have a blood donation card and it's not a tap or a chip you have to swipe like the old school credit cards and they don't offer that and if you go to the service person he only accepts cash.ambience as usual is pretty hip or especially since it's at the Willis Tower so it's very touristy it's just a bit overpriced for my taste it's not a bad Burger but it's not some place I would go because the taste of their shake shack Burger is almost exactly the same as a culver's burger and it's less expensive buying a Culver's Burger. I spent almost $25 and to me the Burger to how much I paid for is something I can get more elsewhere especially from Culver's and even Culver's I don't like going there because I don't feel unsatisfied in regards to quality and quantity. I came by for a quick meal on my way to Union Station. I just got a burger which was pretty solid. I will say, Shake Shack felt like a premium price for a less than premium product and it took a while to get the burger, but it was still pretty solid. I enjoy Shake Shack and they have one of the best chain fast food burgers around but for this location (Willis Tower), I am challenged with a few things: 1) No cashiers on hand. While I get that kiosks are there, they take 3x as long to order from. At least have one or two cashiers on hand. 2) Pace of getting orders out. They only have one speed no matter the line. It's not slow but it's certainly no where near fast. I only have so long for lunch. I just tried Shake Shack for the very first time today - the food was actually very good. I had the smoke burger with a side of spicy fries and a large Coke Zero. The smoke burger was actually very good, it was super fresh and very tasty, I was very surprised. The spicy fries also had a nice kick to them, I enjoyed dipping them in ranch. The cons: it took way too long to get a simple burger and fry when it wasn't even busy in the restaurant- it was 11 AM (not noon), and it took almost 15 minutes for the ton of employees to get the order ready. A burger, fries and drink also cost me $20 - which I think is pretty ridiculous for fast food, and they don't have a self serve coke machine - they fill it once for you behind their counter. Overall, I'd say the food is very good, the service and pricing is not very good. I'd go every once in a while, but you can get a better value for your money elsewhere. read more

At my visit to this Shake Shack, I got the dragonfruit pomegranate lemonade, bacon cheese fries, and the double shackburger. I was hungry but everything was good - the lemonade drink was perfectly refreshing but not overly sweet. My friend also the Korean fries of some kind and I actually loved those even more than my bacon cheese fries. The burger was good and just overall a solid meal for the neighborhood. It's incredibly convenient to have one of the most addictive places to get burgers, fries, and shakes readily available in the Willis Tower. The burgers here are probably the standout with nice crispy edges on the patty, fresh vegetables between the layers, and a nice compressed but still fluffy bun to hold everything together. The fries are a little oily, but crispy and delicious with a nice strong potato flavor. The shakes are a meal by themselves, with a nice creamy texture and packed with tons of flavor. The prices are also fairly reasonable, in line with what you pay at higher end burger spots though the portions are a little smaller (but in line with pricing in this area of the loop). read more
