This is normally where I go shopping for my groceries. You don't need a club card to get special deal--good prices for all. The meat department is for the most part very fresh. The staff service is very good, the Wine guy is very knowledgeable! I have not been disappointed here yet. read more

Most of the time Raley's is just fine, but today in particular, it was NOT good. I was at the check stand checking out when suddenly I realized that a man not wearing a mask was standing 2 feet from me! There are signs outside the store saying that masks are required, but I often see people in the store without them, and no one in the store says anything to them. In the beginning, there was a worker at the door offering masks to those who want one, but I have not seen that in a long time.( last week I saw a family of 5 without masks, from a distance.) When I told the checker that I was uncomfortable with this man not wearing a mask, he said that he wished he could do something about it, but... I called and spoke with a manager and she was very nice, but the bottom line was the same. Therefore, I am abandoning shopping at Raley's. (I've shopped there for 20 years.) There are many stores to choose from that do a much better job with this. read more

Large selection of everything at a HUGE price markup but convenient if cost is not a concern. The produce department while looking overly sterile, displays a limited selection of more overpriced items. I have made multiple visits, within a day of purchasing, to return spoiled fruit and vegetables. Bottom line: save yourself the time, trouble & money and go to SPD just up the street. read more

This review goes out to the E-CART CREW!! I shop with a disabled adult son and maneuvering him in the aisles is a total pain! E-Cart crew is awesome!! I have been a Raleys customer for many years. I shop SPD, and Safeway sometimes too. Raleys is always my #1 because of their open layout that generally stays the same (thank god), their customer service, their produce, and their deli. Did I say their deli?! Chinese, burritos, sandwiches, pastas, meats, cheeses, cakes. The deli & bakery wins best in town. Since the Pandemic, I like to use the ecart pick up and I appreciate the staff shopping for me tremendously. I wish they could accept tips. I also just want to commend management for going above and beyond to correct any wrong ecart orders. I love this store even more now. When we had a power outage for several days they were on fire with excellent customer service. Food ice and smiles were plenty. I love you all. I told them in person how impressed I was but need to be sure it's publicly displayed. We're about to experience another outage and I know I'll be spending a lot of time there again. read more

Store is always clean! Employees are very nice! If you have a concern or problem Managment is right there to assist you! A store that still has courtesy clerks that will bag up your groceries and take them out to your car! That's very rare these days! read more

This is a very great location when ever I am in the area I like to make a special trip here I also really enjoy the Pete's coffee here soo good the bakery staff definitely achieves making great delicious coffee they also have very delicious bakery items some of my favorites are the maple bar donuts the French bread and the Dutch bread the individual cakes are very good this location is a very clean establishment very clean atmosphere I Also enjoy the service deli here it is very good they also Make very delicious sandwiches the meat department is always beautifully displayed they have very great quality in all of the items that they prepare they definitely achieve great presentation of delicious foods they also have vegan options which I think is awesome since a lot of people are vegan and I think it is great that they have added this to there stores this location Also has very wide aisles which makes shopping that much easier and the staff here is amazing if you need help finding a item they will walk you over to it they won't just point like other stores I definitely appreciate when a store will go above and beyond for me it is very nice they also have A very beautiful display of flowers in the floral department it always smells so good the restrooms are always very clean and the parking lots as well this store is very clean I highly recommend this establishment for anyone looking for a store and great shopping experiences I will definitely be coming back here again soon next time I am in town thank you raley's was read more

For all of us here in Grass Valley, when it comes to grocery stores we are indeed fortunate. Fortunate to have our local Raley's and it's fantastic staff. Not only is this store immaculate and well organized, the staff is always courteous, friendly and efficient at what they do. A testament to the excellent management and their ability to not only choose the right people for the job, but provide excellent training and motivation. This is NOT and easy thing to achieve in a high volume and service based industry, but they do it. We've also discovered that most every "Raley's Brand" of food is just as good in not better than the other name brands, all while being a bit cheaper. If you use your coupons wisely and take advantage of their new points rewards system, you can easily buy a lot and for less. Great job guys! :-) read more

This place is the hottest ticket in town! The most beautiful grocery store ever. There is everything here! Peets coffee, a huge deli, a large magazine isle, a pharmacy and tons of other details. I even found wax for my daughters braces when both Longs and Rite Aid didn't carry it. I can't say enough about the produce section which is the main reason I come here. The organic selection is gorgeous compared to the hippy dippy stores. And it's less $! Best prices on organic leafy greens compared to the Briarpatch, Natural Selections, Save Mart, Safeway or SPD. The health food section keeps on growing and the bulk bins are fun although I don't know why they don't have carry sugar in them? They also have the best price on almond milk. They also offer up two kinds of carts. The "sport" carts for just a few things or the huge ones for the big trips. SUPER friendly staff. They must get super high intensive customer service training! And they'll do anything for you with a big fat smile on their face! In a world where there are fewer and fewer places with that kind of niceness, this store is so refreshing. The only bad thing is the parking lot. There are tiny spaces. I've had my little car dinged twice over there so if you don't want your car nicked by thoughtless losers then you should park farther away from the store. I don't get why they did that to the parking lot a few years back. A time when cars have never been bigger (i.e. Hummers SUV's), they paint little spaces to park in. I guess to pack more people in. read more

