I drove in at about 5:45pm more than one hour before closing, and as soon as I was seen by one of the employees he started angrily shaking his head and saying stuff to the guy who serviced my car. He quickly walked away into a room and didn't come back until my car was done I believe. I am not sure if this is just how this shop operates but I was surprised when I was called after my car was done and he didn't verify the oil level with me and all of the other services he marked off on the checklist. I wouldn't have even known that he had conducted other checks on my car if I had not asked for the invoice. The final red flag for me was that when I drove off my air tire light was on and it wasn't on before, I didn't turn back around just because of how uncomfortable I felt with how I was treated and I inspected my tires somewhere else. I understand how annoying it is to deal with people on the last few hours of your shift but god forbid I have to get an oil change after my 9-5.

They were. When my wife had her oil changed, they noted that the left front strut was going bad, which I knew to be true. They could have said, "You need new struts" (meaning 4), but they didn't. They told my wife, "Only the front left one is bad, but you really want to replace them in pairs" - which is true. I don't know if all Midas shops are this good, but the one on Roosevelt Ave in Wheaton is.

Nowhere is there a stipulation that tire rotations are only performed if needed. I rotate the tires to prevent uneven wear, not to stop it when uneven wear already appears. It is disappointing that Midas has chosen to not fulfill the offer of the coupon. Either remove the offer of a rotation, or clearly state it is only performed if need.

I ended up paying for more than I'd anticipated (I needed an cabin filter as well), but the money was well spent, to say nothing of the peace of mind I had thereafter. When my regular mechanic closed, I thought I would give here a try to replace my spark plugs…read more Good: Quick-ish service (see "Bad"), clear about costs (when asked), no more misfiring spark plugs. Bad: They didn't have the spark plugs in stock, despite me having made an appointment ahead of time. Ugly: I paid and went out to my car, which would not start. Not even an attempt of starting. They had informed me that my battery tested poorly, which I passed on because it's from 2024 and still in warranty. I pulled out my jump kit and attempted to jump the car. No life. I go back in and tell them the situation. Three of them go out to look and get it started. When I asked what the issue was, they again told me it was a bad battery and offered to swap it out, which I again declined. I took the battery to the store I bought it and they tested it at 95%, not poor enough to get a warranty replacement. It's been a few days now and the car has started without issue. Conclusion: I don't know what they forgot to connect that my car wouldn't start but trying to pass it off as a bad battery is dishonest. I will not be returning to Firestone.

A couple of hours later, I received a phone call from Scott letting me know that the piece of metal hadn't actually punctured the tire, and they couldn't find any spot where it was leaking air. Scott suggested keeping the tire overnight to double-check, and I agreed. The next morning, he let me know that the tire had held air perfectly and was safe to reinstall. We still don't know what caused the sudden pressure drop, but I've been driving on the tire for a couple of weeks now without any issues. What really stood out was the level of customer service. Scott and his team kept me updated every step of the way, made sure the tire was truly safe before putting it back on, and even followed up a few days later to check how everything was going.
