Okay so i go here all the time and for that reason, i did not want to leave a review about this absolutely bizarre experience i had. But then i saw another review that was almost the same as my experience. I go all the time - and I always get the same thing. A pint with half lemon, half rainbow. It's about $10 ish and it lasts me all week. So one day I go and there is this young female employee. I get the order and go home. After dinner I go to have an ice and realize it's wrong. It's half lemon and this spicy red something. So i dig around to see if there's any blue in the red (maybe it's a weird batch) or if it's the wrong ice. I never find any blue, so i bring it back and ask for it to be remade. The girl is still working. She opens the pint and sees i dug around in it. She said they can't remake it because i "basically ate the entire thing." I'm baffled because it clearly is not almost entirely eaten. Another employee steps in and says no problem & remakes it. While the other employee remakes it, the girl continues verbally chastising me?? She said well next time we're not remaking it and you have to pay for it. I'm like next time??? She said yeah because the container is basically empty. I ask her to lift up the container (that is basically full) and she does and i said "does that look basically empty to you?" And she goes well ice melts. At this point I'm actually baffled because why is a teenager trying to fight with me over an ice??? The other employee comes back and gives me the correct ice and says sorry about that have a good day. I take it and leave- while this teenager is glaring at me! It was an absolutely bizarre experience. The next time i went back & that girl was working, she messed up my order again! I asked her to remake it. She said no and started slamming things around in the back. Another girl came and made the correct order. Again, just a bizarre reaction to mistakes in food service. Every girl (besides the one blonde teenager) is lovely and friendly. I started writing my orders down, but somehow the blonde girl still helps me & messes my order up. (I have a big family, sometimes i order 3-4 ices at a time). It's absolutely bizarre because I'm almost 30 & simply not going to verbally fight with a teenager, but she seems to really want an extreme reaction from the customer. Now i go to the stony Brook one, which is out of the way, but its better than having a child try to provoke a verbal altercation over a dessert??? Bizarre is the only way i can describe it. But all the other girls who work at this location are sweet and don't make mistakes, so don't let one employee effect the loveliness of the rest of the girls. I rate my experience with the blond kid 1/5 stars. But giving 3 because the rest of the staff is lovely read more

this ralph's has been here for a long time. no complaints about the food or service, those have always been great and the location itself is kept very clean. my only gripe is the prices have really soared the past year or two. almost 6 dollars for a small ice now is crazy. read more

Just wanted to write a post about Ralphs Italian Ice in Lake Ronkonkoma on Portion Rd. The young girl yoi have working there is so rude! I have never experience this in my life. Went last night at 10pm with my boys. Ordered there ice cream then mine we all ordered hard ice cream flavors. I then wanted to order an acai bowl to go since they have two huge posters advertising them. The girl was so nasty and says nope we dont have them there sorry (all while smiling rudely) i say ok, pay and sit down. When i eat a bite of my ice cream I realize she gave me an ice rather than hard ice cream. I wait on line again behind these ladies that took a long time so now my kids are finished with their ice cream. I explain I had wanted hard ice cream and was given an ice. She said so rudely you didnt specify or say that you wanted that so you automatically got an ice. I was like my kids all got hard ice cream we all ordered it. She was like no you need to say it. Now im taken aback because shes so mean about it. I ask politely if they can switch it out. She asks me if I ate it(clearly i havent i took one bite and realized it was wrong) and then says if I wanted the hard ice cream id have to pay for it. I was like excuse me? Thats insane now at this point my boys are done and want to go home so im annoyed and ask for a refund at this point they say nope we dont do refunds. I ask for a manager at this point because this is CRAZY! They the. The girl next to this employee tells her to just remake it and then she gives it to me with the wrong topping!! She then asks me to throw out the one I had that i left on the counter. I have never encountered staff that made me feel that way! I am never one to speak up or ask for management or even leave a review but I was in shock! Will never go back to this location ever!!! read more

Summer fast approaching, warmer weather upon us what better way to cool off and hitting up Ralph's Ices! It's been quite some time since I've been here and was glad to see so many flavor additions to their menu. The girl at the counter was helpful and patient while we perused the choices and was also very helpful. So many options, can't go wrong. The outside seating area is not that large, and the noise from the busy street does not make for much enjoyable sitting, but order and go works for my family! Happy Summer everyone! read more

Temptation is a dangerous thing. Sometimes you do everything in your power not to give into it and other times it's too much to overcome. For me, I'm tempted to give Ralph's of Lake Ronkonkoma three stars, but you already saw that I went with four. So why the temptation? Well it's not from the ices themselves. I mean it's tough to ruin Ralph's because it's so consistently wonderful and creamy and amazing and any other adjective that could be used to describe it. I'd also say it's not the lack of flavor choices as they have had plenty of pumpkin pie ice (one of the best seasonal ones out there), and we haven't run into any sold out options (at least not yet). I'd also give their setup a thumbs up. It's nothing amazing, but they have a few tables with umbrellas and a space that nicely separates itself from Portion Road. Also the giant Adirondack chair is kinda cool too. And I can't lower my score due to pricing either. I mean Ralph's definitely isn't as cheap as it used to be, but it's still pretty reasonable for what you get. So why the tempted three star review? Slow service. I feel bad saying this because the people who work here seem to be friendly enough, but of all the Ralph's I've been to, they just seem to move at a snail's pace. My fiancée had an issue where things just took forever for her to finally come home with ices (I thought maybe she got lost), and when I was here with my fiancée a different time, it took us forever just to order our two medium pumpkin ices. Last night was the third strike when it took way too long for them to give ices to one woman while I was standing in the rain. I'll say it probably doesn't help that it often seems like only one or two people are working each time we've been, but I'm not sure how they staff the place. It's just discouraging to know that when there's a line, things are gonna take time. Overall, I'll take this piece and consider it an unfortunate (but not unfixable) part of Ralph's of Lake Ronkonkoma and make a 3 1/2 star feel a full four. The place is still nice, the ices are still amazing, and it's so close to my house that I can't see myself going to any other location other than here...even if I might be just a little tempted to do it. read more

