I like this store. It's not "my" grocery store (I am just visiting here), but they sure did their best to make me feel like it should be! Great selection, well stocked store. Just a heads up, please don't call a teenager to schedule an interview for a job if you don't plan on following through. My teen did not receive Raley's message until the following day and immediately called the hiring manager. The hiring manager told my teen he had interviews scheduled for the rest of the week and he would call the following week to get an interview scheduled. That call never came. My teen called everyday that week and left messages for the hiring manager and his call was never returned. Finally after 10 days my teen finally connected with the hiring manager who told him he was fully staffed. I'm so disappointed with how this transpired. No professionalism here. In town for a water polo tournament and went to Raleys for sandwiches. I have shopped at Raleys for 25 plus years. This one, would not provide gluten free bread for my daughter's sandwich. They wanted me to purchase the loaf. I spoke to a manager who then informed me that they do not carry fresh gluten free bread. Well, they would be the first Raleys I have ever been in that didn't have gluten free bread. Very disappointing. read more

Store has constantly closed the sandwich counter early this year, as well as being out of certain meats and getting rid of the green leaf lettuce. I was a regular customer up until yesterday, stopped by on my way back from my Sunday job and it was closed early again. Store is overpriced and bakery isn't as good as other stores in the area, but I put up with it because it was convenient. They will no longer get any of my business. read more

Can't say I typically enjoy a shopping experience but I do enjoy shopping at Raley's. With that being said, I was extremely disappointed to see several patrons walking around not wearing a mask in order to help protect those around them from the coronavirus. Hopefully Raley's will remedy this issue and politely ask those to leave who refuse to wear a mask. Those who cannot be respectful of their neighbors should not be allowed on the premises whatsoever. read more

Uhm wow...this place is clean. They offer gloves when you're pumping gas, a huge plus! Big gas discounts if you spend at raleys. This Raley's location hires racist employees who are very rude all the time. They also hire predominately white employees, if you've ever noticed while shopping here. They don't seem happy to be there, which is okay, but don't bring your hatred for non-white people to work. I purchased a carton of organic cage-free eggs last week and hardboiled a few to eat at work. When taking a bite out of one, I was surprised to see a tiny chicken embryo inside. The embryo appeared to be at an early developmental stage (probably a few days). The eyes are clearly visible in the photo. I emailed Raleys to tell them about this incident and received an automated response asking me to go to the store to fill out an incident report. I was in Modesto for work at the time, but am no longer in the area, so this is not a practical option. It's not so much that I'm disgusted by the chicken embryo (though I bet some people would be), but rather by the complete lack of customer service relating to this issue. read more

This store has the friendliest employees! Some, like Christina, even treat you like family. The produce is always fresh, and they have a great deli / hot food section. The prices are a high, but bread and milk is always a good price. I feel safe shopping here even late at night. read more

I love this store. I'm there pretty much every day. The only complaint I have is about the old lady working in the sandwich area. My sister and I came by to get a sandwich one day and the old lady had a horrible attitude from the start. She was so rude and had the worst tone of voice. I had a simple question about the fill out form. I don't eat chicken so I asked if they had tuna and she starts to YELL at me. "The fill out form says tuna!!" BUT IT FUCKING DIDN'T. I proceed to explain to her how I doesn't and that I don't eat chicken. I'd like tuna. After going back and forth with her and I start to raise my voice (because I am now pissed off with her tone of voice) she begins to talk to me like a customer. If this store wasn't right across the street from my house, I'd never return because of her. read more

Nice clean store, has separate bakery, deli, and Peet's Coffee. The produce is very fresh. It also has a self check which I use most times. Staff is always friendly and plenty of them, I can always get help when needed.i enjoy shopping in store so you can pick out your fresh meat from the butcher dept. Some of the prices are higher at this chain but I feel safe shopping there so it's worth it to me. Today I tried to order online for delivery as I just had surgery. It was easy to use, keeps track of your orders, and you can search by dept or specific item. A nice feature that I liked was you could click on the ad items to take you to the item then add to your cart instead of it being a pdf. I ordered at 2:00 and it is being delivered by 5:30, the order got here at 4:00. read more

