I have booked the back room for my daughters baby shower, 3 weeks in advance, we have agreed on a price and the date and i left a deposit. The party was supposed to be from 2 to 6 pm and everything was agreed upon. We sent out the invitations and we thought everything was good to go. My daughter went there a few days prior to the party to see the place, and the owner, told her it will not be a private party she over booked the place and told my daughter the party will be shared with others as well as she told me we would need to be out by 5 pm instead of 6 pm as we agreed and i have that in writing. When my other daughter who lives in Singapore called her to speak to the owner she was nasty and rude and left me a nasty voice message that she wants us to cancell the party. Horrible we had 4 days to find a different place and had to contact over 40 people with the change of an address. Dont ever make reservations or book a party. They are horrible. We couldn't recommend this place enough. The skirt steak is phenomenal (whether you eat it there or get it delivered) and the sides are great too. We typically get Raizes delivered, but recently decided to eat at the restaurant. What an incredible experience. We were greeted with a very friendly hello by Andy (I think! His name slips my memory at the moment) who was also our server. He was extremely attentive without being intrusive and it just felt like we were in our good friend's home who was hooking us up with all his mom's best food! We went for the traditional non-stop meat fest Rodizio. If you are dining in and haven't eaten all day, this is the meal for you. Every 3-4 minutes another insanely delicious and unique fire roasted meat was brought to us on skewers and each meat was better than the last. Our entire experience was perfect. We have gone twice. The first time was a weeknight, and my husband and I did the all you can eat meat, which I found dry and salty, but I figured it was low turnover so maybe they just keep re-heating the meat - forget the skewer look of giving me one piece from the full skewer, and instead cook 2 pieces to order! My kids had a pasta dish and the sliders - $10 each, but good portion sizes. We did a seafood tower which was pretty good. The next time we went with 3 more adults and they each got a dish from the specials menu - which all 3 looked, and tasted, delicious. My husband and I got the meat again, and now, even on a bit more busier Friday night, was dry and salty - I couldn't even finish each portion, let alone get seconds. Again, the apps were great - the sausage was tasty, the shrimp in like a beer sauce was very good, and again, the seafood tower seemed fresh. Overall, enjoy the freshly prepared dishes and avoid the meat skewers. As others have mentioned, they did an amazing job with the renovation - a beautiful space and sort of cool to sit in the back where literally, my car was once or twice serviced. Love the décor here and some of the wait staff are super attentive and helpful. The food is hit or miss for me. Sometimes it's fresh and delicious, sometimes it tastes dried out or over dressed. There are a lot of menus, almost too many. I definitely have a much better time when I sit at the bar vs a table. read more

Really enjoyed this place the food was great. Had the raw oysters as an appetizer and the Skirt Steak for dinner. Food was cooked to my liking. Sangria was perfect and the wait staff was quick. My son's communion, one of the most important days in his and our lives was ruined today, I made reservations for this place months ago after my sister recommended it to me, spoke to Lucia and agreed on 1 pm, spoke to her a couple of times after that, agreed on the menu, no issues, never in any of those conversations did she mention that we had to leave by 4 pm, because she had another party coming in. Got there today and everything was going smooth it so it seems. Only at 335 she approached me and said to me "we need to wrap this up, I have a party of 55 coming in", at this point we didn't even had our communion cake, we were just finishing up dinner and still having drinks. We had a waiter ask if we wanted coffee and the cake was literally pushed in front of our face. At 420 we were asked to leave, with our coffee and some cake still sitting on the table since we didn't have the time to finish it. The check was thrown in my face and I was reminded by Lucia to pay when I didn't pay right away as I was trying to have a piece of my son's communion cake. Lucia was very unprofessional and when I tried to talk to her she didn't let me speak, I had to just walk away from her. Food was good and drinks were good but when it comes to service they deserve no stars!!!! Needles to say that day was ruined for us and it seems this business doesn't care about its patrons, it's about squeezing as many people in as they can for dollar! read more

BEYOND DISAPPOINTED!!! My friends and I came here tonight to celebrate a birthday. We originally made reservations at 8 but we called to have them pushed until 9 because of crazy traffic on the LIE. We are from the hamptons and drove almost 2 hours to come here!!! What a waste of time. Upon entering we told the person that we had reservations and his response was.. For food? And gave us an odd look. He then disappeared for 5 minutes and told us that unfortunately the kitchen was closed and that all he could do was make us skirt steaks! We were furious at the fact that no one told us that they decide to close early on a Sunday meanwhile we made reservations for 9 and showed up at 9 and their website says they are open until 11! Why didn't anyone tell us they were going to close and not have us waste our time!! So upset!! And to top it off the guy didn't even seem interested in us returning. No apologizes.. Nothing! Came here with a large group for a dinner and it was a great experience. The place and the staff were nice. It seems this place receives mixed reviews for the food but everyone in my party enjoyed their dishes (which included the rodizio). I will say, their seafood is Great. I'm not a huge seafood person but I could not get enough of the Shrimp Mozambique and everyone liked the raw oysters. It's a good place to go to when you have a large group with different dietary needs - both carnivores and vegetarians left happy. read more

