So this isn't my first choice in fast food but it was my teenager and his friend's last day of school and it was his pick. Ordered and paid online so we wouldn't have to wait. The parking lot is a nightmare at lunchtime as it's surrounded by multiple restaurants. I drop the boys off to retrieve the order. Two, three piece combos upgraded with large drinks and one extra tender for me. Arrived 5 minutes past the pick up time. Drove around for about 10 minutes (again, no parking) before they exited. Food was hot but they received 1 medium drink and 1 large. No stars taken off because the small clamshell with the extra tender actually had 2. Fries definitely could have stayed in the fryer another minute. They still had that slightly undercooked potato taste. Tenders fried nicely. Bread, perfect. The signature sauce was just meh but that's preference I guess. Overall, not a bad outing. $25 for 2 hungry teens. After 3.6 years of living in Paradise Valley I visited Raising Caine's Fast Food location at Paradise Valley Mall. Courteous Staff. The Chicken Tenders were EXCELLENT. Not Greasy ! Not Over Cooked! JUST RIGHT. At 1:00 O'Clock on a Tuesday 10 tables were occupied. Loved my 4 Chicken Fingers , their Dipping Sauce was Awesome. Added Louisiana Hot Sauce on my fries. Ate 1/2 of them so I could devour the 1/2 piece of Garlic Bread. Soaked up the last remaining drops of the dipping Sauce! YUMMY. Okay I realize this is Fast Food, yet it's well prepared. I'd say it was pretty legit for fast food... and I don't really like fast food ever (unless it's In-N-Out)! The crinkle fries were crunchy and the toast was buttery. That chicken though! With the Cane sauce, which is a mysterious creamy mixture of something herbal and smoky (not quite Thousand Island dressing), was a perfect combo with the chicken. Chicken breading maybe could use more seasoning, but there was this very obvious crunch and the inside was so juicy. We also had a lemonade since the combo comes with a drink (we don't drink soda), and that thing was super sweet, but enjoyable for an afternoon that was already threatening to get hotter. Large location with chill vibes, plenty of parking. It might have been odd to get Raising Cane's, but not for us since the first time we heard about it were from some podcast dudes who reside in Phoenix; they always hyped the crap out of it, so here we were! I had experiences that left me upset and frustrated from the store on peoria and they have lost my buisness. One time the drive through line was long so I parked and went inside to order. To my shock and dismay I watched as all the food went out to the drive through window and nothing was served to patrons inside as an attempt to control the long lines around the store instead of first come first served. Then I confronted the manager and he admitted to as much, so I started waiting in the long drive through lines only to see the lane splitting and how cars that arrived after I did were served before me as they were moved into a second lane of waiting cars, to which I complained making myself looking like a Karen and the third strike was the same thing. Attended the opening of the new store at 2084 W. Bell Rd as a guest of Raising Cane's and Yelp. The turn out was good. Once I was "checked in" I went to the counter and received the meal that had been prepared for the hungry Yelpers. 5 chicken fingers, Texas toast, fries, slaw, dipping sauce and a drink of choice. The chicken was still to hot to eat initially, so I worked on the fries, the slaw and the toast for a few minutes. Once the chicken cooled down, I dipped it in the sauce and had a bite. The sauce was good, the chicken was surprisingly soft, and the generous coating of breading was also soft. I had envisioned the outside being crunchy (as it appeared to be fried) and the chicken inside to be moist but not soft. My tastes do not tilt to soft meats, veggies or other things that I believe should require a certain amount of chewing. So while the taste was very good, I cannot say I enjoyed the consistency of the chicken. I am not even sure it is supposed to be like this or just maybe that is the way this batch came out. Anyway, that is my opinion. It certainly seemed that the others there were not in any way daunted, they seemed to be enjoying everything. The helpings were generous, with more than enough for one person, possibly two. The staff was friendly and attentive. The chicken is good, but it's a night and day difference between dining in and drive-thru/takeout. Not particular to this location, but all Cane's seem to use styrofoam boxes in plastic bags. This makes freshly fried food soggy. The breading falls right off the tenders. End of discussion. Period. Using paper clamshells or at least paper bags would allow the steamy food to vent on the way home. Seeing as this is primarily a drive-thru business, it only makes sense. Every other business knows this--KFC knows this. I like Cane's but they certainly ruin their own reputation because of this. read more
