I stop by this Cane's every now and then when I need to leave campus for lunch and it never disappoints. Near one of the most high traffic intersections in town, they do a brisk business and keep the line moving quickly. There's a guy that works there, I didn't catch his name, but I feel like he's been there a while - he has a genuine smile and a positive attitude that is sorely lacking in people these days. It's a bit contagious and I found myself in a better mood when I left with my 6 finger Caniac meal. I got the big one knowing there would be leftovers for dinner. Been years since the last time I was at this Cane's location but was in the area so stopped in. The chicken fingers were extremely fresh and tasted great as usual. I picked up raising canes at this location last night. Typically, it's pretty good but last night was a huge letdown. I live about six minutes away from the restaurant and opened the boxes to eat almost as soon as we got home. Everything was soggy and sad. The fries were dramatically undercooked and completely limp and the toast barely had been toasted. The chicken was pretty decent though. We ended up ordering two box combos with drinks, so it wasn't exactly cheap. I hope that next time we go here it will be a better experience. Usually Canes is a slam dunk. read more

Decided to go to Cane's for a healthy lunch.  In spirit of keeping this meal healthy, I opted to swap the coleslaw for an additional slice of Texas Toast, cause it is purdy good.  What? bread is on the old Food Pyramid and the new Food Plate, O.K. maybe not this type of bread, but it's still pretty tasty.  Cane's makes nice chicken fingers. My absolute favorite American fast food restaurant! They are known for their famous chicken fingers, mostly white meat, super crispy, tender and moist! Their butter-y toast is so savory and has the perfect texture, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Finally their crinkle cut fries are always fresh and hot! Cane's sauce is a must have to dip all the above in! They have three main options for meals all varying in size and amount. All options really give you your bang for you buck and all options come with a free drink. All under $10!! I've never reviewed a fast food store before. And I've been to this location dozens of times since it opened. But today, they went above and beyond in two ways, and I had to share. First, when I pulled up to the first drive through window to pay, the cashier let me know that due to inflation and rising gas prices, my meal has been up charged to $40. We got a good laugh out of that. Secondly, when I got to the second window, I instinctively said "no" to the "would you like ketchup?" question as they handed me my food. But I double-taked because the guy actually asked "Any ketchup or hot sauce?" I said "Did you say hot sauce??" Ten minutes later, I'm eating my chicken fingers just like I have since high school, but now with Cane's sauce AND Louisiana hot sauce on them. Whoever's idea it was to start stocking hot sauce needs a raise because this is a game changer. Good job Cane's! read more

I decided to try Raising Canes on L St. because the Nextdoor people were happy that it opened. I was looking for something different so I decided to try it. Honestly, I don't know what the fuss is about. Fast food started out as a limited menu, and Canes has that perfected. But what they do offer as sides is very ho hum. Maybe because they want to focus on chicken. More on that in a minute. My order was through the drive-thru and maybe it would have been better if eaten inside. The Texas toast had been toasted, on one side at least, but by the time I got it home, it was pretty soggy, probably due to the styrofoam take away box retaining moisture. The fries were also limp & soggy; I think they were like frozen Ore-Ida fries that I can make better at home. That gave me an idea- see if I could resurrect the bread & fries in the oven at home. Not really what I wanted to do, but I gave it a try. The bread dried out a bit & did improve a little but the fries would have taken longer to crisp up & I was impatient. I shared the meal with my dogs & they had no problem with bread, fries, or chicken. Now to the chicken. It was good, but about the same as Arby's chicken tenders. Lots better than McDonald's and Burger King's offerings. (A couple of years ago I did a taste test on chicken nugget/tenders/strips etc. ) and Arby's won. Cane's was not tested but I bet the testers would have liked them as well as Arby's.)The sauce didn't do much for me; it tasted like mayo with a vinegar substance mixed in. All in all, I would go to Arby's over Canes for chicken tenders because they have better sides- better fries, just as good chicken AND Mac & cheese. The service is friendly enough, but they're very slow and they ALWAYS get our order wrong. They have consistently messed up our order the last three times we came to this location. This was my first visit at this franchise. The ordering was relatively easy at the counter. Once the name was called out, the combo box order consisted of four pieces of chicken breaded chicken, french fries, cole slaw, and a piece of toast. The cole slaw wasn't very tasty at all. Next time, I would ask for a substitution. The chicken was very hot but lacked flavoring. I don't know if this was the purpose behind the dipping sauce. They offer four combination meals, each with a variation of chicken, crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast, coleslaw, cane's sauce, and a drink. Its so simple! You can get extra quantities of any of these components for another price. I like the simplicity of the model, it allows for a very easy decision-making process, and definitely cuts costs on their end in the long run. I chose the 3 Finger Combo, which included 3 chicken fingers, a piece of Texas toast, crinkle-cut fries, one serving of cane's sauce, and a regular drink, which I opted out of. First, the chicken is really good. I am really quite afraid of chicken, its more often dry than not, and when its dry, it tastes like chewy cardboard. This chicken was crispy on the outside and really juicy and moist on the inside. Of course, I consumed this with the signature Cane's sauce, a secret blend of condiments and spices. I am a sauce girl through and through, and this really enhances the experience. Its really peppery and tangy, and tastes pretty good with everything. In addition, I am very particular about my potatoes. I like my fries thin and crispy, anything thick reminds me of mashed potatoes, which is possible the blandest food on Earth. Anyways, while crinkle-cut isn't my go-to, I did appreciate that these fries weren't thick. While I was advised to dip them in Cane's sauce, ketchup was better. I also have mixed feelings about the Texas Toast. I was not aware of this option, but I should have ordered it to be buttered on both sides, which could have made it better. Instead, I felt like I was eating 3 slices of white Wonderbread smushed together and fried on one side. It didn't have a flavor really, just toasted starch. This was definitely the weakest component, but clearly it is influenced by my strong dislike of plain white bread. I'm biased I know! Its my blog!! I did finish my entire basket, no crumbs were left on my plate. The meal overall satisfied my hunger, and was definitely juicy and good quality meat. Overall, I wish it had more spice and flavor. The batter in the chicken could have used a little chili powder, they should have hot sauce available, and the Texas toast just needs to be..better. A very wise friend, Gunnar, proffered the idea of adding different spice rubs that could either be added in the kitchen or by the consumer. Or, they should offer a general "spicy" version of the wings, that could come with that dry spice blend on top. Yes, these innovations could cost money, but hey! More customers! read more