Like many others have elaborately commented the ambience is beautiful and staff are attentive and friendly - certainly a necessary factor for a memorable dining experience. The food on the other hand is lacking in flavor and to put it nicely a notch below average / standard. Didn't make the cut for both my husband and my palette. The Portuguese all you can eat selection was slim and made up of cheap meats ( chicken sausage wings pork). The most delicious cut of meat the pork ribs with the bone ( really the only meat that was recently cooked) was taken out of the menu ( perhaps it's too pricey of a meat to serve unlimited. The food is really good and the service was great. We walked in and we were allowed to sit anywhere in the restaurant. The servers were very attentive and very helpful in providing great food recommendations. The restaurant interior design is very nice and has a lot of open space. The food is great, first and foremost. Unfortunately the service from one employee ruined my experience at Razies. The Assistant Manager gave me so much attitude today during the World Cup final. A tall skinny man with dark hair who rendered to himself as the Assistant Manager... When bringing me the wrong drink order I told him to please switch it. If i could give 0 stars i would. I live down the block and was excited about this place. It looks very cool and has potential. I had a reservation for 9 o'clock on a Friday night was only thinking about some good steak and a beer or 2. We were seated at 9:05 and given menus, So far so good. Then no waiter approached us for 25 minutes. 25 minutes. 25 MINUTES!! I kept giving the place the benefit of the doubt because it was new and maybe they were short on staff. But they weren't and the waiter and waitress kept passing us giving no eye contact. The group behind us were also being ignored. Then after 25 minutes we got half filled glasses of luke warm water...then no service after that again for 5 more minutes so we got up and left. And we had a reservation. Place wasn't that busy either. NO excuse for this extreme lack of service. Very disrespectful. Avoid this place if you can unless you like being ignored. read more

Amazing is an understatement! I went with my husband and in-laws who are Portuguese, and the food and ambiance provided a fantastic experience with all the comforts of Portuguese tradition. The portions were huge, wine selection was long, service was excellent and the owner even took the time to introduce herself to us! I would give 0 stars. This was by far the worst meal I have had in greenpoint EVER! We should have walked out when we had the chance. First, we were told it would be a 15 minute wait for our party of 4. Not bad, but then about 25 minutes later the hostess sat a party of 2 at a four top table. They arrived after us! It wasn't until the bartender heard us complaining that the hostess came over and told us a table would be ready shortly. They sat us in the far back dark corner with not even a candle on the table. The waiter took about another 20 minutes to come and take drink orders. Then about another 20 minutes go by before we even get drinks. When our food finally arrived, 2 of the 4 meals were basically inedible. The mashed potato were dry and cold. If a restaurant can't figure out how to make decent mash, there is no hope for them. The one fish dish was so salty it couldn't be eaten and the skirt steak was so bland tough and dry it couldn't be eaten either. The only thing the succeeded at putting on the plate were some French fries. Our check took about 30 minutes to arrive and we had to ask the bus boy 3 times to send the waiter over with it. And, we had to take our credit card up to the front in order to avoid waiting who knows how long for the waiter to actually pick it up. The waiter had 3 tables, I think he could have been more attentive. We spent 3.5 hours at his place to pay a lot for food we couldn't eat and get annoyed. All in all an awful experience. read more

Disgraceful stuff. I'll never put my foot in there again. Went with friends to see soccer game. Didn't feel good but bought 500ml beer, not the small one, the BIG bottle. Again, I was sick but felt like it was appropriate to buy a beer. When I finished I was approached by an older lady saying that I need to buy a beer. I said I just finished one. After about two minutes another bartender approach me saying that I need to buy another beer. This is the guy that sold me bottle 30min earlier. I told him that but he said I need to buy another one right away or I need to leave! And so I left. By the way, I wasn't sitting at the bar, I was in the back squeezed between 100 of people. Disgraceful people! You won't see a penny from me ever again. And this is just the beginning. Then there is this post, I hope it will help some people to choose wise and avoid this bar. My husband and I have been waiting to try this place since it opened and I have even been telling friends about it. We finally got that chance tonight and I have to say that we won't be going back. The place itself has great decor and the food was good however drink service at the table was slow and you are not able to take your leftovers home. Never heard of this before! I thought our waiter was kidding. Our bill wasn't cheap either. We each had two drinks, an appetizer to share, and we both did the meat special for $28 per person, where you get to try several types of meats. I wasn't able to finish my portion so I had asked to get a to go box. I was told that I couldn't and the food was in house only. I was shocked. It's not like I asked for an extra helping, it was my original portion. That was the deciding factor right there not to come back. There was nothing on the menu stating that you are not able to take home leftovers nor were we told beforehand when we ordered. The only thing the menu stated was "no sharing" which we didn't. We each paid $28 per meal. I think that it is absolutely ridiculous not to be able to take home your leftovers especially for that price or any price for that matter. We won't be going back and I was also sure to let our friends know as well. read more
