The original grocery store in Spanish Springs. Has changed a bit with the times. However it Has not kept up competitively with the new competition. Prices are HIGH . Only go here if we need something quick. Their produce selection is fresh and they have fresh French bread at 4pm. Some premade cut fruit is available. Weekend meat specials are nice. $25 for dinner for 4. Usually enough for 2 meals. Self service checkouts are always open and easy to use. They do have a rewards program that often has digital coupons. read more

I hace been going here a long time. They are always very helpful and friendly. The prices are hit and miss. Somethings you can get a great deal on especially if you have the rewards but somethings are not competitively priced. Meat, milk, and eggs I can find better deals on but the quality is usually better as a whole as well as customer service. read more

One of my biggest pet peeves is when I go get a deli sandwich or any kind of sandwich I expect it to be cut in half I've always thought that was just the general criteria that they do well as you can see in the picture once again because this is not the first time my sandwich is not cut in half. The employees there are pretty friendly their selection is good they do have a seafood counter and a butcher area and they do have the five for $25 deal going on there with their meet and seafood which if you don't know what that is they have certain cuts of meat and seafood that is $5 a package which is really good because the meat is absolutely perfect. If you live out in the Spanish Springs area it is definitely convenient it's in the shopping center that also has Burger King and a Little smoke shop well little pot shop along with a couple of gas stations and a 7-Eleven read more

This being the nearest store to home is our local go to supermarket. Most of us are complaining about the high cost of groceries and rightfully so. You should try Save Mart. Very fair prices with an average meat department, a basic grocery section, adult beverage section, a deli and a very basic produce department. You can sign up for their app and join the rewards Club. For every $100 spent you earn 100 pts. My last visit to Save Mart I saved $15. Through their app and rewards program, I had earned over 500 points. Five hundred points was converted to $5 off qualifying food items. In addition on my last visit, that weekend they would knock off $10 off my bill if I purchased $50 or more in groceries. My total bill for $67.09 came to a grand total of $52.09. You too can take advantage of Save Mart's reward system and save money. What inflation? read more

I went to Savemart for a few things today. The customer service was appalling. There was a check stand that appeared to be open (light was on), but nobody was there. There was another check stand where an employee was checking a gentleman out, but the light was not on. After standing at the check stand with the light on for a few minutes, the employee at the other check stand indicated to me he would be right there. Ok, great! I unloaded my cart. He finished checking out the customer he was helping, then just stood there. Another customer with a full cart asked if he was open to which he replied yes and started to check him out. Meanwhile I am still waiting at the other check stand. Another customer got in line with me and I told her I wasn't sure the check stand was open. I mentioned what the employee had said and how he started checking out someone else. The employee then said the other cashier had gone to the restroom and he didn't have her password. I could have used that information earlier...though I suppose he expected her to be back soon. I mentioned he should turn on his light so people know he is open. He started to argue with me, but just mumbled under his breath. The other cashier returned after he paged her, and he told her she forgot to turn off her light. She checked me out without saying one word until the end when she said to have a nice day. She was also a bit rough with my groceries, but no harm, no foul. This is why I shop at Trader Joe's. Not only are they cheaper, the staff go out of their way to be helpful. Someone standing in line? They open another check stand. They will ask if you need help while shopping. Too many other things to mention here. Their customer service is top notch. This isn't the first time I have had horrible customer service at this store. It is convenient, but I have tried to avoid going here as much as possible because of these types of experiences. read more

I've been shopping here for years but the last year it has really gone down hill. I cannot afford to do my weekly shopping there so it has become a quick stop for last minute items or special things I cannot find elsewhere. But today is a good example of why I don't even want to go into the store anymore. I just wasted $9 on a quart of Dreyers ice cream. Got it home and the carton felt funny. Opened it up and ice crystals everywhere, there is spots of ice cream missing. It looks like it melted and refroze. I also came to buy Model Dairy cottage cheese and the only tub left expired 6 days ago. When was the last time you checked your shelves? So frustrating and sad really. read more

