Overall this place is probably 3.5 stars, but I gave them an extra half star because they have an awesome cabinet filled with random exotic soda's, including Cheerwine, which, as someone who lived in the south way back when, I find awesome! Where else in Reno can you get Cheerwine!! Yum! The rest of the store is nice enough. Pretty good produce selection, an ok bakery (though not as good as the Keystone Raley's) and a decent Peet's Coffee. NIce beer selection too--even had Sapporo on sale on my list visit. Score! Prices are a tad on the highish side, though not awful. Its a really nice looking store--immaculate really. You won't find a cleaner shop in Reno. One last comment--it seems (at least the last few times I've been there) that you cannot be a cashier at Raley's if you are not a hot chick. The last three times, every checkout cashier was a smokin babe. Weird. Not that I'm complaining, but this isn't the type of thing I expect at the grocery store, more like at a club or bar. But, if this is Raley's effort to enhance my shopping experience, well, consider my experience enhanced! read more

Excellent experience with the curb side pick up! Love that it was easy, fast, & I was able to get so many items!!! Really appreciate the organization of the bags and the quick easy load up! The recent remodel is finished and the store looks beautiful. I don't like the six new self checkout stations though because jobs were probably lost. I try to use a real person to ring my items unless there are long lines. Most of the time when I use the self checkout I need a human to help with the process anyway because something gets screwed up. On to their bakery... the fresh made bagels are good and I like that you can buy a single Kaiser or Dutch crunch roll. The pies at Raley's are not good, though. A couple of weeks ago, I bought a pumpkin pie and had to throw most of it away because it was flavorless and had a weird texture. I should have returned it. My Mom bought a peach pie and she said it was so bad she returned it. I don't like their donuts either. Well, I probably shouldn't be eating donuts anyway! I am disappointed with their produce because, for example, all the tomatoes come from Mexico. I prefer fruits and veggies from a more local grower, like from our neighbor California. The majority of their produce comes from Mexico. Now on to prices. Raley's is not cheap. Their prices have huge fluctuations on a day to day basis. Bagged Starbucks coffee, for example, is sometimes priced at $6.99 all the way up to $10.99. Doesn't it make more sense to have everyday low prices? They could save money on the labor it takes to change prices everyday! Also, to get a better price on wine, you have to buy six bottles. Sometimes I'd just like one bottle of wine but I won't buy it because the price for a single bottle is much higher! On the positive side, there is a Bank of America ATM inside Raley's which is very convenient. Also, Raley's has the Something Extra program, so make sure to sign up for that as they send coupons and rebates occasionally. When you checkout, you must input your phone number so your account accumulates points. I only shop at Raley's occasionally because it is the closest supermarket to my home. Though it's now a prettier store, and very convenient for me, I usually shop elsewhere. Trader Joe's here I come! read more

I feel the customer service experience has really degraded in the past few months. Here is a list of problems I have encountered: - Their inventory software is not up to date. I've used their ecart system about 20 times and not one single time was an order completely fulfilled without me getting all the items on my list. Imagine it is was the same with Amazon - like everytime you ordered on Amazon there was either an item unavailable or needing to be replaced. I've basically stopped using the ecart now. - I've not received my quarterly coupon for the past 2 quarters. Something was wrong in the system and somehow the coupons were never sent to me. Had to spend 20 minutes with their customer service line in Sacramento to get it solved. - There seems to be a constant staff turn over. Before the staff was more or less stable and the customer service was good, this is not the case anymore. For example, I am writing this review on a Monday and normally prices are adjusted on Mondays because they run a promotion on that day. Today none of the prices had been adjusted. The only thing they had done was to photocopy the Raley's weekly flyer you get in the mail and taped it on the cash registers. Really not a premier shopping experience!! Even Savemart would not do this. - A lot of the aisle/fridges are not "clean" - Pick up a milk gallon or a yogurt and look at the racks/fridges, you'll realize that they must have not be cleaned for a long time. Black residues, dust, stains are everywhere. Again not a "premier" shopping experience. Same applies to a lot of the areas, like the chicken fridges near the meat department - The racks and fridges need to be thoroughly disinfected and cleaned. Overall, I think the store could be cleaner. I 've kind of stopped going there for my weekly grocery shopping. Whole foods/Trader Joe' s are about the same price and the customer service experience is a lot better + you don't have to deal with their frequently faulty self checkout machines. read more