Ice cream was good, they didn't have medium cups so I had to get a small or a large: weird. I asked her for cookie dough and cake batter (i mistakenly said it) and she said in a passive aggressive tone; "it's birthday cake NOT cake batter acutally". There is nothing like some ice cold Ralph's ices on a really hot day. Not too adventurous when it comes to flavors. I like lemon and chocolate, Although I do occasionally go crazy and get some cappuccino or pina colada. On a hot day, You can be sure there is always a huge line. The staff is great and they go thru the line ofcustomers real quick. There is more than enough flavors too choose from for even the most discriminating taste. So many terrific water ice flavors! Perfect on a warm summer day. When we were on our way to the supermarket we saw this location and made a bee-line for it. This small outpost of Ralph's Famous Italian Ices also shares the space with a Ralph Rottens Nut Pound so if you want even more snacks to go along with your ice such as candies and nuts this is all way too convenient. Get in on the BEETUS! No inside seating but a table and a few benches in the front. It's basically a walk-up window in an old stand alone store with a few friendly kids working it. The amount of water ice and creme ices they have here on selection is mind boggling. About 30 flavors of water ice, and they even carry sugar free options. Blue Hawaii, Bubblegum, Cotton Candy, Grape, Sour Cherry, Root Beer, and so many others to discover. One day I will conquer the whole menu! What is even better are that the water ices are a low cal - low fat treat. It's an icy cold snack that is almost guilt free! They also have a large selection of creme ices to choose from! Wowee-Wow! Apple Crumb, Birthday Cake, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, Jelly Ring, Crazy Coconut, Cinnamon Roll, Toasted Marshmallow, Spumoni, Orange & Creme, Peanut Butter Fluff, and so many more! Ralph's is one of my favorite places to go to in the summer. Ice + ice cream = cream ice = the perfect hybrid. When I was growing up, I would come here every week and try a new flavor. My most favorite is birthday cake. It has pieces of frosting and sprinkles swirled in it. I would start and end the season with a birthday cake cream ice. Other fantastic cream ices are cinnamon roll, black cherry cheese cake, and carrot cake. Definitely get a birthday cake shake. I really do love their ices but the location in Ronkonkoma is not sanitary. The young women who work there do not cover their noses with masks. There are signs posted all over saying customers have to wear masks, yet the owner and the workers do not think this applies to them. I have emailed the owner directly, no response. I went again this a Tuesday to see if they improved anything--no! The girls working don't wear masks covering their nose and mouth and their masks are very loose fitting. This makes me question how sanitary their procedures are if they can't follow state regulations. read more

I'm so disappointed right now!!! I love açaí bowls and the other day i tried one from this location and it was sooooo goood !!! I was craving one today, so we ordered two with peanut butter and it was SO DRAMATICALLY different then last i got so annoyed i had to come and wrote a review ... the açaí was too frozen like little ice pellets and the fruit was barely even in there .. the slopped the peanut butter on top .. so it wasn't like blended in ... it was just such a let down :( i hate when you can't get the same good stuff twice in a row at a location :( read more

I had some time to kill before catching my train, my friend suggested we get some icys & ended up at this location. Pretty large menu to choose from & we were totally clueless on what we wanted to get the gentlemen there suggested we try some. He was great gave us a few samples to try Island Punch , Lemon , Mango , Strawberry Margarita , Malibu Bay Breeze , cherry , Passion fruit & Pineapple I think ?? I may have missed a flavor but think I got them all. Mango , Strawberry Margarita were very good , Malibu Bay Breeze ok , good Pineapple & lemon. Island Punch & Passion fruit really good. After a few samples I decide to go with Island Punch & Passion fruit nice that u can mix flavors some place are weird about that. The mixture was delicious ... my friend went with Cherry & Lemon also really good. We sat outside & enjoy the nice day as well as our Icy's. Visiting from the South and have actually never had creme ice - but wow! It was amazing. Our family split the almond joy, key lime pie, mud slide and cotton candy. All flavors were amazing and refreshing on a hot summer night. We will be back next summer and have saved Ralph's as a favorite - we will be back! Maybe tomorrow.... read more

Definitely not a great location. This location is very small and usually only has one person working. Almost any time I have ever gotten some sort of item here it has tasted like mint. So you know they aren't cleaning the spoons. I could get ice cream or any type of ice and there will be a hint of mint ice cream in there. It's not hard to clean the spoon. Not only that but the girl who works there almost every day has an attitude when I give her my order. Seriously? It's your job!!! Sorry that I am asking for three separate ice creams! I didn't think it was much to ask. Especially since that is your job. Many times I will walk to the window and nobody will come out to help me for 5 minutes! So rude. Save yourself the time and go to the one in Nesconset. There you will get great service no attitude and no mint flavor in all of your items!! read more