Let me just shout out to some of the great workers here that are amazing ANNE, WENDY, VANESSA and ELIZABETH in deli !! They are the reason I keep coming back to this store. The Kudo's are long over due. I don't shop here as often as I used to. 10/05/17 My husband and I came to get a few items for dinner. We had some produce items but decided to do self check out any way. I always seem to have problems at the self check out here if I have produce. Anyway there was a cashier standing by to help those with issues. He seemed put out and annoyed when he had to help us. There were multiple times the self check machine told us to get a clerk. He seemed to get more and more exasperated as it went off again and again. But rather than say or act as if it was the machine's fault he acted, treated and spoke to us as if we were stupid. I must say this is poor customer service. Even if he felt that way he should have in no way allowed the customer to feel that way. I was so disenchanted with his treatment that I turned around and saw Anne. I asked her if I could speak to a supervisor. I didn't know she was a supervisor. So I spoke with her about our ordeal. She dealt with it in such friendly and professional way that I am giving 4 stars because of Anne. Employee harrassed me and used foul language toward me on April 3, 2020 it was caught on video. Talked to three managers and they did nothing about this incident. Will be reporting to local authority, news stations and radio stations. Cashier asked me what kind of bags I wanted. I said paper and plastic. Employee Nonda standing behind me said I was rude. I dont say please and thank you. I said does every customer say please or thank you. Why are you picking on me ? Employee Nonda went on to lecture me about manners for a long time. All of this were caught on video. Is there a sign on front door of savemart that says every customer need to say please and thank you OR we will harass and lecture you ??? I looked at the two dozen eggs she had in the check out lTold her SaveMart sign says one dozen per customer. This is during the Pandemic and there are signs everywhere about limits on eggs. Employee Nonda then went off on me like a crazed person and called me Motherfucker. NOW there is a sign at Savemart that says every customer is limit to one dozen eggs. Employee Nonda works at savemart. It is rude for her to not follow savemart rules when there is a sign !!! Talked to three managers at SaveMart. They wont do anything about it. If you want to be harassed and have SaveMart employee called you names. Managers will do absolutely nothing about it. Then this is the store to go !!! Yes. I am chinese and PROUD of it. Will be sharing the story with local authority, news station and radio stations WAIT. Savemart corporate will not discipline the employee that harassed me. If life is a reflection then it begs us to ask how did I treat that person to get that response back. So this begs the question how did you and how are we all treating those people of our community who are serving us everyday, through these scary and difficult times? Although Savemart has done a good job trying to provide essential services and protection for their customers, they can only do it with the employees who come back day after day. This grocery store is located on pyramid hwy, and la posada in Spanish springs. The parking lot is huge and it is never a problem finding a space. The store is clean and well lit. It got a facelift when savemart took over Albertsons. I really like this store because it isn't crammed full of merchandise and you have to dodge endcaps full of whatever at the end of every isle. Like I said before, the store is clean, which is huge. The staff are friendly and helpful. There selection of produce and meat is also good. I am upgrading my review to Four Stars, because I've noticed more organic produce, and the produce looks better overall. This store is clean, and the aisles are pretty wide. The restrooms, parking, and lighting are all good. The staff folks are nice. My only complaint is that some items in the bakery do not seem very fresh. 4.5 stars. This store has been making significant improvements in the past few months. It was at the bottom level of mediocre when we moved from DC 2 years ago. One could say I was a bit spoiled & jaded, having lived in Hong Kong, NYC & DC for decades, replete with amazing restaurants & grocery stores within a 2-mile radius from home. Recently, I've been increasingly satisfied with their produce, often on par with or better than Whole Foods. The meats have improved markedly as well, good quality & well-priced with an ample selection, though the more exotic/unusual cuts are not available. For instance, it would necessitate a trip to Safeway or a butcher shop if I want beef shanks or ox tail. I was overjoyed that they now have a machine that slices meat to the perfect thinness for stir-frying (I ask them to slice it on setting #4), you still have to do some additional slicing, but Save Mart's miraculous slicer cuts (pun intended) the work down by 80%. I cook a lot more stir-fry now. It is always clean & well-organized, with good service. Give them a second chance if you've previously written them off, you should be pleased. The only reason I noticed the store's uptrend is because we frequently stop in for incidental items because of its proximity to my house. read more