Awful. They barely have any organic produce and the organic food they do have is triple the price of sprouts. Out of two months of shopping at Raleys there has never been organic romaine lettuceIf. If you attempt to have a cashier check you out after 9 PM do not bother as you will be ignored and forced to check out your own groceries. read more

I love this grocery store. I am injured and unable to shop and have been using the ecart to get groceries delivered. You can also order online and they will bring them to your car in the parking lot. They always text or call if they have a substitution to ask about. This is a great, inexpensive service $5 for delivery. Really?!?! No charge for them to bring out to your car?! Really?! If you have elderly people or infirm or handicapped people in your life, they need to know about this service. Or if you are just a busy mom who doesn't want to fight a 2 yr old through the store, this Raley's is for you. Awesome greeting cards too. read more

I used to shop at the keystone Raley's but as of late I can't seem to get good meat since they replaced the butcher. Checked out this location which was a little farther and it did not disappoint. This store is absolutely massive. They have a huge liquor selection and a full service meat and fish case. The butchers there are rockstars and very helpful. My only complaint is how busy this place gets and how crowded the parking lot always is but I'll take it. read more

When we first moved up here five years ago I really enjoyed shopping here. Now they have changed their produce section to be all organic (and the prices are through the roof!) One green bell pepper for $2.99? Zucchini for $2.99/lb? Cauliflower for $3.99 a small head? I can go to WalMart, Winco, Marketon, or even in some instances Whole Foods and not pay these prices. The meat and dairy departments are not bad with their Raleys Dailys, but you really have to search out to ensure you are not over paying for common items like boneless, skinless chicken breasts and pork loin can be quite expensive versus making a trip to Costco and buying it in bulk and cutting it down to the size you want. Since we cook at home about 90% of the time i've had to search out stores in the area that offer excellent products without breaking the bank. Now when I shop it is at least a trip to three different stores to address my entire list. Raley's go back to the way you were and you'll win back more of my business. read more

Although this isn't the closest Raley's, it is my preferred store. The staff remembers me, even if I haven't been there in a few weeks. The deli manager made up some tuna salad fresh for me a few weeks ago, just because there was none in the deli case. It IS a bit on the spendy side, but the level of service and cleanliness makes up for some of the extra cost. They will sharpen your knives for you at no charge (go to the meat / seafood counter; they usually have sleeves for the knives right next to the counter). They don't do that sneaky thing with the ground beef where they hide older meat inside of fresher meat on the outside. Do keep an eye out on expiration dates for packaged foods, though. Sometimes things don't seem to get swapped out when they should. read more

Until recently, I have been pleased with Raley's. In the last month, I have found the quality of the produce and other food products to be lacking. Today I bought blackberries that I found (at home) to be already spoiling and mushy, red grapes, also soft and spoiling. We have seen other food products on the shelf that are a month beyond the expiration date. Raley's is in my neighborhood, I'd like to continue shopping there. read more

I'm a fan of Raley's. I go to the one in the Northwest. They always have a large selection of produce and the largest variety of products in their "natural foods" section. I can shop most of the time almost exclusively on the left side of the store which goes from fresh produce to the natural foods section of the store (complete with their own dairy & frozen sections) and behind that are the store's fresh meats. I really appreciate this set up because I can shop in an almost exclusive healthy store and just stroll over to the registers without having to walk by the remaining 80% of the crap that is sold in American grocery stores. My willpower wanes when I walk by a frozen ice cream or fresh loaves of bread--so the fact that the store's design does not subject me to such temptations-- I love that! Why it doesn't get 5 stars is because you will pay more, and feel it when you check out whether you get 5 items or 50, especially if you're used to WinnCo or Wally World. The wait at the registers is moderate. Nothing like the ridiculousness at Walmart, but certainly not as quick as Scolari's. They do have a rewards points program that is worth your while. Quarterly I get coupons/gift certificates to use (such as $6 off entire purchase, or free vouchers for items I buy frequently). So- sign up and swipe often! They also have a coffee bar that is a nice place to sip, hide out and get work done if you need to get out of the house and avoid starbucks. Their meats are good- lots of organic meat selections and the prices are reasonable. If I grocery shop anywhere else (usually a budget decision more than a preference) I always wait to buy my meat from Raley's. It's that worth it. Also check out the seafood/fresh cut meat sections. They prepare a good assortment of red meats, stuffed or seasoned chicken breast, etc for when you're in a rush. They also have a deli that has amazing salads and entrees. When I'm going to a potluck or "bring a dish" type of event, 50% of the time it's a fancy side salad from Raleys and it always impresses. I'll take credit, of course. read more

