Have used Ralph's Maytag for over 10 years for maintenance and repair of both our washer & dryer. Bob Abernathy, the founder's son, comes out within 24 hours, knows immediately what is needed and usually able to make repair within 15 minutes. Sometimes, not frequently, he has to order parts that are not on his truck. He knows his product inside and out. Does not fumble. Fixes, gives us the reasonable bill, accepts payment, and is on his way. If we desire to chat he will as he is extremely friendly, but we respect each other's time. Only wish he could replicate himself for the other appliances in our home. read more

Bob just came to my home to replace the belts on my Maytag washer. Bob has been coming to my home to service my Maytags for decades. I purchased both my washer and dryer from him years ago. Called this place after reading reviews and because he's nearby to my house. My dryer had gone out unexpectedly. Bob came out the next day, fixed it quickly at what I believe was probably the best price possible, and then chatted with us about his racing after seeing my Harley. He gave my wife some tips on how to better use the dryer and gave me a small poster from his racing. Great service, great guy. I kinda hope I need his help again. read more

Bob just left my home after putting a refurbished motor in my 30 year old Maytag Stackable! He could not be any more knowledgeable, kindhearted and kindly priced. He explained everything and gave me great tips for how to get my clothes cleanest while not overloading my senior machine. Bob did a very thorough job inspecting my washer dryer stack and installing them in my house. He was extremely patient in showing me everything that he was looking at and all of the potential vulnerabilities to keep an eye on in the future. Additionally, Bob is just an all around cool guy with a hot rodding alter ego (seriously though, ask him about it!). I am seventy years old. I have had numerous service calls on Maytag products over the years but none as quickly and efficiently as Bob, owner of Ralph's Maytag Shop. He was here within an hour. Washing machine repaired in 20 minutes including testing for certainty and an entertaining conversation. His total fee was less than the price of a visit and estimate from others in the Glendale/Burbank area. One man shop and he cannot go everywhere so you are in luck if you live in his service area. read more

I always go to him whenever I have problems with my aging Maytag washer/dryer and he freely gives advice on how to diagnose the problem and fix it. I prefer to get parts from him but if he doesn't have them, he refers me to a local source. I called Ralph's when the lint catcher broke on my dryer. Bob in parts talked me through what it took to get the part number and when he realized he didn't have one in stock, he provided me with the means to get it elsewhere ASAP. I was in no rush and it meant a lot to me that a business would want to help me get what I needed faster over making me wait while they ordered the part. So impressed and not in a rush, I had Bob order the part for me. He quoted two weeks for it to arrive and it came in under a week. He even called me from Jury Duty to make sure I got the message that it was in and would try to get it to me if he couldn't get out of jury duty. If I could give a thousand stars I would. Bob is a master Maytag fixer/mechanic and I will always sing his praises! He fixed my 15 year old Maytag better than new. It has never run as efficienty as now. He is an honest man of integrity, completely reliable, courteous, totally professional and knows maytags inside and out. Ralph was his father! Bob Muravez is the best thing that ever happened to Maytag. Several times when my washer or dryer went out, Bob came over, twice found it was only a loose wire. "What do I owe you," I'd asked. "Nothing!" he'd reply..."I was in the neighborhood!" Last time my dryer went out, Bob said it wasn't worth fixing. He sent me to another washer/dryer store in Burbank that gave me a discount on an exceptional new machine....and then told me that they had never even met Bob! When my Maytag washer went out I told Bob I'd just get new one. He admonished me to keep this one, that it was a genuine older and exceptional Maytag; then he repaired it and billed me the most ridiculous small charge. (Incidentally, he BUILT a new switch for our kitchen JenAir BBQ because the part was no longer available!) This is the most reputable repair man you'd ever be blessed to meet.