They have a sale on Crab in their ad today. I Drove 5 miles and went inside to the butcher area. No Crab. I asked and was told they did not have any crab, did not buy any crab and will not have any crab. I said but you have it in your ad. I was told the ad didn't matter they are not getting any crab. Very nice person who was obviously frustrated with crab questions. For me it's very simple, if they think I going to drive 5 miles only to find out they aren't going to honor their own ad, I'll never shop there again, just to many other places to shop a lot closer to home. Plus, there is a bigger store that you have to drive past to get to Save Mart. read more

Was in today. A large woman rang me up. 6 items. I asked her to punch in my phone number. She said I had to do it myself. So being 70 with poor vision, I asked my wife to find ne glasses in her pocketbook. The cashier waited while she dug them out and I put the glasses on and punched in the number I then put in my credit card and left. Maybe someone can train her to punch in the number upon request. This store is close to where I live and the only grocery store in my immediate area so I shop here pretty frequently. The shopping experience is usually OK. Their produce selection is usually pretty nice and fairly priced. I love the selection in their bakery department with their muffins, chocolate dipped cookies, and cakes being my favorites. Their deli is nice, but the selection rarely changes so if you shop there frequently it does get boring. They do make a delicious roast beef sandwich with a horseradish sauce called Kickin' Roast Beef though. There is a small problem with items being stocked on the shelves at times. I also feel some items in this store are overpriced especially toiletry/beauty items. The store has recently gone through some upgrades. They added a soup bar, a place to sit and eat deli purchases, and instead of the traditional meat and seafood department they offer a grill where you can get grilled chicken, ribs, tri-tip, steaks, etc. This area also has daily specials. The hamburgers are good, but the tri-tip tacos and sandwiches are my favorites. They have a nice liquor department with a huge selection of wine. The pet supplies aisle is small, but in a pinch I can always find dog or cat food and other supplies for my pets. The cashiers are nice even though I will say some can be pretty unprofessional. Only ever had one issue that made me want to stop shopping here. I was sick and stopped in for medicine, Gatorade, soup, etc. The young man bagging my groceries was talking to the customer in front of me and put my bags in his cart. I did not realize this until I asked for my things. He ran after the prior customer to retrieve my things twice as he did not get them all the first time. He seemed to find it funny. I not feeling well did not see the humor in the situation. The store manager cared enough to call me when I complained so I let it drop there. The number one reason for my low rating is the pharmacy. I recently gave them another try after many frustrating experiences with them in years past. Nothing has changed. The staff is rude and apathetic. Their lack of communication is my main complaint. Prescriptions are not ready when expected with no communication from them. They blame the doctor. As of this review I am still waiting on a medication I originally requested weeks ago. I found out they faxed the refill request to the wrong doctor, but even after the correction I still don't have the medication. At 7pm on a Friday night, I went to pick up my insulin (Type 1 diabetic) refill that was requested a week in advance. I spoke to my doctor's office that assured me they had sent them a new prescription. It was not ready, and they said the doctor had sent them nothing. I normally have no issues with my doctor approving my medication refills. I was out of insulin. They suggested urgent care of which most locations are closed at 7pm. Again, no communication from the pharmacy. My prior pharmacy (which no longer takes my insurance) helped me out by selling me enough from an existing prescription they still had on file to get me by until I could reach my doctor. At $126 for one insulin pen versus $25 per box of five pens it was not a pleasant experience. I will be switching pharmacies for sure. read more

Living in Spanish Springs, Savemart is a very convenient store to go to. The store always has good parking and the spaces aren't super small. The store is very clean. The deli is nicely prices and tastes wonderfully. The bakery makes delicious doughnuts and personalized cakes. They make them there in the store. The produce is pretty good and fresh. They do get a little pricy. My favorite part about Savemart is the meat. The meat from the butcher is amazing at they have good prices. They have peppered bacon that is to die for. Their hamburger meat is also equally as good and they have low fat options. I never wait in line very long. They always have 3ish checkers open and they also have the self check outs. This is a good store to get in, get what you want, and get out. One tip: Go there around 3-4 p.m. and the bakery will have just made fresh warm bread. Yum! If the store was less expensive, I would give them 5 stars. Compared to other stores in the area, they are great. read more