Updated 10-17-2016 So I'm in the deli getting a sandwich, and the employee, Gregory, is having trouble figuring out how to make it, then as he's making it, he tells me he's sick. Really Raley's? You don't give your people sick leave? And a sick employee is making food for people. At least he had gloves on. I let the young cashier with a nose ring on, that he had told me he was ill, but she blew me off. This is the most expensive grocery store I've been to in a long time. I wouldn't ever buy anything here. Everything is overpriced. And don't look for any help from the employees. They are so busy looking like they are working, they never look up to help. There are usually 3 guys working in the produce section, but you can't get their attention, well maybe if you run up on them. There is a cluster of customers standing around the pharmacy, you can't get by there. And no one moves to get out of your way. Stay away from that area. The check out is ok. read more

Honestly, this is the best grocery store I've been to. it is always clean, organized, they have great breakfast burritos in the deli section in the mornings, the biggest selection of ice cream i have ever seen, you name it and they have it. Everyone that works there has been nothing but polite. And they also have these bones for my dogs that they LOVE called "butcher bones" and i've never seen that brand anywhere else but here. This is a nice Raley's. They have a Peet's Coffee & Tea located in their store, and a very impressive meat section. They also have a hotbar filled with the finest of goods. They also have copious amounts tomato sauce. And those weird vegetables which are like a mix between a cauliflower and broccoli, but with spikes. They have both quite cheap, and expensive things, so every budget is welcome. Large amounts of ice cream, and carbonated water, they also have a pets section. However not sure if that extends further than cats and dogs. 10/10 Raley's. Although never been to any other. read more

One of the worst Produce sections. Picked up some tomatoes they only last for a day. I also picked up mandarins that weren't even ripe. Terrible experience throughout the store hard to find what you're looking for. Their meat department is very limited. I Would like to see improvement in the store. read more

The retail egg area at Raley's Freeman store is a mess and has been that way over a week. The bottom trays are egg-yolk salmonella soup. I pointed out this to an employee last week. This week (7-12-2019) it is still filthy and had not been cleaned. The manager of this store needs to walk around and check things like this. read more

This grocery store is ridiculous. The staff has no idea where things are. They forget to ring up items. They are inconsistent in stocking their fresh pet. When asked to be called when it came in. No one called. A month later still nothing. Customer service is consistantly not up to par! Their pharmacy technicians are slow. It's been two weeks!!! I've been there several times to pick up a prescription that has yet to be filled. I get some snappy punk behind the counter explaining they are slow because of opiates! That has nothing to do with my reason for being there!! I hate this Raleys! They hire morons and pharmacists who are lazy and shitty people read more

I cannot be inside many stores for very long due to personal reasons, but I love the fact that this is the only grocery shop near where I personally live that has E- Cart online order/pickup. Its incredibly beneficial and helpful and I highly reccomend the service. read more

I have been shopping at Raley's since i was in high school. My mom got me started there, I just never moved to another store. I love all the fresh produce, the deli, the hot foods and all the new salad bar items. The workers though transitioning it seems more nowadays, luckily at my Grass Valley store i still have long term employees still there. They know my name, they help when needed, and are always friendly. People try to tell me its the most expensive. I just don't see it. I have compared and still insist on my favorite store. I absolutely love raleys, but I called to ask for a salsa brand and flavor to be sure they had it and the man from customer service picked up and immediately said "no I've never heard of that." He clearly was too lazy to even look. So I called again and the same guy picked up and he finally sent someone to check. For sure, they had it. I know it seems petty, but I live quite a ways and would drive the distance for it. By the way the salsa brand is called arriba fire roasted garlic and cilantro if anyone was curious. read more

