It's a location with a mixture of good and bad services. Some employees here are really nice but I believe some of the employees in this location can not understand basic English!!! They serve hot chicken and fries to-go in a foam box. All I asked is to set a sheet of paper in between the food and the foam box, so I'm not eating melted plastic on my chicken and fries. They will acknowledge your request but out of 5 visits, 3 of which the food still sit directly on the foam, I either have to turn back or totally trash the food. Let me just start by saying I've loved Cane's since the first time I had it a few years ago. But unfortunately it seems like food safety was not a huge priority the other night when I went. I only got a sandwich and within a couple hours of eating that I was vomiting. It was the only thing I'd eaten all day so was very pretty easy to figure out what it was. I was really trying to be easy on this place but I show up, I'm told to wait.... Wait 5-10 mins to be greeted by whistling and screaming (someone clearly didn't know their mic was still on). I pull up to the window for the girl to immediately lean out and say "sorry I'm one person doing this all alone" however there were 4 other people I saw also doing work there. Horrible experience. Picked this up on our way out of town for a special lunch. They did not get our order correct - completely forgot the kids meal and one the the meals had no toast. We didn't realize until we were all the way home. When I called about a refund they said I'd have to come back in for both a refund or to pick up the food they forgot. Until this visit to a Canes the Texas toast has always been dry and stiff but not here it was tender and flavorful. Very fast service and polite employees. This establishment has always been consistent when I visit, today 7/29/23 the food came out at a good temperature not scorching hot but hot enough to eat, you can tell this was properly cooked to 165°F, the fries were good some crispy some soft and you can visibly the salt on them which was very well seasoned. The woman at register who must've been in training was very approachable and very nice and made me laugh and smile some, good service that brightens you're day. This place is always busy so they get a two for keeping up with the massive flow and at least the chicken tastes good. We ordered seven meals and they looked like chicken nuggets instead of actual fingers. They barely put any fries in the boxes and only one of four meals had the variation we wanted for each one. The batter is light and tastes good, but not half as good as other places. The fries are nothing special either. They were soft and taste like any bag of fries you can get from the freezer section. The sauce is unique. You will either like it or not. It tastes like a fry sauce with seasoning dumped in. Staff: the staff is not high caliber. Very quiet at the window. No smiling. You can get individual strips or you can purchase a combo (fries and a beverage), or a combo without a beverage. We ordered the combo without a beverage but if I visit again, I will simply order the strips only. The fries were a throw-away item because they were just mediocre. However, the strips were perfect: hot, fresh and delicious. This place is all about the chicken because as soon as we had placed that order, the chicken was at the window and it was smoking hot. It was lightly breaded, well seasoned and the perfect way to end the night. ***They have their signature sauce (which is fine on the fries), but if you want honey mustard sauce it will cost you 29 cents.
