Summer fast approaching, warmer weather upon us what better way to cool off and hitting up Ralph's Ices! It's been quite some time since I've been here and was glad to see so many flavor additions to their menu. The girl at the counter was helpful and patient while we perused the choices and was also very helpful. So many options, can't go wrong. The outside seating area is not that large, and the noise from the busy street does not make for much enjoyable sitting, but order and go works for my family! Happy Summer everyone!

Temptation is a dangerous thing. Sometimes you do everything in your power not to give into it and other times it's too much to overcome. For me, I'm tempted to give Ralph's of Lake Ronkonkoma three stars, but you already saw that I went with four. So why the temptation? Well it's not from the ices themselves. I mean it's tough to ruin Ralph's because it's so consistently wonderful and creamy and amazing and any other adjective that could be used to describe it. I'd also say it's not the lack of flavor choices as they have had plenty of pumpkin pie ice (one of the best seasonal ones out there), and we haven't run into any sold out options (at least not yet). I'd also give their setup a thumbs up. It's nothing amazing, but they have a few tables with umbrellas and a space that nicely separates itself from Portion Road. Also the giant Adirondack chair is kinda cool too. And I can't lower my score due to pricing either. I mean Ralph's definitely isn't as cheap as it used to be, but it's still pretty reasonable for what you get. So why the tempted three star review? Slow service. I feel bad saying this because the people who work here seem to be friendly enough, but of all the Ralph's I've been to, they just seem to move at a snail's pace. My fiancée had an issue where things just took forever for her to finally come home with ices (I thought maybe she got lost), and when I was here with my fiancée a different time, it took us forever just to order our two medium pumpkin ices. Last night was the third strike when it took way too long for them to give ices to one woman while I was standing in the rain. I'll say it probably doesn't help that it often seems like only one or two people are working each time we've been, but I'm not sure how they staff the place. It's just discouraging to know that when there's a line, things are gonna take time. Overall, I'll take this piece and consider it an unfortunate (but not unfixable) part of Ralph's of Lake Ronkonkoma and make a 3 1/2 star feel a full four. The place is still nice, the ices are still amazing, and it's so close to my house that I can't see myself going to any other location other than here...even if I might be just a little tempted to do it.

There is nothing like some ice cold Ralph's ices on a really hot day. Not too adventurous when it comes to flavors. I like lemon and chocolate, Although I do occasionally go crazy and get some cappuccino or pina colada. On a hot day, You can be sure there is always a huge line. The staff is great and they go thru the line ofcustomers real quick. There is more than enough flavors too choose from for even the most discriminating taste. Love the ices and can not wait to go again ummm.

So many terrific water ice flavors! Perfect on a warm summer day. When we were on our way to the supermarket we saw this location and made a bee-line for it. This small outpost of Ralph's Famous Italian Ices also shares the space with a Ralph Rottens Nut Pound so if you want even more snacks to go along with your ice such as candies and nuts this is all way too convenient. Get in on the BEETUS! No inside seating but a table and a few benches in the front. It's basically a walk-up window in an old stand alone store with a few friendly kids working it. The amount of water ice and creme ices they have here on selection is mind boggling. About 30 flavors of water ice, and they even carry sugar free options. Blue Hawaii, Bubblegum, Cotton Candy, Grape, Sour Cherry, Root Beer, and so many others to discover. One day I will conquer the whole menu! What is even better are that the water ices are a low cal - low fat treat. It's an icy cold snack that is almost guilt free! They also have a large selection of creme ices to choose from! Wowee-Wow! Apple Crumb, Birthday Cake, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, Jelly Ring, Crazy Coconut, Cinnamon Roll, Toasted Marshmallow, Spumoni, Orange & Creme, Peanut Butter Fluff, and so many more! These are more dairy based. We brought a few back for the family to try and all tasted great. They also have soft serve ice cream, sundaes, milk shakes, etc. You can mix and match flavors too! Prices are relatively cheap and you can choose different cup sizes so if you just want a small snack, or are hankering for a monster bucket, you can satisfy your icy sweet cravings at Ralph's.

