We pull up to the drive thru and are met with a teen saying, "yeah, we have that going on but the people at the window can help you." So, we ordered 1 box combo and 1 box combo free. We get to the window and another "teen" says, "I don't know how to do that." So, she gets the lead or whoever they have. She comes back and says, "yeah, sorry I don't know how to help you with that and I just know you need the card for that." Our response was, "seriously?! The teen back at the order station said you would help us. We waited in line just to be told sorry it's full price for the 2 box combos." Long story short, we left. I've worked in the food industry and the branch manager or store manager needs to do better. You hire teens who are rude, disrespectful, and clueless. I know you're probably just collecting your check but that's poor management. Do better. There's a reason why so many other reviews are similar to this review. I was picking up dinner for a family member, and for myself I had not eaten dinner yet so I decided to order two chicken strips and cole slaw to quickly eat at Canes in Rancho San Diego before I dropped off the food. The order arrived within minutes. When I received all of the food, I noticed that neither myself nor my family member got any Cane's sauce. Why would they not place it in there in case someone liked the sauce? In this case, neither my family member or myself liked the sauce, but it's the principle of the fact we may have liked it and it was not in either of our boxes. I ordered a four-piece chicken strip, two coleslaws, and bread for my family member. And, just two chicken strips and a coke slaw for me. When I opened my box, I noticed I received the smallest chicken strips. Whoever was placing the chicken in the box did not seem to be detailed or mindful if I got the biggest pieces. They did not take the time to place the meatiest chicken pieces in my box. I have no idea why. It was pretty disappointing and annoying. Hopefully, when reading this review, positive improvements can happen. My six-year-old son earned a free kids combo from school for doing well, and he was incredibly excited to redeem it. He walked in proud and happy, expecting to enjoy something he had worked hard for. Unfortunately, the experience was very upsetting. There was a young employee and a woman (likely in her late 20s or 30s), and the woman handled our situation. She told us there was something missing from the paper and refused to honor it. I tried to explain that this is exactly how it was given to him from school, but she was dismissive, rude, and showed no empathy at all. She also gave us the clear impression that we were not being truthful--that we were somehow making this up. She repeatedly insisted that it "should come a certain way" and that there was no other possibility, which felt like she was accusing us of lying. This was directed at my six-year-old son, who was the one speaking and trying to explain where he got it from. What made it worse was her attitude toward a six-year-old child. There was no kindness, no attempt to explain things gently, and no acknowledgment of how excited he was. He went from being proud and happy to completely heartbroken in minutes. My son has been crying for hours since this happened. As a parent, that's incredibly hard to watch--especially over something meant to reward him for doing well in school. I'm not saying they had to accept it if something was missing, but the way this was handled was unacceptable. I even considered just buying the combo for him, but because of the rude attitude, I didn't feel comfortable giving that business my money. Most definitely they were not 'tenderloin' cuts. The breading Cane's uses on the chicken has no discernible seasoning, giving this chicken no flavor whatsoever. Since the fry time was too short, the chicken ended up being soggy and flavorless. The biggest issue with the crinkle cut fries was that they were soggy, not crisp. They were no comparison to In n Out's fresh-cut fries. Indeed, I suspect the fries came from a frozen, cheap-quality bag. To add insult to injury, because the fries were so over-salted with a heavy hand, they were inedible. The cole slaw? Watery and also flavorless. This was my first time at Raising Cane's Chicken and it will be my last. There are too many other better chicken shops in San Diego to give your hard-earned money to, so I would skip this place. Cane's makes a pretty good fried chicken sandwich. I just had one here at the new location in Rancho San Diego. The combo came with the sandwich, crinkle fries, and a drink. The chicken tenders inside the sandwich were very tender and crispy. The tender were well seasoned, too. The sandwich came with some lettuce, Cane's sauce, and a soft bun. Some pickles would have been very good here. I don't even think they offer pickles here. I say, get some, please. The crinkle fries were okay. They were somehow inconsistent. My partner usually doesn't like Cane's, but they ordered the chicken sandwich and they said they really enjoyed it, which is a big Win!! I didn't even know they had a chicken Sandwhich. Wait time was around 8 minutes in the drive thru though, they apologized for the wait, which is what matters to me in terms of service. I was starving so I didn't get to take pics of my food, but we ended up eating our food in the parking lot. Parking seems plentiful. I even went inside and they have very clean one stall bathrooms that need a passcode. The seating area is very spacious and definitely bigger than the Santee location as well! read more

I'm not sure who is keeping Raising Cane's in business, but honestly, all I can say is this chain need to go back to the drawing board at the corporate level and rethink their entire catalog of recipes. This is the most unseasoned, blandly-flavored chicken I've ever tasted. It's especially shocking considering it's breaded and fried. You have to intentionally withhold flavor additives to get this result and I question how this restaurant even made it past the early stages of development and taste testing. Plenty of room outside but that area is kept at all as all of the tables were just messy. Service was average and wait time was a little longer than other places.
