Today I went in for a fried lovers burger combo with xl fries and a strawberry shake. Got a chocolate shake instead. Not sure if the employee mentioned it (she was talking like 20 words per second). I was just agreeing with her. The shake is still underwhelming small. I asked for a large. Fries were pretty cold, shake was pretty melted but luckily the taste is still good. We used to dine at Rally's often when we were a young struggling family. It was good and affordable. I went today 2/21/26. It was so horrible I couldn't finish it. The fries were cold and limp. The oil they were fried in tasted old. The burger was gross. I asked for a cheeseburger and I got a cold hamburger with brown lettuce and iced cold cheese slapped on there, like an afterthought. Disgusting. I took two bites and tossed it. Not fit for human consumption. The fish sandwiches were nasty too. The tacos were so salty, we threw them out. A waste of $9.00. Rally's has a surprisingly tasty menu and something for everyone. I've been here a few times and it's your typical Rally Burger. The service is OK, but nothing special. It gets pretty annoying when you have repeat yourself 10x to get your order taken. This has happened a couple of times to me. The ambiance is something else. At night, the place gets dangerous as there are a number of homeless people congregating in the parking lot. I have never been here one time when I didn't see at least one homeless person. All good if people are minding their own business, but every time I've been here I've been hit up for cash or cigarettes. The ownership may want to consider placing a security guard in the parking lot or using the police more effectively to curb loitering. If you swing through here, just lock your doors and don't go here too late at night. read more

Rally's is a small hidden gem, with not too many around SD.. you have to go deep into Escondido to find this oldie, but goodie fast food chain. This location is near Ash and East Valley Pkwy and is your typical Rally's/Checker's.. with it's small spot posted up with drive-thru and outdoor seating with a walk-up window. There is a wide array of options for your salty tooth and sweet tooth as well. ;D My order usually consists of: All American Cheeseburger, BLT, and Fries. The burgers beef are well seasoned, the BLT is hit or mess with their generosity of bacon although lately I've gotten more pieces in it, and the seasoned fries here are the best! 2 things that remain consistent throughout all Rallys restaurants, 1. great fries 2. rude as hell cashiers. Its baffling the night and day difference between a fast food spot like Chick-fil-a and a bottom barrel spot like this. I go to Rallys a few times a year. I think this is why I always enjoy it and it hasn't goten old to me. The locations are always in a slightly sketchy spot but I dont mind. The food is good. Not amazing but good. The fries are seasoned well like cajun style with a good crisp taste. The burgers are really just your average burger (no better than Mcdonalds). You get a large size drink when you order a meal without having to supersize which is awesome. They have a very tasty sweet tea here. The prices are decent too. I think Rallys is worth trying out at least once but dont get your hopes up. Its fast food with a good taste. read more

I am quite disappointed. I have been eating at Rally's since a wee lad of the 90s, but no more. If an order is prepaid and placed online in advance, your food will not be prepared until the recipient arrives for food pick-up; thereby invalidating the prepay process. In that instance, your order is made at the discretion of the manager on duty, which is then be placed at the bottom of concern. tl;dr: Make your order in person, because online orders will be ignored until you have arrived for pick-up. read more

An oldie, but a goodie. This place always hits me in the nostalgia. They have the best fries, ever. Ever. Ever. Crispy, tender in the middle and piping hot, just how I like my fry. I can down these Fries sans ketchup or doused, but I still prefer ketchup to the side and individually oozed on to each individual fry. They have the best seasoned fries this side of the Mississippi. So, they have this Philly cheese steak. It's beyond A-A-A-Ah-mazing. I'm always smiling all over North County after one of these stacked meat loaded bad boys of bun heaven. I give this place four stars because it has the best seasoned fries ever. They're just delicious! The burgers aren't too bad either & the prices are pretty good too. In my opinion this joint is way better than the McDonald's that's across the street. If you like buffalo wings, you should definetely try theirs, I love the angry buffalo flavor, very spicy but that's how I enjoy my food. The only thing I don't like about the food is how greasy everything is, but then again that's probably why it taste so damn good :/ haha! There was a Rally's / Checker's in Austin for a coupla years, a long time ago now. It didn't catch on, I guess, so it's just a memory now. Rally's and Checker's, of course, are basically the same company, and have the same menu. The name's just different, depending on where you live. But there's one here in Escondido! There's a Rally's within walking distance of where I stay here. Rally's used to be more of a "basic" burger place, and they were really good when they were just that. But over the years, they've "filled-out" their menu considerably. You can still get a cheap burger for a buck or so, and they're BETTER than a McDonald's "Value" burger; BTW, McDonald's just announced yesterday that the prices are going UP on the Value items. Between that fact, the fact that Rally's makes a BETTER BURGER, and well, the fact that the ONLY McDonald's in Escondido (right across the street from Rally's) burned down a couple of years ago, the Rally's here seems to do a resounding business. I know they get plenty of MINE. Might've been a factor in the apparent decision by the local McDonald's franchisee to NOT REBUILD. I don't know, just speculating... Rally's is TRYING TO BE an inexpensive burger joint that makes a quality product. And I can't write a review of Rally's without mentioning their FRENCH FRIES. They are my ABSOLUTE FAVORITES among all other fries! And even though I can't get a Rally Burger in Austin anymore, Wal*Mart DOES carry the fries, in the frozen food section. Ya think I've maybe got a bag or two in the freezer? Of course, at Rally's you can get them "naked" or fully LOADED. Wings too, and other specialty items, such as a Philly Burger. The one possible disadvantage is that there's no indoor dining area, so if it's too cold, hot, or breezy, it's better to grab and go home. Climate's obviously NOT a problem in San Diego County; you can eat outside most of the time. But it probably has an effect on business in areas where there's more inclement weather than Southern California. Could've been a factor in Austin? I dunno...