This is primarily based on the deli. The store is big, well organized and has plenty of variety. The deli counter seems understaffed and the people working it don't scream experienced. It was like watching paint dry as my sandwich was assembled. Sandwich was very good I must say. Looking back I wish I grabbed some of the sushi instead. It looked amazing. I was going there for a deli sandwich and walking up I was passing a bbq stand in their parking lot. The sign read tri tip sandwich and I knew I wouldn't pass this up. It was $7.50. This was a bad choice. Do not go for this. Sandwich was terrible. I don't even believe it was tri tip. Bad beef shaved thin ,over cooked no sauce stale roll. What more can I say. Warned you. Thought I would add my 2 cents after Chris C. I am not sure what is worse an owner who won't respond or a corporation that hires someone to sit in an office and print something so you the reader thinks all is well. Chris is not at our Raley's, never had this horrible Sandwich and "jack" won't get done. This sandwich was never created by anyone with food knowledge and if some "suit" thought this was a good idea they should be fired. I wrote this for my friends and neighbors as a warning. Pro's: Nice store, good deli dept, good verity , good quality. Con's: Too much area devoted to liqueur & wine. In the last few months the prices have spiked dramatically. Examples- Ready to heat & eat meals went from 6.50 to 8.00 Susi in a tray went from 12 to 10 count. And many other similar price increases. Talked to a employee and he said that the GV store is their #1 store. So great let's rip off everyone because we can. So I have had enough and will not be shopping there any more. If I want to pay inflated prices I'll support a locally owned store instead. read more

I use to work for Raleys....Joyce took pride in the store as with her father... the Grass Valley Ca store...looks horrible!!! Floors are dirty, marked up from pallet tires, the free standing chinese food bars food is dry, looking terrible. Bought a tri tip, it is so dry and over cooked....Customer Service department is full of back room shelving, lights, empty boxes....and be sure to check your receipts.....I can "feel" not only see how much Raley's has went down hill. read more

I wandered in here one day in search of the Peet's Coffee that is located inside. I was hoping that I could find a local coffee place similar to Starbucks (the one in Grass Valley messed up my white mochas all the time and I was sick of it). I remembered trying to apply to that Peet's when I first moved here and the nice older lady behind the counter said that it was a coveted position for employees who had been working at Raley's for awhile. Well all I have to say is, what I clever concept! The people who work at this Peet's are on it! They are fast and efficient and always make my drink taste the way it should. I will be coming in here regularly for my coffee fix. read more

Watch your wallet here. For example, they advertise sandwiches at 9.99 and charge twelve dollars for it. They refuse to change the sign but if you hassle them a little they sell it at the advertised price. Thank the new manager who is a pinhead. Who knows what else they do. These kinds of places advertise one price and charge you more at the counter so look at your receipt. read more

I've always loved this grocery store - I go here when I'm on my way to/from my in-laws house or when I want to pick up something quick - they have such a great selection of alcohol, cheese, produce, and spices and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. I also love their little free newsletter books they have at the registers - I've found so many good recipes in them! We get our turkey from here for Thanksgiving - a delicious bird! read more

I am beyond frustrated. I have been picking up my husbands pain medication here for years. I always come in as soon as they open, which is suppose to be 9am. They pharmacy staff is usually late and then they have to set up before they can help anyone. So you get to sit longer and wait. If you are going to open at 9am the staff should be there ready to help me at 9am. This is annoying. I went there today just after 9am. My husband called Saturday to confirm they could be picked up today. I go in there and am told I have to wait till noon when the pharmacist who fills narcotics comes in. Why? What changed from last month, I have never waited till noon or later. I am told this has been there policy for 3 years. How can that be? I picked up the same medication last month by 9:30. Today should be his first dose, but now they are making him wait and his is missing his first dose. He is on pain management medication that needs to continue to be in his body to work. Making him miss doses, not only causes pain but it messes up his pain management. I am confused why Bob, the head pharmacist, who is working right now, can not fill this medication? What are the chances that when I go in at noon, I will be told to come back when Bob gets back from lunch? I do not think that my husband should be punished because he needs pain medication. I talked to a manager, a man in his 30's with dark slicked hair. He went back and talked to the staff in the pharmacy. I am not sure who exactly told him that when they looked at the medication pick up record, that I only have ever picked it up before noon when I come in the next day that it can be filled. That is a flat out lie. I make sure to come in on the day he needs it filled. Why would I make my husband go an entire day without medication? So he can be stuck in bed, unable to walk? That we eat to try to get his pain managed again? That is ludacris!! I am very frustrated that complaining to management was useless because he believed the pharmacy's lie. He came back and just kept saying that is there policy. I was overwhelmed and just walked out. I am waiting for the pharmacy supervisor from corporate to call me back. If they really looked at the medication pick up record, they would be able to see that someone lied about when I come in. This pharmacy is going downhill. I also think that it is super unprofessional for the pharmacy technician to have an attitude with me when I was just trying to ask her a question. I honestly think that this is retaliation because I have called corporate before for them not opening on time. read more

They have a great natural foods section. The staff is ALWAYS friendly...almost scary starting to think they are robots or something. Even so, they are sweet as ever. Sometimes if you come in around 5 or 6 at night, the lines get jammed up and you wonder where all the staff is. But, easy parking, great selection, good staff. read more