Ralph's is one of my favorite places to go to in the summer. Ice + ice cream = cream ice = the perfect hybrid. When I was growing up, I would come here every week and try a new flavor. My most favorite is birthday cake. It has pieces of frosting and sprinkles swirled in it. I would start and end the season with a birthday cake cream ice. Other fantastic cream ices are cinnamon roll, black cherry cheese cake, and carrot cake. Definitely get a birthday cake shake. It's so rich and it's fun to drink something that has sprinkles in it.

Whether you're an ice cream enthusiast or just have a sweet tooth, Mickey's has something for everyone: traditional ice cream, cakes, hand made pies, premium pints, non-dairy options, and their famous ice cream sandwiches (yummm). There were so many flavors and treats to choose from that it took us a while to decide! I loved seeing the grab-and-go pints, such a great idea for busy families or for bringing dessert home. Before making my final choice, I sampled the cookie dough ice cream (which was rich and packed with doughy pieces), but I went with a scoop of Java Chunk in a cone with chocolate sprinkles. The flavor was spot on! A perfect blend of coffee and chocolate chips. My niece opted for her all-time favorite, cotton candy with rainbow sprinkles. The look on her face was pure joy. We took our treats outside and enjoyed them in the seating area, which was spacious and comfortable, perfect for relaxing on a sunny day and making the most of the beautiful weather. My niece told me it was the best day ever when we were enjoying our ice cream, so safe to say this place does it right.

My favorite was the Bubble Waffle Sundae, while my bf is always a fan of the Peanut Butter & Jelly Milkshake. You can really taste the quality because everything is made in-house--from the rich, creamy ice cream to the warm bubble waffles and even the whipped cream, which I was absolutely obsessed with. What really made the experience stand out was the people. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer questions. The owner was working in the shop when we visited, and he was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what he does. It's always nice to support a local business where the owner is so involved and takes pride in every order. If you're looking for homemade ice cream and desserts on Long Island, Strong Island Ice Cream is definitely worth the stop. Great desserts, great service, and a great overall experience. We can't wait to come back! By the way, there is plenty of parking, the walls are very insta-worthy if you want to take photos with your beautifuly constructed sundaes, and there's some seating, and very clean as well.

They don't take reservations. After about 10 minutes my friend and I plus 3 teens (my kids and a friend) were starving and Schnitzels was loud and crowded. We headed a few doors down to Sweet Mama's. Seated immediately. My friend and I shared the steak with penne dinner special and a Cobb salad with grilled chicken. My daughter ordered penne with butter off the kids menu. My son got a turkey burger and his friend got a grilled chicken sandwich on a hero instead of a wrap. Now the good -- portions were huge! My son could barely fit his burger in his mouth and it also had a half avocado on it. They didn't skimp. Steak with penne was delicious and so was the Cobb salad. We all shared off each other's plates because everything looked so amazing. Now the bad. My daughter's pasta was elbows, not penne as indicated on the menu. Not a catastrophe but she was looking forward to penne. Then - my son's friend put some ketchup on his plate for his fries. It was ,.. not red but brown. The bottle had an 8/25 expiration. We are in April 2026. We told the server and she said it's because it's the "simply ketchup" with no artificial dyes. She offered him ketchup packets "with fake dyes" but by that point he lost his appetite for fries. We grabbed ketchup from another table, same brand, Heinz Simply. You can see the difference in color. We showed the server and she acted annoyed. I told her we didn't want anyone getting sick on that ketchup and pointed out the expiration date. She rolled her eyes and said "oh I'll just throw it away." She kind of had an attitude and didn't even apologize. So that's why 4 stars. We'd go back but request not to have that server. The food is fantastic but watch your ketchup! If someone put it on a burger it would have been ruined.