Very concerning since this omicron is on the rise and the market doesn't follow state policy. If they can't enforce this simple state policy, imagine how well their policy is in there deli. This place! There's a reason I spend a little more to shop Raleys. I went in just to get a few pumpkins. Went up to the self check out and a female employee was leaning against one of the machines and I asked her if I could pay for the pumpkins there. She didn't even look at me, simply nodded her expressionless face. The scan wasn't working and the machine beeped at me a couple times. She never moved a muscle to offer assistance. So I walked away and used a checker. The store is dark and dirty and I'll never ever set foot in there again. The gal at self checkout (oct 1 at around 11:30) should not be in a service related position. It's obvious she doesn't like her job and doesn't seem to like people all that much either. read more

This place is on the corner of Pyramid and Los Alamitos. It's a very cute, little, convenient grocery store stocked with fresh goodies. Also very clean and organized. It's not pineapple season right now, but when it was, they had a good deal and I would buy 3-4 pineapples a week and munch them down all on my own. yumm! read more

This place has the most terrible customer service, it's 9pm store empty with barely anyone inside I went to self checkout. Minding my own business tying my bags off so nothing falls out when I put them in the car and this rude old woman, didn't get her name but brown curly hair, comes up randomly and rudely says, "Did you not see the sign 15 items or less" then she starts grabbing items out of my cart and slamming them on the side of the machine mumbling about how I guess she'll clear it. Clear what? There was nothing to clear or no reason for her to come treat me like that and grab items out of my cart. Not coming back here, going to Raleys or Walmart from now on. Hopefully the manager can get her attitude under control before she does that to someone else that's having a bad day and checks her. read more

I usually love this store, and used to live close by. I'd overall give it 5 stars but my recent visit on 6/2 left me with a terrible impression. While I was check out with a clerk by the name of Charlette she was extremely rude. I went to try to enter my phone number and the option disappeared from the screen, I asked if I could enter it before paying and she just started at me. I assumed since it wasn't appearing on the screen she wanted me to provide my number to her. I started with my area code and she gave me this look like I had stated the obvious because she has already entered it. I asked if I had mentioned if I asked for ice and she simply said no, no offer to add it onto the purchase before I swiped my card. Terrible customer service from this one individual only. read more

2 people working in the Meat dept. on Sat. May 16th at 5pm I need a piece of meat tenderized and the young man said ok and took it in the back and then came out and said the meat cutter couldn't do it because they had just cleaned the tenderizer. I have worked 40 yrs. in the food business and never heard of equipment being cleaned that early. I love the produce dept. at this market the people working here do a wonderful job. I had about a small cart full of produce, about 40-50 dollars worth and a gallon of milk and put it all back on the shelves and went to Smiths who was glad to tenderize my steaks. I should have went directly to the keyman in charge but I was already in a rush and needed to go. I shop at this store 4x a week after work. Shopping at this store is always a pleasure. I really like the fact that they always have plenty of cashiers to get me out quickly. Key word CASHIERS, not self service registers. I feel very strongly against using those machines. I shop at this store as it is nearby and convenient, I usually find what I am looking for here and if I don't I make a trip to Rayleys instead for a more diverse selection of my own special needs but not very often. I never have a problem at this store, I have gotten to know some of the store employees and know that everyone has an off day, but everyone is as friendly as they can be. I strongly suggest the manager at the Sparks store work with their checkers on customer service. When I went to pay for my groceries, I was not acknowledged by the checker in any form. When I finished the transaction I said thank you. Again, I was not acknowledged in any form - no thank you, no you're welcome, no nothing. The first thing customer service employees should learn is that, without the customer, they do not have a job. There are many other stores from which to choose, therefore, a customer should never leave the check out line without the clerk saying 'thank you'. read more