So if you read my last review on this lovely establishment, you'd have seen that I gave this Raley's 4 stars. The lack of one star simply due to their "rather expensive" prices. This is how they gained that fifth star last night on my way home from the gym around 6:30 p.m. Teenage Bag Boy (as he loads my 12 pack of Corona Light into my Jeep): "So am I coming over to drink this beer with you?" Me: "Well, I'm not sure my husband would be okay with that." (I say with a chuckle) Bag Boy (as he changes the subject): Man it's hot out here" Me: "Yeah it did get hot, not to mention I'm already sweaty and gross from the gym." Bag Boy: "The gym? This Raley's on Floyd is the worst ever! SO DAMN Prejudice!!!! I just left there in tears because I was so pissed . I didn't get the person that talked to me like I was an ignorant teenaged Mexican! I'm 56 I raised 3 amazing young adults one serving our country for 19 years. Who the hell does he think he is?? I asked him where the cheese was located!! He points at my bags in the cart and yells at me that next time do not bring these bags in the store, I don't want my checkers to touch the bags!!!!!!!! I work for Instacart I was shopping for three of their customers! I asked him if his checkers wore gloves he said no! I said what makes you think I want them to touch my bags???? This is where we choose to buy our produce. Among other groceries, obviously. But in an area where there are orchards and fields galore, there's a sore lack of good produce here. It's very disappointing for someone who recently came from an area where EVERYTHING was freshly available. I've tried many stores here looking for good produce, and Raley's is the only one I trust. Not only for our family, but we feed our guinea pigs and bearded dragon fresh greens, vegetables, and fruits. I've been let down purchasing them anywhere else. Among a bunch of Kale, or Dandelion Greens at any other store (if, in fact, they even carry it) we're guaranteed wilting or rotten stalks. But not at Raley's! I purchased a red pepper from Target thinking the price was right. Upon cutting it open, it was moldy inside. Lesson learned, I get all my produce at Raley's. It's very inexpensive as well, a big plus! And their customer service is definitely great! At least 2 or 3 times a visit, different employees there will ask if I am finding everything OK, or need assistance with anything. Just had a very negative experience with one of the cashiers here (he has a beard) and walked out. We will buy our nuts somewhere else. The male cashier did Not know the tare of the peanut butter 1 lb containers; while I bet they are in the register. I offered to go back and get bags for the nuts that we had; instead he left his register and went back to the bulk section to get bags himself. I've Never seen a cashier do this before. I have gone to this Raley's ever since it opened and I haven't stopped. This store is always clean and they have a wide variety of options. Their staff is very friendly and always there to help you! I have been to the pharmacy section many times before and haven't had a single problem. They are always there to answer any questions no matter how busy they are. The only downside here is that the wait-time was always long when I am picking up my prescription. read more

I love this Raleys! The staff is always top notch...very friendly & helpful. I love their E-Cart service! It's where you order your products online1 day in advance & then drive into the pick-up line which is located in the Raleys parking lot. You park there, push the button & then a Raleys staff member will bring your groceries right to the trunk of your car. Then, they come to your window to collect payment. It is so convienent!!! You never have to get out of your car. I love it because I have a 3 year old who is very active-so this has eliminated my 1 1/2 hour supermarket trips of hell trying to keep my toddler busy while I shop. "So stressful"! There is a $4.95 charge for this service, unless your order total is $100 or more, then it is FREE!!! I ALWAYS use this service when I am doing a big order! If I'm running in just for a few items then of course I do it myself. They lost 1 Star for me because sometimes their prices on items are a bit higher than other stores. They have good sales, but regular priced items are on the higher side. They have a pretty good natural foods section with alot of selection, but again on the higher priced side...I usually get these products at Trader Joe's which is across town, but much better pricing. But if I just need one of these items I know that Raleys has it & I can just run in. I love their produce dept.! It does not compare to SaveMart or Safeway, etc.. Their fruit & veggies are so fresh & stay good for a whole week! When I have purchased at some of the other supermarkets to save a few pennies I have been unsatisfied because they go bad after a couple or few days. Overall, great local supermarket! read more

