The gentleman was collecting shopping carts outside, and he greeted me with outstanding smile and service. They have a very nice store in this place, and everything is always organized and clean. Absolutely awful customer service every time I go in there. I know good customer service because I own a very successful business myself. I have kept my mouth shut for too long. Last week I went in there to get stuff for a party and the two older ladies that rung me up were not nice. No friendliness whatsoever. Today I went in to buy my expensive meat because I cook for my dogs. The older heavy set man that watches over self check out, manager in a black shirt, stares me down the whole time I am ringing up. Came straight here when I arrived to town around 7pm on a Sunday night. The cashier was chatting with a coworker and when we walked up to check out it seemed as if I was a terrible inconvenience to her. I tried to be pleasant mentioned how nice the store was and she was cold and got a "yeah uh huh". I even told her to have a good night but my goodness she needed to be anywhere else but at work. Huge, huge shout out to Joe on night crew. It's a couple days before Christmas and there was no graham cracker crust on the shelf. I asked an employee (who I won't name names) if he could look in the back and he said, "it's in the back but it would take me 4 hours to find it." Joe came up without disrespecting the co-workers decision and politely said, "I'll go look. Should I look in the baking pallets?" I was so relieved as going to another store was going to cost me an hour. He came back and said that the store director said there was none. Going to another store feels differently when they are out vs. they just didn't want to look for it. Huge shout out to Joe! Put him on days if he wishes. Coming back home from a trip, we stopped off on the way home to replenish the refrigerator and cupboards. Usually, I use the self-check aisle, but due to the volume of our haul today, we decided to "let the pros do it!" With Katie ringing up the items and Lauren expertly packing everything, we were out in no time. I'm saddened to have to write a review that is negative in nature. There are some great things about this location and others that unfortunately result in a rather low rating, when this used to be our only go to location. My wife and I are not newbie's. We have lived in Loomis and shopped this store for well over 20 years! This location has gone downhill compared as to what it used to be. Some of the produce is fine but others shouldn't even be offered. Without writing a dissertation, let's just say that when I've approached management, they really don't care. They don't carry the same higher end items that were my go to this store for anymore. Competition is coming with the new Costco and Walmart, just down the street, has a better selection (if one can stand going into a Walmart). So, we are pretty much done shopping here anymore. She was very kind and even filled up my kid's sippy cup with water and ice. Every Raley's I have been to always has great customer service, friendly staff, and quality items. We find the Raley's in Loomis an ideal break point when we travel to Tahoe from the Bay Area. Often we take advantage of their nice deli area for lunch, and the in-store Peet's is perfect if you need an energy boost for the last leg. Naturally an abundant choice of snacks, and we can buy breakfast items for the next few days. Good bathrooms too. Wish we had a store like this in the East Bay: huge, wide aisles, amazing selection, decent prices. Oh well. read more

Trying to fill out my Wic produce amounts, grabbed strawberries and asparagus because I know my kids will eat those. Check out and somehow 7.50 is a remaining balance when I know I have more than enough of the wicked produce allotment left for the month. I say "oh that's weird, ok can we see what it is?" Mark, the bagger, cuts off the sweet cashier and is extremely rude. His exact words "You need to accept the purchase. There's $7.50 left over. There is nothing we can do for you. You either don't have benefits or you don't have enough money. There is nothing we can do for you!" I looked at him. Looked back at the cashier and said maybe it's the asparagus because I know the strawberries weren't that price. It was the asparagus and I asked if they could take that off then since I left my wallet in the car and only grabbed the wic card. Mark then huffs loudly at me and grabs the asparagus looking me dead in the eyes like I just ruined his day and walked away holding this rude eye contact with me. Disgusting behavior. First of all, I didn't ask for something special to be done. I wasn't rude. I literally asked what the $7.50 was and suggested it could be the asparagus. But now I'm mad and disgusted by his behavior so now with this review, absolutely im rude. He didn't need to cut off the cashier. He didn't need to stare me down like he wanted to kill me over some asparagus. I, in no way was asking for them to go through any extra lengths to give me a damn vegetable. He's just a bag boy. We were going to do a ton of shopping and planned to spend over $700. When we walked in half the employees were not wearing masks and most of the customers were not masked. It's one thing not to require customers not to wear masks but to not even try and to let employees not to wear masks is irresponsible and disrespectful of Raley's customers especially those who have at-risk family members at home. We decided to give this location another chance but this time it was even worse. The manager of this store should be terminated as he is risking the health and lives of Raley's employees and customers. Truly shocking. This is in stark contrast to the Raley's in Truckee that we visited. It is so much cleaner and everyone wears masks. We felt so safe there. I accidentally left my purse in my cart after picking up some groceries on the way to Tahoe. My husband called the store and Mark from Raley's went out into the dark parking lot and located my purse. I have been shopping at Loomis Raley's for about five years even though there is a location closer to my residence. This store is very well laid out, clean, and has a great organic produce selection. Very impressive is assistant team lead Chris. Chris is the kind of manager that makes customers feel important. I have seen Chris open a register if there is a line to check out and rush to assist any customer with a question or who needs help. I'm now spoiled and won't shop anywhere else. read more

Above average, even though their baggers overstuff stuff every bag. Prices are more than Winco or Walmart but the quality of Raleys products are generally higher then the average grocery chain. While Raleys is not as classy as Whole Foods, it is a little cheaper. The staff are usually friendly. The meat department is above average. The produce department is above average. The bakery is average. The deli is just OK. Peet's coffee is not bad either. The drinks may not be up to par with the average Pete's but the baristas and the friendly atmosphere definitely make up for it. There is even a little recycling center behind the Raleys. It's a great place to meet desperate singles and potential business partners. read more

This location is a clean place. The staff here is usually pretty nice. The only reason I give it a two star is that every time I go there at night. There's this short blond hair girl that works there who acts like she is pissed off at the world and when she bags your food! She throws them in the bag a slams everything around. What a joke! Stopped here on the way to Lake Tahoe after visiting family in Sacramento Thursday 8/6, and grabbed a snack from the deli. A customer who seemed to be a regular was talking to the Deli Manager (a younger brunette) and asked her why she wasn't wearing mask. The manager responding "because I have a health condition" and then cracked a smile like this is all a joke. I wonder what health condition leaves your employee so fragile that a piece of fabric could harm her but yet you're willing accept liability and let be exposed to a virus. Pretty poor re experience here yesterday. Was hoping to come in for a few quick sandwiches yesterday with my family. When we got there there were two young men behind the counter and a family of 3 in front of us. They were chatting the who time and did not seem too interested in the line behind them. It took them about 10 minutes to make each sandwich. One of the young men seemed to be getting off soon and the other appeared to be on his first day. I believe the one whose name tag said Eddy was supposed to be training the other one that did not have a name tag. Eddy was so preoccupied about his shift ending that even with a family of four waiting, he left the new employee by himself. The new employee even tried to walk away before helping us and Eddy had to tell him to come help us. They were out of Rotisserie Chicken and and had to cut more Pastrami. All of the vegetables were wilted and old looking. The new employee did not even know how to wrap a sandwich and Eddy showed little interest in showing him how to do it properly. He loosely wrapped my sandwiches and they were falling apart before I even got to the register. The worst and last reason we will never come back to this Raley's is when we got to where we were going my daughter opened here sandwich and after a few bites into it found a huge bug in the lettuce. Maybe start hiring someone older than a teenager that would be more interested in helping your customers than his Friday night Raley's read more