Although their prices are much higher, I always find what I need and I don't have to walk through miles around the store and deal with the ridiculous self-service lines. I love shopping at this Raley's, but I have started to shop elsewhere because of the condition of their parking lot. The surface is so beat up and rough that I cannot use a cart to take carbonated beverages to my car. The drinks get so shook up that they explode when I try to open them at home. read more

Reviewers M.V. and Patrick K. have it totally correct. Ultra clean smooth floors always freshly polished. Shopping carts glide and don't shimmy and shake like all the Wal-Mart baskets. Produce, especially the organics, are EXCELLENT. Rivals Whole Foods for freshness and comes close on selection. Healthy foods area also on par with Whole Foods. Sure, less variety, but all the standards are here. Meats are fine. I avoid supermarket meat, but in a pinch, I've been happy with the beef. Never bought from the seafood so I can't say. Cheese selection is pretty good, but it's been reduced a bit lately (no more Humboldt Fog guys?). I agree with other reviewers: The checkout girls here are very easy to look at. Normally we love Raleys however, to night we stoped in at 6:50 to pick up a prime rib roast I stood in front of the meat counter trying to get someone's attention but the butcher but he was on his phone with his back to me and I he just ignored me for over ten minutes finally he acknowledged me and he told be the butcher shop was closed as of 6 o'clock and that he just punched out. Outrageous! We have shopped at Raleys for over twenty years but we will go somewhere else. I refuse to give my business to people with absolutely no regard for the customer. read more

Employee I've encountered in this store has been amazing, going out of their way to help me find things or just being super friendly and sweet in general. And not creepily so or seemingly forced; just genuinely helpful and nice. Five stars for selection: I found tahini and lavash bread here! Their natural food section is the tits. Tl:dr- great grocery, great selection if your budget's not a huge concern. You can't go to a better market. The staff recognizes your face and greets you. Everyone there is helpful and will drop what they are doing to assist. Prices are higher than most supermarket chains, however the choices and service can't be beat. From a fresh deli, beer station, outstanding produce department, delicious bakery, fresh sushi station, fresh florals, and a coffee shop that is not Starbucks busy (yet better than Starbucks) Raley's cant be beat! read more

The prices are steep, but the service is excellent. 4 stars is because of the cost of goods. My first time here I met Patricia, who cashiered my sale, and she was wonderful. Kind and upbeat, a truly nice person. Turns out our hometowns in Southern California were right next to each other. She kept our conversation going yet was still quick and efficient. This grocer rings purchases a little different than I'm used to-it's not bad, just different. Instead of unloading my cart to the spinning belt, I pushed my cart right to the cashier and the cashier unloads one piece at a time as its being rung through. It takes the same amount of time, maybe even a little faster. Though the cost of goods is much higher than an Albertson's or Safeway, the service and selection is top shelf all the way. read more

Why we have switched our shopping to Smith's Reno (Kroger) and Target. * Minimum order for no-charge for curbside pickup is $35.00 rather than Raley's $100. Target has no minimum. * Can easily add items to an order already placed providing it is done before midnight for pickups the next day. Cannot do this at Raley's * Has an app to allow customer to text the store to indicate "I am on my way for curbside pickup." I then send a second text to inform the store I have arrived. The items are brought to the car with minimal wait. * Smith's sends me a text to remind me of my schedule curbside pickup. * Smith's sends me a text to notify of items not in stock for items I ordered and offers substitutions. I don't know what is out of stock at Raley's until I get home and examine what I actually picked up. * Parking spots for pickup are more clearly designated. * Smith's accepts (encourages) coupons at time of curbside pickups. * Smith's actually answers the phone at the time of pickup while at Raley's we have received message the phone mailbox is full! * Smith's has a drive-up window for pharmacy pickup. Raley's requires me to either go to the back of the store for pharmacy pickups or requires me to make an appointment to schedule an outside pickup. * When we shop at Target, there is no minimum purchase. Target's app actually tracks our car for curbside pickup after we indicate on their app we are on the way for curbside pickup. Raley's is not a Ma and Pa operation, but they seem to be stuck in the 20th century! read more