This is a GREAT store! You can pick up your morning cup of coffee, do your banking, fill a prescription, rent movies, get gas, and of course buy groceries, all in one stop! Talk about convenient! Oh, you can even order your groceries online and then go pick them up at the store. They bring the groceries out to you, you don't even have to get out of your car. This is every mother of a 2 year old's dream come true! But what makes all of this even better is that the staff is helpful and friendly. I can't think of ever having one bad experience with an employee since the store opened. They go above and beyond for their customers. And the store is always clean. My husband loves to grill and tri-tip is one of his specialties. We always buy our tri-tip and other meat from Raley's because the quality is good and the meat is fresh, which makes it taste even better. Also, they have the best roast beef in their deli. I won't eat roast beef from any other store. Same thing goes for their potato salad. It's delicious! As far as the prices go, yes they are a little higher than other stores, but you can sign up to get their weekly coupons. And there's been several occasions when at least half of the items on my grocery list were on sale. The only suggestion I would make is that they lower the prices on their organic products. I have saved significantly more at Trader Joe's when it comes to buying my organic items. However, I still continue to do the rest of my shopping at this store. I used to live close to this Raley's but even though I moved and live right around the corner from another grocery store, I still continue to drive out of my way to this store. There is no Raley's where I live. My first impression of the store was that it was really clean, and the store's appearance was very organized & stocked. Well, they had what our friends needed to complete our dinner for the night. We were in and out of the store in about 5 minutes. The check out girl was friendly so can't complain about the service. My first impression regarding the prices was that Raley's seems to be more expensive than most other grocery stores. Might be because I was comparing their prices to my hometown grocery stores. Hard to believe that prices in Modesto would be so much higher than prices in Bakersfield, though. The postal drop services needs some attention. I'm almost always overcharged. The boxes have the dimensions printed on the outside, and I get an extra 3-4 inches added by the lady and the outcome shipping cost is ridiculous. The measuring tape is highly inaccurate. LOVE this grocery store! They have all the gourmet bread and is one of the only places I can find an ample selection of lamb! Its not mutton, but when your feeding a navajo in Modesto sometimes you have to substitute to meet his traditions....he..he. November 14, 2014 To Whom It May Concern: I am writing to complain about gross misconduct by someone who may be some type of store supervisor. I don't know her name but I can identify her when I see her. Should a regional manager of Raley's go to the market at Floyd and Roselle Avenues and speak to the supervisors wanting to know which one spoke to the customer regarding rain checks or five dollar Monday items regarding diet Dr Pepper, I'm sure that female supervisor will remember me. On November 10, 2014 I went to the Raley's Market at Floyd and Roselle Avenues. I went in response to your Raley's flyer advertising five dollar Monday. In the ad packs of 24 ounce Pepsi were on sale for two for five dollars. I went in with the intention of purchasing diet Dr Pepper and when I got to the shelf where the sodas were kept there was no diet Dr Pepper. Diet Dr Pepper has always been sold for the same price as Pepsi when Pepsi is on sale. I contacted a pleasant young male employee and asked him to please check and see if there were more diet Dr Pepper six-packs in the rear. He went and checked and said that there weren't any more. I asked him if I would have to go through a checkout stand to get a rain check for the diet Dr Pepper. He told me that he didn't think that you could get a rain check for five dollar Monday items. He directed me to the from the store or a young blonde female appearing to be some type of supervisor told me that they do not give rain checks for five dollar Monday items. I advised her that there was no notification in the ad that rain checks would not be provided for five dollar Monday items. I also told her that it is not the customer's problem if they don't stock enough the sale item to drop people know the store. She then told me to wait just a moment which I did. Another supervisor approached me and told me that they do not give rain checks on five dollar Monday items. I advised her that nowhere in their ad did it state there were no rain checks. I told her I had driven all the way across town to take advantage of the sale. Then she told me that the five dollar Monday items were limited to stock on hand. I told her that it did not state that in the flyer. She insisted that it did and when she looked at my flyer, she looked at the bottom and said it says we reserve the right to limit quantities. Needless to say at this point I was becoming somewhat irritated. I advised her that that meant limited quantities to customers to prevent them from coming in and cleaning the shelf out of an item. After explaining that to her she then had the audacity to tell me that they're "phasing out" diet Dr Pepper it would not be selling it. I knew she was blatantly lying to me however I didn't want to create a scene so I told her that I had purchased diet Dr Pepper in the same containers at the Raley's Market at Tully and Standiford Avenues. She then told me that each store is "different" and carries different items. Any moron could understand that are Raley's Market in a predominantly Asian neighborhood would carry more Asian products then a Raley's Market in a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood or in a predominantly white neighborhood. She expected me to believe that her Raley's Market is not caring diet Dr Pepper. She then told me that there are all kinds of regular Dr Pepper that I could take. I advised her that I am diabetic and do not drink sugared drinks. Then said I would like to have a rain check for diet Dr Pepper and she again refused stating that they do not give rain checks on five dollar Monday items. I then told her that I was going to file a complaint and requested information regarding how to contact the corporate office. She provided me with the enclosed form and I left the store. My point in writing this is to relate to you that the Flyers you put out appear to be ambiguous inasmuch as there is no mention of "No Rain Checks or Limited to Quantities on Hand" in the flyer and when a customer drives all the way across town to take advantage of the sale is then treated in a rude manner and blatantly lied to. On today's date I again returned to the Raley's Market at Floyd and Roselle Avenues. I went into the store and went to the soda section. Lo and behold when I checked right next to the six-packs of 24 ounce Pepsi I saw six-packs of 24 ounce diet Dr Pepper. Of course I knew they would be there. I took a picture of them with my phone for verification. I am a retired police officer with 27 years of law enforcement. I mentioned that, because in my chosen profession I am used to being lied to by people on a regular basis. To be lied to in a supermarket by a supervisor in order to blow me off and get rid of me is abhorrent conduct for someone who is supposed to be setting an example for other employees. My complaint may fall on deaf ears as I'm only one person making a complaint, but there will be ears in my community that will hear my complaint and the treatment a customer receiv read more

This is the closest grocery store to my parents house in Modesto. Really nice store with great customer service! Love the made to order sandwiches and ready made soups. Really addicted to the meatloaf sandwich. What's even better there is even a Peet's Coffee Kiosk at this store! Whoohoo! Lots of selection and wide aisles. I have to agree that prices are a little bit higher than a Save Mart but it's worth the convenience to have a one stop shopping place for all your grocery needs. read more
