I called his auto shop regarding the dashboard lights of my 2008 Honda Civic were too dim when headlights were turned on. The shop owner replied that it most likely was caused by the faulty alternator and he urged me to come in immedieatly, because I could be stranded in the middle of the road. After performing some tests on the alternator, he said it wasn't the alternator, it was the battery and it needed to be replaced. I was thinking the battery seemed to be healthy and it starts very quickly and powerfully, but since it caused the dashboard light not to work properly, I agreed to have it replaced. He put in a $235 battery because he said I needed a better battery. Well, as I was driving it home, the dashboard lights were still dim, they were so dangerously dim I couldn't see the gas gauge. I will go to another repair shop to fix the dashboard lights, because I will never go back to this shop, and I was thinking how lucky I was to have found a honest and good car repair shop for life. Last year my husband & I needed to replace the clutch, and TJ Auto was the cheapest option with the best reputation. They showed us the old parts and explained what was wrong with them and why they needed to be replaced, and did a great job with the work. A few months later we went in because our car was making strange noises, and had them check it out. They explained it was the padding wearing away on some part, and that it wasn't necessary to change it and it would be very expensive to do so. Didn't charge us for taking a look, and didn't try to talk us into spending money! We definitely appreciate the honesty. Now, we always get our oil changed here. They are very fast--dropped it off at lunch during a weekday and it was done in half an hour even though they had a lot full of cars. Definitely impressed with their work! My car was leaking coolant and the likely culprit was the radiator. A gearhead friend of mine checked the prices of parts and TJ Auto replaced them for right around the same price. The cost or everything was incredibly fair. Two months later: my car is hemorrhaging coolant. I was constantly refilling it until I took it back to TJ Auto. He found that there was a defective part on the radiator and replaced it for free, no questions asked. I will definitely be going back to TJ Auto. read more

I have been using TJ for several years for a lot of different things and vehicles, including Jeep, VW and Audi. Services have ranged from oil changes, brakes, tires and other general maintenance. Just today, I brought my car in for an oil change and asked TJ to check a rattling noise I was hearing in the rear. He told me it was a muffler hangar and that he fixed it for $50, TJ knows I don't ever really question him and he could have certainly charged me a lot more or told me it was something else - I thought it might be the suspension. I always find them to be straight with me and friendly. Hours can be a bit sketchy at times, but not a big deal. Lots of experiences and have referred TJ to many friends and relatives - all positive feedback. read more

I am uncertain where all of these reviews are coming from. I am assuming family members. I have been to this place 4 times and I have only had 1 good experience and that was the first time. They have supposedly fix things on my car and I had t come back multiple times because it was not done correctly. In addition to that they are suppose to open at 8 and sometimes to not get there until 10 and people are outside waiting. I went to this place because of the reviews and I lost a lot of money. In addition to that, they will set up appointments with you and turn you away when you arrive. read more

This place is fair, quality, and affordable! They replaced my rotors for me quickly and at the best price around. I was warned that my back calipers potentially needed to be replaced as well, but once he took a look at them he cleaned them off and oiled them up and they ended up being fine. A perfect situation where he could have told me/charged me for a replacement ($200), and I wouldn't have known, but didn't. TJ Auto are the best. I only found them over a year ago, and I am sorry I didn't find them sooner. They would have save me lots of headaches. Not only do they charge below other repair shops, they also know what they are doing, which not always true of other mechanics. What I also love about them is their complete honesty and respect. They never talked down to me because I am a female, which I sometimes had to deal with other mechanics. They always fit me in their busy schedule when I had some serious problems with the ignition coils and brakes, among other things. They did wonders on my 2003 Toyota Corolla. It now has almost 200,000 miles on it. I just had to sell it this week because I drive a lot and got an excellent deal on a new car. Otherwise, they would have kept my car running well for a long time.I highly recommend them. I will return to them after the warranty on my new car expires. read more