Not really a fan of this Cane's location. The one in Bellevue is faster and has better overall service. This one left my family & I sitting in the drive thru for 25+ minutes trapped behind many cars. Took them a really long time to get our food out (which was still thankfully good). They aren't really as friendly as the Bellevue Cane's employees either, and are more worried about leaving work. I guess if I'm forced to, I would come here - and by "forced to" I mean only if for some reason I can't get to the other Cane's locations & this is the only Cane's I have access to, although I can't imagine a scenario like that becoming reality. If you don't have to eat at this Cane's, then don't. Go to the Bellevue one, it is much better. read more

At first I was put off when I heard they only do chicken strips. What? Who can do a business on just one item? Then I remembered what Anthony Bourdain said. Do one thing and do it well. This is what Raising Cane's is all about. Dare I whisper they have perfected the chicken strip? Wash out your mouth if you call it a chicken nugget! This is a strip of white meat which remains juicy and tender and moist and pulls apart in those delicate strings of chicken. The breading/crust has been seasoned just so and when dipped into the Cane sauce transforms the mouthful into rainbows and unicorns. I have been known to be a fry whore so when I tell you these fries are delicious, believe me. Crinkle cut with just the right amount of salt. I want to go back as I write this. I think I want to try the sandwich next. Oh, the sweet tea wasn't overly sweet. I think I would have preferred it to be a little sweeter, that's the only fault I could see. The ceiling is fairly high here, and the echo of the conversations was deafening. I could barely hear the cashier. It was fairly busy, but there were tables available. Unfortunately, none had been cleared and were covered with leftover meals. We chose a table and I cleaned it with napkins and water from the fountain. As we were finishing our lunch, someone was sent from the back to clean tables. My suggestion for weekends: if you care to eat peacefully, use the drive-thru. read more

Omaha needed this option and especially in this area... People that complain about how much ice is in their cup should speak up if that's an issue... Facepalm... Anyway, I am here on the second day being open and even though busy as heck they were jamming at the registers! I am from Baton Rouge and have loved canes for a long time so consider the fifth star purely that factor. Chicken is moist, well breaded, and consistent. I personally think their canes sauce rocks (i swear my home version is only one ingredient off) and I fully support a simple menu... Do one thing and do it right. Decor is standard canes with tables, bench seating, and a few corner spots. Albeit the fighting Dodge traffic at certain hours this strip of land needed a breath of fresh air so good choice canes! Staff were all friendly and handled the volume well. Manager was out and engaged and kept his smile on... I think they will do well here even at a slightly higher price point than other chicken restaurants which I won't even bother to mention. Others mentioned the coleslaw being underwhelming... it's true. This is why anyone who knows canes tells the counter to hold the slaw and hit 'em with an extra toast. Oh yeah! It's kind of hard to get to Raising Cane's as you can't turn right onto Capital from 72nd and you can't turn right onto Dodge from Dodge, so it was kind of a pain to get to. I ordered the 3 finger combo and two kids meals. We ate the food about 5-10 minutes later. I waiting in the drive through line for about 10-15 minutes at 11:30 am, which was surprisingly a long time considering all they make is chicken tenders and fries. The chicken strips were kind of small compared to the marketing and menu pictures but they were pretty tasty. The breading was good and the chicken was fresh and moist. The fries were limp and soggy. The texas toast was decent, but a tad soggy. But the Cane sauce was the big winner here. It tasted awesome with so many levels of flavor. I wish I could buy a bucket of it. With the fries and the texas toast being soggy, that may attribute to me eating it 10 minutes after getting it so I won't let that affect my rating too much. Overall, it was okay. A tad expensive considering the size of the chicken tenders but I am definitely going back to dip more tenders in that amazing cane sauce. read more

He approached the window and then told me" I dont have to give you my name". I had to call another location to ask about this behavior of the other manager. The counter moved things along nicely. Hot food - it was hot and fresh - period. The chicken - tender, breaded without too much or too little - it worked well with the Buffalo Ranch Sauce or the Dave's Hot Sauce, which they gave me after asking if I wanted it. Fries - All good. The not so good: the parking lot was packed solid. (Which again, doesn't make sense with the reviews on here!) We had to park in another lot around the corner. Don't go to this raising canes! They have a peel the love going on and we got a free bread tab. When we went to redeem they said next visit because it said so on the peel tab. Well we reviewed the peel tab and it doesn't say that so we showed them. Then they lied again and said it's on the cup. We went and got the cup and it doesn't say it. Then they said it's their policy from a manager no less. So you would rather loose a customer for a $1.00 piece of bread? And lie three times to a customer to save a $1.00. This was a horrible example of why hiring the right people is important and proper training!!! We own three stores ourselves and I would never argue and lie to a customer like this.
