January 2021: COVID-19 made doing anything outdoors a challenge... especially grocery shopping. Thanks to Melissa (operator 696628) at Store #340, we will return to Raley's to grocery shop. She was friendly, helpful and cheerful at the same time. ** Melissa deserves 5 stars Note: We had such bad service at Raley's in Benicia in California, that for the longest time, we avoided shopping at other Raley's stores.

I'd never been to a Raley's before my recent trip to Yosemite. My tour group stopped here so we could pick up sandwiches and last minute snacks for our adventure. The staff was pretty friendly, and their deli counter would have been busy even if we didn't add nine extra customers. Wow- what a value! $6.99 for a monster deli sandwich. I got the dagwood. We were all impressed by the size of our sandwiches. Great deal for sure and they were perfect for a quick picnic. This was also a great spot to stop to get other essentials (like bug spray and sun screen) for our trip. I also loved the assortment of single protein bars. Service was quick, some employees were nicer than others, but everyone worked together to get us back on the road quickly.

Excellent selection. Can't believe how may healthy/vegan options there were in a small town market.

Is there a Christmas tree lot at this location?

There wasn't one as of last week. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

They have a beautiful floral department so if you find yourself coming home from Yosemite and you need flowers, stop here.

They are also family and dog friendly. This night they had hotdogs grilling outside but noticed some people bringing their own food. I had the mountain lager which was recommended to me by the owner when I asked if they had sours. He said something about it being brewed like a saison so it was as if I was getting a sour and a lager and honestly I loved it. They had games here too. Everyone was friendly and it was very clean. This might just become our go to family night. So fun.

We came in on a Saturday afternoon after the river and were instantly welcomed by Oscar and his wife. The brewery has a wide selection of beers, all brewed by Oscar himself, and he was kind enough to let us sample whatever we wanted. Every beer we tried was excellent. We hung out for a while chatting with him, and even asked if he knew of a place to watch an English Premier League game the next day. The closest was in Fresno--until Oscar went above and beyond. He told us not to worry, that he would open the brewery just for us on Sunday, even though he's usually closed! The next day we showed up, and Oscar not only opened the doors but let us use our camping stove outside to make tacos. We all enjoyed them together--Oscar included! We expected to stay for about two hours but ended up staying close to five because we were having such a blast. Oscar gave us a tour of the brewery, made us feel like family in his home, gifted us a round on him, and even let us put on some music where we sang at the top of our lungs. I know this is a long review, but it's for a reason. Most breweries can feel impersonal--serve the beer and move on to the next customer. Shuteye Brewery is different. Oscar connects with people and shows, through his actions, that he truly cares about making sure you have a beautiful experience. On top of that, he's dedicated to his community, constantly doing outreach projects to give back. Simply put, the beer is great, the atmosphere is warm, and the owner is amazing. This place is a gem, and I'll be making it a must-stop every time I'm in the area.

Two trips in two days and both cashiers were about as friendly as a pet rock. Last night's guy had the shakes. Today's lady only said "would you like your receipt." The self-bagging idea is good. At least you can pack your items as you want. But. Maybe. If there was a courtesy clerk who would do it for you. Elderly couple in front of me did their own cart. Meanwhile, three associates (maybe even a manager) were living their best life near the courtesy desk. During rush hour, staff should be ready to help. Other reviews say every check stand is open. Today. Maybe 50%. Self checkout is usually a good bet, but when the line is turned and backed to past the ice cream aisle, you know it's slow going. At least the store does a great job of living up to "mountain time."
