Finally a company that still believes in good customer service! Ed made a next day appointment with me. Showed up on time and seems I had purchased the wrong replacement lock set for an office door. Knowing we were a non profit he suggested that we switch the lock set from another office door that always stay open. Saved us $150, which our agency can feed alot of families with. We just bought a townhouse that had a couple of hard to work locks and a deadbolt that didn't work at all, plus I wanted them all re-keyed anyway. I called Raleigh Locksmith and Ed was able to come out within an hour. In no time, he replaced five locks and added another one. Locks are something you have to work with several times a day and having to jiggle or pull one to get it to work every time gets so annoying, even when you're used to it. Amazing! I got five estimates and Raleigh Locksmith's was the lowest, saving me $10-$65 over the competitors. When I called to book an appointment, Ed said he could probably meet me in about an hour, and would call as soon as he finished his current job. He called ten minutes later, and 20 minutes after that was at my house. He was friendly and fast. Went to work and rekeyed my five locks in about 20 minutes. He even fixed my garage door when I mentioned it wasn't working (a quick fix, but extremely helpful to me). He also gave me three key copies without an extra charge. I broke the key in my front door deadbolt. I called Raleigh Locksmith and they were willing to come rigfht over, but we booked for the next morning. About 30 minutes before the scheduled time, they called and said they could come right then. Within 20 minutes, I had the lock fixed. I had Ed Hamrick from Raleigh Locksmith come over and install three deadbolts on doors in my home. I found his name from the Yellow Pages, among about 3 or 4 others that I called to price the service. Ed was reasonably priced, flexible, and worked to my schedule. He also didn't raise any issues with installing locks that I had purchased myself. He came over and went directly to work in quick order. Ed doesn't mess around and he's not one to chat it up while working. I was amazed at how fast, accurate, and neat he was in doing the work. He was in and gone before I could bat an eye. It was money well spent, very reasonably priced, and work well done. It's my understanding that Ed will be retiring soon and his son will take over his business. I have never dealt with his son. But if Ed's still around and you need a good locksmith, I highly recommend that you give him a call.
