I shop Raley's frequently and recently observed that they are not requiring all customers to wear protective masks while shopping (all employees are wearing masks). I just called the Raley's corporate office to inquire why they are not enforcing the California State Law requiring face masks during the current COVID 19 pandemic and I was told they are not presently and do not plan to enforce the mask requirement. The representative stated they are a grocery store not the police department. It appears Raley's is not concerned about their employees or customers health and safety. They certainly like to take our money. I have shopping Raley's for over 20 years they no longer deserve my business! read more

Was here today to get an espresso drink. I walked up to the ordering station & no one was there! Employees disappeared. Not welcoming. Finally 2 empls appeared & one took my order. Odd assortment of baked goods in the case. They're sitting on a length of paper & the name of the item handwritten in front. I was hungry but passed. I come into this particular Raley's every 2 weeks to restock our office kitchen. Honestly have to say that the entire staff is welcoming and always smiling. Linda is a great service provider at this store. Every time I come in she sees to it that we always get what we need and she is very helpful. Deli staff is wonderful, as are the products. Love treating our staff to new salads that they rotate in. Clean, friendly and a great local place to shop. read more

I love this raleys, but today we had a very young girl checking us out and she seemed extremely overwhelmed. I'm NOT complaining about her at all, she was doing her best and she was so sweet. This review is specifically for the deli department at this Raleys location. Tonight, I went to the deli counter and asked the girl behind the counter (red hair, black makeup and black acrylic nails) if she could please make me a sandwich. She bluntly replied that they couldn't make any hot sandwiches, nor any of the sandwiches on the menu. This seemed bizzare but I went with it. She proceeded to make the sandwich by literally throwing each ingredient onto the bread with an attitude. Additionally, I have never had someone make me a sandwich anywhere without asking what I would like on it - simple questions like would you like meat and what kind. This girl put lettuce on the sandwich and proceeded to stand there with her hands folded staring at me until I realized she wanted me to tell her what to do next. I understand that making a sandwich is maybe not a favorite thing to do, but the attitude and disrespect given by this girl was absolutely ridiculous. Having employees like makes me not want to come back to this Raleys, which is unfortunate because almost everyone else at this is very friendly. read more

Normally this Raley's is great with customer service, with the exception of the bakery. Almost every time I go the ladies there are busy in the back and don't pay attention to the counter or customers. I'll stand there for awhile and sometimes end up grabbing someone from the deli. And if they do notice you, the slowly wander up front, don't greet you, and stand with their backs to you while they fiddle around at the back counter. I stood there with their back to me for at least 5 minutes. I almost left, but I think that's what they'd prefer. One of the two doing this finally asked if I had been helped, which is amazing considering the only two working in that dept were both standing together with their backs to me. The stock was seriously lacking & lots of cake stands were empty, so I asked if they had a chocolate creek pie & they argued with each other as to why there "most likely" isn't one in back. They asked if I wanted them to check and I said please do. While the one went to check the other explained to me that there wasn't going to be anything back there. This is one example of many trips I've made to this bakery, I just finally took the time to jot it down. Frustrating!! read more

i'm planning to start a yelp list of places to eat on the way back home from snowboarding on the sierra / tahoe slopes. i'll be adding the loomis raley's to it because the snowbomb.com / bay area ski bus stops in loomis on the way back. i go snowboarding like 15~20 times a season, so i need to find more places to eat on the way back. while, raley's isn't necessarily the first place i think of for dining; when the bus is pulled over on a nice warm evening after a spring conditions snowboarding day (which could be in spring, fall, or winter these days with global warming and all), hitting up raleys and picking up some decently priced yet good sushi and a packaged salad and sitting outside at the tables at starbucks while the sun sets and venus shines in sky ain't a bad feeling, y'nahwhaddahmshayin'? the deli area has a little bit of variety: it has a huge chinese food bar in the middle, which didn't look all that great to me. it has the usual deli stuff at the counter, which looked pretty good. it has the panini bar, which looks good. i think i got one of these panini's at a raley's in scotts valley... no, was that a nob hill there? nevermind. anyway, i found the sushi to be a pretty good deal for the quality. i forwent the spider roll or shrimp tempura roll thingy since it wasn't warm, but the raw fish stuff like the nigiri mix and the dragon roll was pretty good at $8.79 each. they were pretty much restaurant quality... depending on the restaurant. ha ha ha. yeah, pretty much up to par with an acceptable but not fabulous sushi place, you know? my wife and i got that sushi but also wanted some veggies; so we picked up a seafood louie salad, which was also good. the total price was more than i expected for just stopping by a grocery store; but the quality, as i said, was that of an acceptable restaurant, so it was a pleasant experience. so... if you're up for a quick bite and able to sit outside or in your car or bus on your way back from north tahoe on the 80, then yeah, you might consider stopping in on raley's and picking up some sushi, a salad, or a sandwich. oh yeah, and it's handy that they accept credit card like any grocery store would. read more

