I went for the tenders since the family prefers those. Chicken was tasty, but not as crispy as I was expecting. Still a good crust and juicy chicken. Honey biscuits were good. They warned me that the blueberry biscuits were hard, so will have to try those next time. There's a parking lot nearby which helps because parking is challenging. I kept driving past this place and had it on my "to try" list for a long time before checking it out. Then we actually ate from here three times before I decided to post my review. The first time we ate here, we tried their wings. I loved that they had buffalo for hubby and sweet and sour (Asian inspired) for me. We arrived around 3p and surprised when they fried our wings fresh for us. A line started right after she started our order, but since it was only one person working, everyone seemed pretty patient. Still, we felt that the alternative, KFC nearby, had the same service, but at least here we were supporting small business, and better food! The sides were fine- red beans and rice a little overcooked, potato wedges were fine. But the honey glazed and blueberry biscuits were soooo good!!! Almost like muffins. The second and third times we came, we got the breakfast sandwiches. But the ones we got are not on the Krispy Krunchy Chicken menu. These were Latin inspired. We've had the Jamon, chorizo and lingunisa. Each sandwich comes on a Dutch crunch roll with a slice of queso fresco, lettuce, tomato and pickled jalapeño. It was crispy and it was crunchy. We ordered delivery and we're pleased with the results. The chicken was excellent. Even better the next day. It was our first order so we got a side of everything. The rice and beans was good, the Mac n cheese was also pretty good. The fries were also good. Delivery fries are never great, but pretty good. The only thing we didn't like was the biscuits with honey drizzled over them. A bit of a sticky mess. We would order them again, just no honey on them. Location: it's in a neighborhood setting north of downtown SSF. Quiet. Look for the red "5 Star Food & Liquor" sign on the building. I found curbside parking right on Linden in front of the store and there's a small parking lot to the left of the store. Variety: it's a convenience store with the usual assortment and more. I even got a small pecan pie (from 3 Seas Bakery of Oakland, according to the wrapper) which was much tastier than the usual little pies you'd find at Wal-Mart or a big grocery store. I ordered via DoorDash and the delivery was smooth. However, the restaurant left out items I paid for when putting the order together. I had to contact DoorDash to get refunded for those missing items. Also, the food items (chicken and fish filet) they did deliver were super salty and had no flavor. I finally tried this place. Not impressed. I did a taste-test with the KFC across the street. KFC's chicken was much tastier. Both were tender and juicy inside, but the KKC breading was dry and seemed like it had been sitting a while. The mac and cheese tasted like cleaning fluid. I took one bite and spit it out. The biscuit was good, probably because it had lots of sugar in it. KFC's was still better. (And Popeye's is even better.) I love their crispitos. I always ask them to make fresh for me and they are just perfect. I like their fried chicken because they are very crunchy and you can taste the seasoning not only on the skin but also throughout the meat as well. I like to my fried chicken with plain white rice since the fried chicken can be very salty eating by itself (I have very low tolerance on salt intake). I was really looking forward to liking this place and was disappointed. My boyfriend and I ordered through Uber Eats- we got Buffalo Wings (I think 10 wings?), 1 chicken sandwich, and 1 chicken sandwich combo (I chose potato wedges and Sprite). When the order came to us, our driver forgot our Sprite, but that is not why I have 2 stars for my review. I was hoping for more of Cajun flavor, but all of our chicken was lacking a kick or any hint of seasoning. The chicken was moist and crispy, though not as flavorful as we hoped for. My boyfriend's Buffalo Wings came with no Buffalo sauce on the side or any Buffalo sauce for that matter. The chicken sandwiches had pickles in them and had a great brioche bun, but there wasn't any mayo or any kind of sauce in the sandwich to meld all the ingredients together. They gave us packets of Tapatio and Ketchup, which I used since the sandwich lacked flavor. My boyfriend agreed that the taste could've been better as KFC and Popeyes had more flavor. Overall, the quality of the chicken seemed better than KFC and Popeyes, but the chicken lacked any flavor and the sandwich seemed just slapped together. The chicken really is good but I'm pissed as hell. This is the second time I've gone and dude serving my food takes my sauce from my order after he puts it on the counter like he's giving it to you with your order. I even paid for extra sauce.