This Raley's has a fantastic selection of organic produce, and they also have a ton of vegan options like vegan cheeses and salad dressings! They have recently done a remodel of the store and some items are hard to find but the employees are super helpful in guiding you in the right direction. I love that they offer so many options for organic and local produce though, it's always super fresh. I wish the bakery had vegan options like Whole Foods offers but that doesn't stop me from shopping here. I also love their cash back points bonus program, how they send you coupons based on the items you buy, and how you can load coupons onto your something extra card online. I save a ton of money shopping in this store! They have an awesome seasonal aisle where you can find all kinds of neat things to decorate your house, wrap presents, camping supplies, and it is all reasonably priced. I bought one of the pre-made meals last night in the frig section across from the deli-veggie enchilada with mole sauce. My daughter (the only who ate it) woke up violantly throwing up after going to bed last night. I called to let them know how sick my daughter is-she is still sick- and Jesse, who I spoke with, went on to tell me it takes 16 hours to get food poisoning and it was likely from something else she ate. Get your facts right-our Doctor said food poisoning can hit within 4 hours. When I called I was just letting them know but after his horrible response to me I reported it to the health department. When I told him she is still not feeling well he expressed no sympathy-total jerk! Shame on Raley's! read more

Nice grocery store with large selection of anything you need, including lot's of organic fruit and veggies. It's a bit pricey though. Clean and not too busy. I can always find a spot close up. Have not seen anyone asking for money at the parking lot read more

I'd like to start out by saying I like this Raley's for the most part. With this said, the meat department seems to be getting worse on what is on the shelf. Came in today and only 93% ground beef to choose from. As far as whole meats, ONLY expensive cuts. The other day I wanted a cheaper cut of tri-tip. None on the shelf so the kid brought out a five pound piece of meat saying this is all the had. I used to find what I was looking for, now seems like I need to ask and wait for what I need. I just asked for 2 lbs of 80% ground beef because they didn't have it on the shelf. The guy packaged me 2-1/2 lbs. will end up wasting near because they act like I'm putting them out as it is. Really starting to dislike entering the meat department here. :( read more

I am so impressed with this Raley's. I love the organization and professional customer service. The products are so smart and of high quality. But what I love the most is the online grocery shopping; ECART! I doubt that I will ever shop any other way. I have a toddler and being able to pick out my groceries online then park in the back and pick up at a designated time is such a stress reliever. I have to add that Patricia was an absolute delight to meet, and the interaction is a huge part of why I will continue to shop excessively through this awesome feature at my favorite grocery chain, and specific location. Another fantastic Raleys. Clean floors, friendly service, lots of choices with great produce, lots of staff around to help you find weird things that aren't easy to locate. The prices are higher but you definitely get what you pay for. The meat is high quality and they have a great cheese selection. Great employees but management has no clue. The Pete's coffee bar is the most blatant evidence of incompetence. Hire a full time barista or get rid of the coffee bar. Making regular employees drop whatever task they are performing to run over and help a customer not only makes the customer feel like a jerk, it's a completely bad way of doing business. The majority of the time the customer has to stand around at the counter and wait for an employee to see them. The Starbucks I see in other grocery stores usually has at least 2 full time baristas. How Petes agreed to this is beyond me. The other huge problem is that Raleys has the most expensive wine prices BY FAR of any store in Reno. This includes all types of stores that sell alcohol. I LOVE this Raleys! However, the pricing kills me!!! But, alas, I keep shopping here! Agh. Want to know why? Because food is always super fresh with very large selection. Deli is wonderful with fresh meats and plenty of cheeses to choose from. Wine and beer selection is perfect and customer service is great! (Besides one unfriendly checker and I just avoid his line). I love this raleys and I continue to pay a premium because it saves my sanity! Going to other larger box stores (ahem.. Walmart) sends me over the edge. So it's worth the extra cash. I have been going to this store since they opened. Clean, courteous, and always have what I want and I don't feel overwhelmed by long aisles & too much merchandise. The store is set up very nicely. I also like the gas station on the property that I get a discount from buying groceries. Doug, one of the clerks, is the best. I have to watch my pennies (who doesn't) but I like the quality of what I buy here. I avoid Wal-Mart at all costs. read more