This is a great grocery store! They recently renovated the entire store and updated it. The produce is fresh, there is a large selection of meat and seafood. There is a bakery, sushi counter, chinese food, deli, Peet's coffee, and pharmacy. There are several self-checkout counters and many other check out lanes. The store is very large and usually has all of the basics that I am looking for. The prices are a little more expensive than other grocery stores, but they are the only store in Loomis and the service is always great, so I don't mind paying a small increase in price. read more

This Peet's inside a Raley's store in Loomis, CA is a great little find. The barista, a slightly older brown, haired woman was super nice and friendly. She seemed to genuinely care. When she wasn't intently listening to customers she was tidying up. I didn't see a badge but her ID number is 7112 at this location. Great service. The coffee area boasts a sitting area that is tastefully decorated with browns and muted golds as is typical Peet's but with a homey feel. There is a TV running while you relax at dark wood tables. You order at the front and pick up to the right at the side. Tip: you can pay for bagels, pastries or even a bottle of water at the register there with your coffee or tea. It feels like small town America is a growing city. I definitely will be back. read more

This is my favorite of all Raley's stores, it's located just off HWY 80 with easy access on and off the freeway. The staff is the friendliest and most helpful group you will ever meet anywhere. The deli serves up fresh delicious sandwiches and snacks and makes it super easy if you're in a rush. And there's always a wide selection of grab and go healthy alternatives prepared each day. This supermarket is about the only one in Loomis, where I live. Their prices are higher than I usually like to pay, but they are convenient and close by so I don't have to go into Roseville or Auburn to get groceries quickly. OK only two stars. I live right by so I would like a better store. The staff is friendly. The store is clean and nice but the managers don't know how to stock the store. At least six times when they have a sale on Dreyers Ice cream, they NEVER have the non fat vanilla yogurt in stock NEVER. Tons of every other flavor BUT that one. I've told them about this several times, but it's still the same story. I have to drive to another Raley's to get it. Also, there is one heavy set woman at the pharmacy that always messes up orders. I wish they would get some new staff in there. That would bring up my rating to five stars. read more

So so sad....to watch the continuing demise of Raleys. For decades I was the quintessential Raleys customer and advocate..... for many reasons including selection, but most importantly the quality of all their personnel......far and away friendlier and more helpful than those of any grocery store. But alas, over the last several years, they've slashed the products to where I now have to go to other stores to complete shopping, but worse yet, it seems all (most, in any case) the good old employees have been driven off and replaced with younger folks who don't even understand the concept of good customer service. And this applies to all 3 of the Raleys locations I frequent (El Dorado Hills, Loomis, and Auburn). Even the few old timers have become unhappy and surly under the current Raleys management. I remember well when Raleys implemented the policy that all employees had to address customers as Mr. or Mrs. so and so, rather than the first name basis that had developed over the years with long term employees and customers. That went over like a lead ballon, and from my humble opinion was the beginning of Raley's demise.....Raleys went from being the preeminent local grocery store to just one more entrant trying to score a few extra pennies from the public. Based on my abysmal experience today at the Loomis location, I've made the decision to simply stop using Raleys, including their pharmacies. Hopefully, others will do likewise until Raleys gets the hint. I also might add, that I recently passed through Tonopah Nevada........and I couldn't believe how decrepit, scuzzy, and half abandoned the store is there. I get it that Tonopah isn't a thriving town, but come on Raleys, have you no pride in the Raleys name......sad so sad... read more

Yesterday I was traveling back home from Reno, NV with my fiancé and cousin and my fiancé (WHO IS A SUPERVISOR AT RALEYS), decided to stop so we can take a bathroom break, and since he saw Raleys he wanted to check it out. When we get in the store no one says anything to us but all the employees are staring at us. My fiancé wanted to check out the store since it was a very new store and we went in to grab a bite to eat. The lady behind the counter at the deli was very nice and helpful. After we get our food my cousin had to use the restroom so me and my fiancé are just waiting for her by the deli looking around the store because it is a really nice store! Next thing you know there is a huddle up front with some workers. I was only able to get two names (WILL & JOEL). I couldn't tell you who was who today, but the more heavy set bald guy was cashiering and he was leading whatever powwow they had up there. You can see him talking to them then all of sudden they all turn around and look but at me and my fiancé so OBVIOUSLY they were talking about us! Now, no one has said anything to us in this store the whole time we are in here but right after they all turn around one of the younger guys, some skinny kid, walks up to us and asked if we needed any help. I instantly replied no since I just witnessed this whole ordeal! After the kid left you can hear over the speaker they call for a manger to come up front! I've never been more upset about how I was treated in a store and by a company that helps to support our family! My cousin finally comes out of the restroom and we go to the register to check out. I made it a point to go to a register with a cashier so they could see my fiancé has a discount number and he works for this store also! We were met with nothing but rude and racism. When we travel we always like to go check out different Raleys to see how they look in comparison to ours and we have NEVER EVER been treated like this! My fiancé asked one guys who was the produce manager ( since that is his department) and they guy said "why?" With an attitude! Most people find it interesting that people from different cities and come in and check out the store. It's very upsetting that this happened and I hope you take this very serious!!!!!!!! read more
